Arc I - Chapter II - Episode VIII: "Kaelithian Power?"

  Lyte of Utopia

  Arc I: “Apocalypse”

  Chapter II: “Growth”

  Episode VIII: “Kaelithian Power?”

  [Rikito vs. Kuro]

Rikito’s blows came fast and unpredictably, but Kuro countered them with near-perfect precision.

This guy’s hits are faster and heavier than mine. This isn’t good… this form isn’t energy-efficient enough to keep up for long. Rikito thought.

“Alright… why don’t you stop bluffing?” Rikito spat. “Saying you’re at full power when you haven’t even ascended to the second level yet.”

“Hmph. I could say the same. Show me what you’re hiding first — then I’ll consider revealing my second form.”

  “Fair enough,” Rikito smirked.

This way, Asuka doesn’t have to hold back either.

He powered down briefly, exhaling sharply — then his aura ignited in a calm but crushing wave of white, rippling across the battlefield. His hair lifted slightly, and his eyes became pure, radiant white, the light almost blinding up close.

Rikito smirked, flexing his hands as power coursed through him.

This is it… Akira’s aether form. No… I’ve mastered it, I’ve made it my own.

“W?what?!” Kuro’s eyes widened. “This must be… the power of the lost race… the Kaelithians!”

  “Kaelithian? What is that?”

“Hmph. You don’t even know your own bloodline? Your father, Apocalypse, was Dystopian.

But his second wife — your mother — wasn’t.”

  Kuro’s tone grew almost reverent.

“She was Kaelithian. One of a warrior people who burned like stars on the battlefield — a race lost to time shortly after the Utopians fell.”

Kuro gestured toward Rikito’s glowing form.

“That power you’re wielding isn’t some accident. It’s Spirit Resonance — the signature of your mother’s people. A form that forces body and spirit into perfect sync. Few races could rival them in close combat.”

  “Spirit Resonance, huh? Not bad.”

“Enough talk. Now I’ll let you see my true power!”

Kuro transformed into Demon Form Level Two.

“Is that it? What a shame.”

“Save your tongue! You’ll regret those words.”

But once their clash resumed, Rikito’s speed with Spirit Resonance easily outpaced Kuro’s counters.

  [Asuka vs. Roku]

Meanwhile, Roku had Asuka on the defensive.

Asuka bit her lip, her claws trembling as she steadied her breathing.

  I can’t fall behind. I won’t be dead weight.

“If Rikito isn’t holding back anymore… then I don’t have to either. HAA!”

Her aether exploded into radiant white streaks, her form locking into Spirit Resonance with surprising grace.

“What, she can do it too!?” Roku hissed.

“What’s there to be surprised about? She’s my little sister.”

In an instant, Asuka blitzed past Roku’s guard and drove a punch deep into his gut.

  “Crystal Wave!”

“Dammit!” Kuro appeared in front of Roku, deflecting the blast.

Roku staggered — already near unconsciousness.

“This fool… went and got himself beaten,” Kuro snarled.

The two generals reverted to their base forms.

What are they up to? Rikito thought.

“This… you’ve probably seen this before — Julie’s pitiful imitation of it. That girl lacked the discipline to use it properly.”

Kuro placed a hand on the back of Roku’s neck, black tendrils of aether coiling between them.

“I taught her this technique myself — but she never mastered it.”

  His eyes glimmered.

“It’s called Parasitic Convergence — an art stolen from the Utopians, reshaped by my own hands.

My variant strips away the harmony of true Convergence. I retain full control. No squabbling minds. No sharing. Only power.”

“Now behold… the combined might of the Sixth and Seventh Generals… Kuroku!”

Rikito and Asuka froze as Kuro’s aura pierced into Roku like living chains, dragging his essence into himself.

Their bodies twisted unnaturally, merging into a single, taller frame as Roku’s features melted into Kuro’s like wax.

When it was over, the new form stood silent — a grotesque fusion of both generals, its aura a violent swirl of pure black nightmares.

The fused General entered his Demon Form — and his power skyrocketed, shaking the dunes beneath their feet.

Woah… this is no joke, Rikito thought, sweat running down his face.

Kuroku charged, overwhelming Rikito despite his Spirit Resonance boost.

If he’s this strong in first form… what happens when he goes further? I can’t drag this out. I need to end it fast.

  “Black Lightning!”

  Kuroku casually dodged.

Dammit… even with this power, I can’t last forever.

  “Let me help, brother!”

“No! Save your strength for the battles ahead.”

  Asuka reluctantly powered down.

“Now… transform. Show me everything you’ve got.”

“Hmph. You’re asking for your own demise.”

Kuroku unleashed Demon Form Level Two.

“What? That’s it? I must be lucky. I never imagined this would be your limit.”

“What are you laughing at?! Can’t you feel the vast difference in our power?!”

“Yeah… vast difference. Let me show you what I’ve been hiding!”
