50. Beautifully Tragic

“Hey, Ken, what happened? Why are you spacing out?” Andrew asked Ken.

Ken was thinking about his past. After a few seconds, he returned to the present state.

“Sorry, I just remembered something,” he muttered.

They were discussing the plans while travelling in the car. At times, they were all silent, deep in thought.

Their travel continued for over 5 hours, and they had eaten their dinner in the car itself as they didn’t want to waste time in it.

The prison was located at Maxil, a place which is situated at the western end of Aurelios. Nobody lives near that area.

It is a land owned by the king, and people are rarely seen in that area. 2 km to its east is Drakel, a land where only less people live.

The vegetation was normal there, but people don’t live there because of its unbearable snowy season.

Ken and his friends crossed Drakel at 10:18 pm and came near Maxil.

Approximately 120 soldiers are protecting the outside of the prison, as it is a relatively large.

Ken doesn’t know about the count. They parked their car 700 meters west of Drakel as they thought it was risky to go near the prison with the vehicle in many ways.

The network doesn’t work there as normal, so contacting someone from a different place is highly doubtful in that area.

Harkey’s role in this mission is simple and clear; he is not known for his physical strength compared to the other 3, so his role was to protect the car while they were raiding.

He needs to exit the area that they are in, and go park the car, and wait for them at the location that Ken gave.

The location was a hidden place discovered through his research, situated on the eastern border of Drakel.

After a particular time, his job was to bring the car near them and escape from there. He borrowed a sword from Vittario, which was a family sword that had been passed down for several generations.

Vittario and his parents thought for some time before giving their sword to him, but they knew about him and Ken, so with that belief, they gave him the iconic sword.

Harkey kept with him just in case to protect himself, even though he didn’t know a lot about using swords. Before Vittario left Aurelios, he gave some training to Harkey, even if it was for a short duration.

“You can do this, Harkey,” Galen told him after stepping out of the car.

“You are a warrior,” Ken muttered.

“Without you, our mission would fail, so make sure to save us, and if the other scenario happens, do your job as given to you correctly,” Andrew said to Harkey.

“Don’t worry, he can do it,” Ken replied.

“Everybody kept hope in me, I must fulfil it, I can do this,” Harkey felt energised.

They began walking from there. They have to walk about 1300 meters from that area. It was 10:27 pm when they started their journey.

While they were walking, Harkey took out his phone and started listening to songs to keep himself engaged while driving.

He is a type of person who would sleep early by 10:00 pm, so to pull an all-nighter, he tried listening to songs.

At 10:31 pm, he started driving, as his role at the start was to reach the location that Ken told him about before 11:05 pm without getting caught by the Theron attacker’s group.

  On the other hand,

  In Drakel,

“They arrived, shall we proceed, supreme?” Kael asked the brown-haired guy on the phone.

“Are they going near the prison in their car?” The brown-haired guy asked.

“It seems like it, shall I follow them?” Kael asked.

“No, let them start, but we are the ones to end,” the brown-haired guy told him.

“I will be there within some time, execute our plan with the men you have there,” he added and hung up the call.

“March 14th, huh? Seems fine with me, shall we begin our game, coin flipper?” he muttered, smirking.

Kael then called the scarred man.

“Supreme told us to execute, give me your instruction too,” he asked.

“Start our plan, I will come there within 30 minutes, ask Veris for anything,” the scarred man said, and hung up the call.

“Ken, I will take revenge for what you caused that day. Wait for me, don’t get caught soon,” Kael muttered, angry.

Veris reached the exact location of Kael within 10 minutes and discussed their plans for the last time.

They sent out 30 of their men to search for Ken’s car, but their plan was not to kill him, just to capture him.

Their supreme has some plans for Ken as he needed Ken to attain one of his goals.

  Back to Andrew,

“Yesterday, I felt nervous, but now I feel nothing at all. I don’t know why?” Andrew told Ken and Galen.

“I am still nervous for some reason,” Galen revealed.

“I still can’t believe him,” was the reaction of the other 2.

  After a few minutes,

All 3 were silent while walking, thinking about the possible scenarios and consequences that this would lead them to.

“I can’t believe I am doing this. I have changed a lot,” Ken thought.

“I don’t think I can go back to normal, now that I am crossing the line,” his thoughts.

“I might leave for Soltheris tomorrow. I don’t know a lot about it, it also means that I can’t see my family and friends for some time,” Ken was in deep thought.

“I told Haili about this,” Andrew’s thoughts.

Andrew told Haili everything that they were about to do, except for one thing, but her reaction was unexpected.

She wished him luck as she knew the reason for their raid, even though she wasn’t happy with it.

She smiled and pretended to be fine with it, but inside, she was scared that their plan was failing.

Haili was never a pessimistic person, but after she met Andrew, she changed slightly; she wished to spend more time with him.

She wished that he would never leave her, and feared that fate could separate them.

Andrew didn’t tell her that he might be leaving Aurelios the next day, on March 15. Ken had planned out a location for all 4, and Andrew’s location to leave was Vaelheim.

Even though he doesn’t want to leave Aurelios, he has no other choice, as leaving was the best option for them to save themselves and their family and friends.

  Now to the brown-haired guy,

“I can’t wait to see their reaction,” he muttered while driving his car.

“You can’t escape to your choice, coin flipper, I have plans for your friends, too,” he said, laughing.

“You are not my enemy, rather a piece in my chessboard,” he said, nearing the Drakel.
