Our second stop is Tristane. The man we're looking for is Garret. He owns a rge accessory shop.
"Oh, it's a wonderful shop." Peter tells me, "There's anything from magic boosting rings to golden neckces."
"I might just pick something up before we leave." Marlin says.
Peter gives Marlin a rge smile.
"You're a kind boy Marlin. If you want I would be willing to buy you anything you ask." Peter tells Marlin.
Marlin gives Peter a quick hug.
"That would be wonderful!" Marlin says excitedly.
"Don't get distracted! We have a mission." Henry shouts.
Henry has definitely opened up over the past few days. He still doesn't trust me but he's been a bit nicer recently! Maybe I could really gain the trust of these guys before the end of our mission. The two I'm worried about is Derrick and Terry. I haven't heard Terry talk once, and Derrick is still pissy after I beat him.
We've passed a lot of pces I recognize. Maybe we're just on the same path I traveled. I've definitely been to Tristane. It's right by the orc-human territories border. Maybe the old man at the little shop I talked to is also an investor. It'd be a crazy coincidence!
We reach Tristane, I luckily remember the town's yout and show the driver to the stables. He drops us off there and walks into a little barn.
"I'll be here when you're ready." They tell us.
"We'll be back soon." I say to him.
We walk around town looking for any accessory shops.
"Do you know where Garret is?" I ask Peter.
Peter begins to walk faster, I follow close behind him. The others notice we're walking off and try to follow us. We reach a small shop. It's filled with golden items. Peter walks in and goes behind the front counter. Does he know the owner then? I guess he did say he's been here before. I walk into the shop. The shop looks familiar. Yeah, I've certainly been here before!
I go behind the counter and walk into a back room. The yout of the shop is very simir to Peter's pce. In the back rooms is a rge amount of shelves, each one of the shelves is full of boxes. I have to weave my way through them into another room. Peter is in the middle of the shop, he's giving somebody a hug. They step away from each other.
"Caleb, this is my old friend Garret!" Peter says, "We were business partners many years ago!"
"You're the adventurer who passed through here a few months ago!" Garret excims.
Garret is the old man that I told I'd kill those orcs for! Well that's... How many good people hate this damn king!
"Your friends told me that you disappeared." Garret says.
"Yeah, that was a whole thing!" I chuckle.
"I'm gd you're okay!" He says.
Me and Peter bring him to the front of the store. The others are all looking around the store.
"There you guys are!" Marlin shouts.
"Good! You found him, now let's get moving." Henry says.
"Hold on!" Marlin yells, "I still need to choose anything."
Henry picks Marlin up by the waist and takes him out of the store.
"We'll meet you three at the stables." Henry tells us.
I direct the two to the stables. This trip was a lot easier than the trip to Revillion. This mission might go pretty well! We reach the stables, I help the two old men into the carriage and we set off.
During our trip Terry stays close to Henry. Every time we go over a slight bump he holds onto Henry. It's almost like he's a little kid. I don't want to ugh but it's a strange sight. Maybe he went through something? I don't want to diss on people's trauma. I move close to Marlin and whisper to him.
"What's up with Terry?" I whisper.
"What do you mean?" Marlin asks in a quiet voice.
"I mean, why doesn't he talk, or like why he stays close to one of you guys all the time?" I ask him.
"Oh, he's mute. It was an accident that happened in his childhood." He tells me.
People have troubles. I always put my struggles first when dealing with situations like this. I always told myself I had a role. That I could never change, yet I guess I never tried. My dad instilled such strong belief into me to the point I just became him. I'm truly grateful for this world. For my friends and the people I've met. Terry, a man I don't know gave me a compassion I didn't have when I was young. I want to help people. I'm not in this for me anymore, I want to kill for good!
We crash just outside a small vilge just outside Tristane.
"What are we supposed to do?" Marlin asks.
"Let's head to the nearby vilge, we can figure things out there." Henry suggests.
We begin to walk to the vilge when Terry colpses onto his knees. Henry runs over to him and picks him up on his back.
"Is he okay?" I ask Henry.
"He's fine!" Henry says while storming ahead of everyone else.
He didn't have to say it like that! I just wanted to make sure he'll be alright.
"Just another reason I should be leader instead of you." Derrick mutters.
Marlin punches him on the head.
"Caleb is doing a good job Derrick!" Marlin shouts.
I thought I had things under control. Maybe I miss judged my own team. We reach the vilge and head over to a nearby inn. Henry pays for two rooms. One for me, Peter, and Garret. And then one for the others. We walk into our room. There's three beds in the room, lucky for us. I sit on one of the beds. I really need some sleep.
I wake up in a strange white room. There's a man turned around in front of me.
"Good job on escaping Maria! It was a beautiful scene." The man says.
"Who're you?" I ask.
"My name's Loki, I just wanted to talk to you." He tells me.
Loki?
"Yes, my name's Loki!" They say.
"How'd you do that?" I say.
"What do you mean?" Loki asks.
"You read my mind there or something!" I say.
"I'm a god! That's something we can all do, silly!" Loki ughs.
Then mind I talk like this?
"Do what you want!" Loki jokes.
Why'd you summon me here?
"You deserve a reward for your efforts!" Loki says.
What would that be? One of your little trophies?
"You're smart kid! I want your strength." Loki excims.
What if I say no?
"I'll just have Maria kill you! Either way I get some fun." Loki ughs.
Send her over. I'll be happy to kill a holy knight!
"Confidence kills, but if you wish..." Loki sighs.
My eyes open and my head swings up. I'm ying in the inn's bed.
