“Ahh, what could it be,” Ken thought as he started the morning.
“I even said yes without thinking,” he reflected. His day began with thoughts about the previous day.
Even in college, he replayed his conversation with Lucera from yesterday.
Andrew approached him when he noticed Ken deep in thought. “How do you feel about Sunday?” he asked.
“What Sunday?” Ken replied with confusion.
“The thing that Lucera going to share,” Andrew explained.
“I don’t know; what do you think?” Ken asked him.
“I don’t want to interfere; just go there and find out,” Andrew suggested. “I know that,”
Their conversation continued for a while as Ken finished the day without using his abilities.
“Only one day to go,” he thought as he got home.
The next day arrived, and Ken still couldn’t shake off his thoughts about Lucera’s important thing.
During lunch break, he asked Andrew to join him the following day. “No, I have some work to do,” Andrew replied.
“You’re the one invited, so you have to go alone,” he added.
“Maybe after five minutes tomorrow, I should use my powers to see what’s on her mind,” Ken thought.
He returned home but couldn’t focus on anything as he anxiously awaited the next day.
“Tomorrow is the day I’ve been waiting for,” he murmured before falling asleep.
Sunday came, and Ken woke up early. He started walking nervously.
“Oh no, I forgot to ask her about the timing,” he suddenly realized, frozen for a moment.
“I don’t even have her number to ask,” he continued. “Maybe I should just wait at the park,” he planned.
“It’s not that I’m not excited, but I don’t know how to talk to a girl, especially when they plan to meet,” he thought while sitting on a bench.
“How should I start?” His nerves started to kick in.
Just then, Lucera arrived at the park and was searching for him.
At first, Ken didn’t notice her, but after a few minutes, feeling unsure, he stood up and looked around the area.
When he turned to his right, he spotted her. “Oh, she’s here! What should I do?” he thought.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Lucera saw him and began walking over.
As she approached, Ken’s heart raced, pulse quickened and his mind wandered.
He felt something that he hadn’t experienced before.
“Hi, how did the past two days go?” Lucera asked. “They well went good...” Ken’s brain became unstable, much like the past week.
“You never change, do you?” she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Try to be normal, Ken,” he told himself to calm down.
“How was yours?” he asked back. “I spoke normally. Try to keep that up, Ken,” he praised himself.
“It went fine, nothing too crazy,” she replied. “Well, the thing I wanted to tell you is…”
“What? Is she going to reveal it now?” Ken thought as she spoke.
“I told my friends about you; they want to meet you,” Lucera said.
“What is happening?” Ken thought in disbelief. “Can we go see them?” she asked.
“Should I go? But I still don’t know how to talk to girls,” his mind debated.
After some thought, Ken answered, “Yes,” and they began walking.
“Why did she tell her friends about me?” he wondered.
As they walked, Ken saw a purse drop from a girl's bag, and he couldn’t resist watching it fall.
“Wait a minute, Lucera,” he said, dashing after the girl.
Unfortunately, the girl stepped onto a car and left.
Ken picked up the purse and found some money and a ticket for a flight.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 11:45 AM. Ken checked his watch; it was 11:15 AM.
“What’s wrong, Ken?” Lucera asked. “I have to return this purse or that girl can’t board her flight,” he explained, showing her the ticket.
“But what can we do now?” she asked.
“The airport is about 3km away,” he replied.
“But there are no taxis here; how can we get there on time?” Lucera said.
“Stay here or walk towards it; I’ll make it,” he said as he got ready to run.
“Are you crazy? How can you get there in 20 minutes?” she asked.
“Yes, I’m an idiot who does crazy things, but I’ll succeed this time,” he said as he waved goodbye.
Ken started running at a good pace. Even though he wasn’t prepared, it was one of his strengths to run anywhere, anytime.
“I need to get there,” he muttered. “Ahh, I’m making her angry,” he thought of Lucera.
“Why am I like this, doing these crazy things?” he lamented as he completed 1km.
“When she dropped her purse, I couldn’t stop myself from going after it,” he reflected.
“Why god, only when I’m with a girl, I get these missions” he laughed at himself.
As he approached 2.5 km, he checked his watch. It was 11:28, and after seeing the time, Ken picked up his pace.
“What is he thinking? Will he make it on time?” Lucera wondered as she walked.
“Finally, I made it,” Ken arrived by 11:31 AM. He had visited the airport only once when he was very young, so he didn’t know where to go but remembered her face.
After two minutes of running around, he finally spotted her. She was talking to a security guard. “Maybe she’s worrying about her ticket,” he thought.
Ken approached her with the purse in hand.
“I think this is yours; you left it while getting into the car,” he said as he handed it over.
“Thank you so much! Without this, I couldn’t have done anything,” she replied.
“I knew the tickets couldn't be brought now, so I thought the only way was to return this to you,” Ken said as his heart was racing due to him running.
“Thank you so much! How did you get here?” she asked. “By the way, I’m Salvia. Nice to meet you,” she added.
“I’m Hiyose Ken. I ran over here,” he smiled.
Then the time came for her to board the plane, and their five-minute conversation passed quickly.
Ken realized she had thought about him during that time.
He started using his power on her. “I can’t return the favour; I feel like an idiot not giving anything to the person who saved my day,” she thought.
Ken heard this and shouted, “You don’t have to give me anything or return the favour; I’m satisfied with your thanks.”
“Oh no, I just replied to her thoughts without thinking,” he scolded his mouth.
Salvia was shocked by his comment and didn’t respond.
“How did he know what I was thinking? Did he read my mind?” she wondered, confused but also curious about him.
After 5 minutes, Ken started walking again.
“I should go back to Lucera, but I’m tired,” Ken muttered as he felt dizzy.
He joined her halfway. “You’re fast,” she told him.
“Did you return it back?” she asked.
“Yes, I somehow managed to return it,” he replied.
“Can we go see your friends?” he asked.
“Ken, you’re crazy but an amazing person,” she told him.
Ken’s face turned red at her words. His tiredness vanished as he spoke with her, and they continued walking.
