Our driver finally fixed the carriage. We can get out onto the road again.

  "That inn sucked!" Marlin compins.

  "Wasn't the worst pce I've stayed." I joke.

  Marlin looks at me.

  "What's your story?" Marlin asks.

  "What do you mean?" I say.

  "Well, you're really strong. But you talk like you're just like us." Marlin answers.

  What's that supposed to mean? I'm some kind of mystery to you!

  "What do you want to hear?" I ask him.

  "Well, let's see! Why would you join the revolution?" He asks me.

  Should I just tell him that I'm a hero? I know what I could say.

  "The king hurt somebody I care about." I say.

  I am mostly doing this for Ann. If it wasn't for her I'd probably be dead by now.

  "What are you guys here for?" I ask the others.

  They all look around at each other. Henry talks first.

  "We'd be dead if it wasn't for Vincent... He practically raised us." Henry says.

  "How long have you guys been in the revolution?" I say.

  "Fifteen years, we're all twenty three years old." Henry tells me.

  They've been fighting since they were eight?

  "I remember my fighting days!" Garret adds.

  "Since when did you fight old man?" Henry chuckles.

  "Me and Peter here used to be adventures before we got into business." Garret excims.

  I wonder if these two were strong then.

  We travel for a good while before we reach our final destination. It's a small vilge named Yorthale. The only problem is it's been completely destroyed.

  "The burning man?" Marlin says.

  I examine a few pieces of wood. They're not burnt at all. This vilge wasn't destroyed, it was ransacked! Who would do this?

  "It's not the burning man..." I tell them.

  "Who is it then?" Henry questions.

  "I don't know. It's just not the burning man!" I say.

  Derrick walks past the others, bumping into Henry and over to me.

  "How would you know huh? You see the burning man before? Or maybe you could even be working with him! We won't know since you never tell us anything." Derrick shouts.

  "I have seen the burning man before! This isn't his work." I shout back.

  Marlin steps in between the two of us.

  "You two stop fighting!" Marlin yells.

  "Why? He's been lying this whole time! We shouldn't trust what he says!" Derrick says.

  Derrick steps back and stomps over to the carriage. I never lied to them! I only didn't tell them. It was Vincent who said not to tell them. Or... he never told me that, I just didn't want to worry them! I begin to walk back to the carriage when I hear a strangely distorted sound come from behind me. I turn around to see what it was, and one of the buildings is back to normal. It's like nothing ever happened when I could've sworn it wasn't there. The door opens and a tall dy steps out.

  "Like what I did to the pce?" She says.

  "K-Kara?" I stutter.

  Another dy walks out of the building. This one has gold armor and a rge blue spear. Maria is here too? Why are they together.

  "You should've taken Loki's deal Caleb." Maria sighs.

  "Who're they?" Marlin asks.

  "Run!" I yell before dashing towards the carriage.

  Marlin follows after me. Maria dashes after Marlin and stabs her spear into his chest.

  "Marlin! Fuck!" I yell.

  I run back towards them. Maria kicks Marlin's body at me. I catch it just before she jumps into the air. She falls down fast, I dodge but accidentally drop Marlin. Her spear hits Marlin and splits his body into two. I trip onto my back, leaving me vulnerable. Maria walks over and circles around me.

  "Are you scared? Do you feel like running again!" She chuckles.

  "No! You killed somebody I liked... I'll fucking kill you!" I shout.

  I get up onto my feet. Maria swings her spear at my head. I fall back onto my back and roll over back to my feet. She pulls her spear over her head and sshes at my head, I dodge to the left and her spear stabs into the ground. I move towards her and swing my sword. She lets go of her spear and blocks the attack with her cuff. The clock symbol ticks backwards I'm back in front of her. She has her spear over her head. She's about to swing it but kicks my knee instead. I fall to the ground, she puts the bde of her spear up to my neck.

  "I thought you were gonna kill me!" She gives me a grin.

  She pulls her spear up about to cut me, Henry jumps onto her spear knocking it down. I push myself into her and grab her arm. I pull out my dagger and stab into her cuff. She screams in pain as I twist the knife, it cuts deep and takes off half of her fore arm. Her armor disappears and she falls onto her back. I walk over to her and put my sword against her neck.

  "You're nothing without that god!" I say through my gritted teeth.

  I stab my sword into her neck. Henry stands up and leans on my shoulder.

  "You okay?" I ask him.

  "Marlin... I can't believe she'd kill Marlin!" He cries.

  "We killed her for Marlin!" I tell him.

  He stumbles onto his knees and puts his face into his hands. I bend down and put my hand onto his shoulder. He turns and swat me away. I turn back to the carriage, but Kara's standing inside of it.

  "Thanks for the ride!" She ughs.

  The carriage rides off with everybody still inside.

  "Henry!" I yell.

  "What do you want!" Henry shouts.

  "She just took the carriage!" I tell him.

  "So?" He asks.

  "She has the others." I say.

  He turns back around and stands onto his feet. We both start to run after it.

  "Why'd you let this happen?" Henry says.

  "It's not my fault!" I yell.

  "We'll never reach it." Henry says while slowing to a walk.

  We walk back over to the vilge. Henry walks over to Marlin's body and prays. I gather wood and build a small fire. I sit down for a little before Henry walks over to me. He sits down on the other side of the fire.

  "I'm sorry about bming you." He says.

  "It's fine. We've all been acted out of emotion. I do it all the time." I tell him.

  The area goes silent. I y onto my back. It's getting dark, might as well just sleep now. I close my eyes, but I can't go to sleep. I open my eyes to a white room. Loki's standing over me with a grin on his face.

  "You gave me quite the show Caleb!" He says.

  "What do you want?" I snap.

  He's pissing me off now!

  "I didn't mean to 'piss' you off Caleb." He says.

  "Stop doing that!" I yell.

  "I can't help it!" He says, "Caleb, look! I don't want to fight you. Just join me! I can give you all the power you need!"

  "Did you say that to Maria, she was pretty weak." I scoff.

  "Fine! Be like that. I'll leave you to your little Kara deal. But don't go compining when you almost die." He giggles.

  He taps me on the forehead and I fall onto my back. My eyes close and I wake back up, sitting by the fire.
