“This day already feels long, but the crazy thing is it’s just started,” Ken thought as he walked.
“How do you feel, Ken?” Lucera asked.
“Not bad,” he replied.
“If you need rest, just say, we can meet them later,” she suggested.
“I’m fine. I’ll just take a rest once I get home,” he said.
Their conversation continued for about 10 minutes until they reached a park that wasn't the one they visited before.
“Well, I didn’t think the meeting location would be a park,” Ken muttered.
“It’s a special park that holds a lot of memories for me,” she replied.
“Oh well, maybe park is my lucky place after all,” Ken thought with a half-smile.
The park was large, but not many people were around since it was almost noon.
“They should be around here,” she said while searching for her friends, looking around as the sun shined bright.
“How am I supposed to introduce myself to her friends?” Ken thought, feeling confused.
“Sure god, you love to play with me, right?” he murmured, looking upwards.
After a few minutes of walking in the park, she found her friends.
Ken was still confused because he hadn’t figured out how to introduce himself.
All five of her friends introduced themselves to Ken. He smiled, but his mind was still processing the situation.
“Myself Hiyose Ken, nice meeting you all,” he finally said without stumbling over his words.
“It feels like a victory, but it’s only just getting started,” he thought.
They began talking, and Ken was surprised at how nice they were to him, even though it was their first meeting.
Their conversation lasted another five minutes. Then, for the first time, Ken faced a choice to make.
All six people were thinking about him during those five minutes, and he could read their minds. He chose to start with Lucera’s thoughts.
Ken decided to read her mind while he was running towards the airport.
During those five minutes, he discovered her concern about whether he could reach the airport, but she kept hope in him.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Why do people like her believe in me when I clearly don’t?” he wondered, surprised by her thoughts.
“Thank you,” he said to her.
“Why? What happened?” she asked, looking confused, as were the others.
“Nothing big, but it felt like you are the one who understood me,” he replied, trying to control his tears.
“Nah, you’re just exaggerating,” she said.
Then everyone started sharing their experiences with Ken while he listened to their stories.
2 of 10 over already. I should use my remaining carefully. As you know, Ken is superstitious and believes in crazy things.
When he first used his power on Lucera, he thought it was too good for him. That night, he came up with an idea.
“I should only use this power ten times a day,” he realized. He believed by this way, he would enjoy his powers more. From that day on, he counted his power usage daily.
He mostly used it on his parents since they were the only ones who thought about him regularly.
But now, he realized he could use five of those ten on random people. He felt excited and could feel goosebumps all over his body.
“Let’s use it on Haili first,” he decided. Haili was Lucera’s closest friend and the first person Lucera told about Ken.
She was also an eccentric person like Lucera. She won’t dwell on her problems and likes living in the present.
“What time should I read her thoughts?” Ken questioned himself.
“Let’s do it the normal way, the random way,” he answered.
“Let’s read her thoughts at 9 a.m.,” he thought. When he used his power to read Haili’s mind, he heard something strange.
“Why is he crying?” was the first thought she had at 9 a.m.
“He looks like he’s finished college. Why cry on a Sunday morning?” she wondered.
As she thought about him, he stepped away from his bench and exited the railway station. Then after few minutes, Haili began walking towards her home.
Five minutes flashed by, and Ken felt confused by what he heard.
“Wow, my head finally feels light again,” he muttered.
Ken wanted to ask her about what had happened, but he couldn’t.
Then he thought about reading the others’ thoughts, but he managed to read only Violet’s mind as everyone decided to leave afterwards.
Everyone waved goodbye to Ken, and he was surprised at how quickly the day went by in the park.
“Bye, Ken! We’ll meet again,” Lucera waved.
“Ok,” he muttered, waving goodbye to all of them.
“It was an interesting day. Maybe life is meant to be like this,” he smiled.
“I wish I had more time,” Lucera thought while leaving. She was happy and realized she was enjoying her time when around Ken.
Ken returned home, had lunch, and took a short nap. In the evening, he went for another walk to get some fresh air.
“What a day. It feels like a dream,” he thought, amazed by everything that happened.
“I’m slowly gaining control over my power, and my mind is more and more accustomed to it, which is a positive,” he reflected.
“I met many people, all had different minds, but they were all kind to me,” he enjoyed recalling those moments.
“Maybe humans are meant to be kind to everyone,” Ken’s mind turned philosophical.
After few minutes, he returned home, ending an incredible day in his life, falling asleep while thinking about it.
The next morning arrived as Ken reached college by bus as catching the bus felt normal now.
He spent the whole day talking to Andrew about the events from the previous day.
Andrew was surprised by how much had happened for Ken in just one day.
He also said, “You’re quite an interesting guy, Ken.”
“I’m the most boring person ever,” Ken thought to himself while hearing Andrew’s words.
“Maybe next week, I might join the meeting,” Andrew said.
“Definitely, come with me,” he replied.
Their conversation continued until the college day ended.
Ken returned home, and that night he replayed his entire Sunday, feeling happy as he relished it.
The next morning arrived, and something big awaited Ken.
Ken's power can be used on any person who thinks of him for 5 minutes. The power is that he can read any 5 minutes of that person's thought in that day.
