Arc I - Chapter II - Episode IX: "Kuroku! The Demons Fusion!"

  Lyte of Utopia

  Arc I: “Apocalypse”

  Chapter II: “Growth”

Episode IX: “Kuroku! The Demon’s Fusion!”

  [Rikito vs. Kuroku]

“Woah… he’s really gonna do it!” Asuka watched in awe as Rikito prepared himself.

“Your real power? So, you’re telling me that Spirit Resonance is not the full extent of your strength? Lies!” Kuroku spat.

“Believe what you want! But don’t be surprised when I kick your ass.”

Alright… now I’ve only done this a couple of times while training, but I should be able to pull this off.

  “Here goes nothing… HAAAAAAAAAA!”

Rikito’s aura didn’t just expand — it transformed.

A thin, white?hot radiance clung tightly to his skin like a glowing outline, hugging every contour of his body.

Surrounding that was a dense, creamy?white shroud, heavier and calmer than his previous chaotic aura.

The air rippled from its oppressive weight, and a low hum replaced the crackling noise of Spirit Resonance.

His hair flowed higher, catching the glow of the inner radiance.

“I guess… You could call this… Stage Two — Spirit Ascension.”

  “He did it!” Asuka cheered.

Kuroku grimaced. “W-what? He actually surpassed Spirit Resonance? Maybe I underestimated one of the master’s sons.”

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Rikito grinned and vanished. “Too slow.”

He blitzed behind Kuroku, chopping him in the neck.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself!! Dark Piercer!”

Kuroku’s fist glowed with a shadowy aura as he punched through Rikito’s block, staggering him.

  “D-dammit!”

The two were evenly matched, neither willing to give ground.

This will come down to who lands the killing blow… Asuka clasped her hands together, feeling on edge.

They continued trading blows, punches, kicks, grapples… both fighters sustaining heavy damage.

Damn… I can’t let this drag on. I’m burning through too much energy, and his Demon Form is slowly healing him. I’ll have to use it.

“Asuka! I need a few seconds to charge up!”

  “Right!”

Asuka powered into Spirit Resonance, her pure white aura flaring as she darted around Kuroku, unleashing a barrage of aether blasts to keep him at bay.

He sent his sister in?! She won’t last long. What is he stalling for?

  Kuroku lunged forward. “Dark Piercer!”

His strike impaled Asuka through the chest — only for her body to burst into water.

  “W?what?!”

“You like that? Serous Clone. Pretty handy, huh?” Asuka’s voice chimed from behind him, a smirk on her face.

The water on his body hardened with a cold grasp, freezing him in place.

  “Damn you!”

“Alright! That’s enough — thanks, Asuka!”

  “No problem!”

Rikito’s palms glowed with a storm of colors — black, purple, royal blue, and red energy swirling together violently, arcs of white radiance dancing across his forearms.

  Oblivion Break: Cataclysmic Verse…

  “ABYSS BREAKER!!!”

The colossal orb formed, its weight splitting the ground beneath them.

Kuroku froze, his body instinctively recoiling at the catastrophic power barreling toward him.

  “W?what the hell?! That energy…!”

The attack burst forward, a swirling cataclysm of Kaelithian and Dystopian power, swallowing Kuroku in blinding destruction and leaving behind a massive crater that smoked and hissed under the energy’s lingering heat.

“And that’s that,” Rikito said, powering down.

But as he walked toward the debris —

  “Impossible… he survived?”

Kuroku coughed blood, laughing weakly. “That was quite the move, Rikito. Don’t worry… I can’t fight anymore. In fact, I don’t have much time left.”

“Hmph. Then I’ll finish you off.”

  “W-wait…”

  “Begging for your life? Pathetic.”

“No… there’s something you should know before I die. The last three generals… they’re nothing like what you’ve seen. They, too, are children of the master.”

  “What!?”

“That’s right… You and your sister… you’re only half the story. Your mother was his second wife. But his first… Lady Soap… was Dystopian.”

Kuroku coughed blood, smiling through broken teeth.

“Her three children… the Eighth General, Tub. The Ninth, Cette. And the most fearsome of all… the Tenth… Bowl.

Their power… dwarfs ours combined. Even if every general below fought together… the Eighth alone would slaughter us.”

  Rikito’s breath hitched.

  Asuka froze.

  Even together… they’d lose?

“W-what… don’t lie to me.” Rikito barked.

“Hahaha! I have no reason to lie. Just know… the rise of Apocalypse is near!”

  “Shut up.”

Looks like I wasn’t able to save you… master. Kuroku smirked as he choked on his last breath.

  Rikito blasted him, ending it.

Shit… if they’re really that strong, I’ll need help. Where the hell are you, Akira?
