[Rikito vs Bills]
Bills caught Rikito’s massive beam in his hands, trying desperately to resist.
“Not this time, Bills… I’m going to finish you!”
“AHHHHHH!”
With one final push, Rikito’s Super Dark Demolition Cannon overwhelmed him, reducing the Dystopian general to ashes.
[Asuka vs. Julie]
Asuka knelt over, panting heavily.
“Ha! Looks like you’ve reached your limit.” Julie smirked, slowly approaching.
“What a shame. I wanted to have more fun. I guess I’ll just absorb you now. Final Death Hurricane!”
The entire area was covered in pouring rain and storming clouds. Julie gathered large amounts of the rain and formed crystalline ice shards, launching them fiercely at Asuka.
“No… not yet. I’m not giving up yet!” Asuka surged with the last of her strength, standing tall. “I… have people counting on me!”
“Shining Crystal Wave!”
Julie’s eyes widened. “W?what!? No—!”
The purplish?white beam tore through the crystalline storm, melting ice mid?air and fracturing the earth beneath them as it engulfed Julie completely, vaporizing her in a blinding flash.
Asuka powered down, collapsing to the ground unconscious.
[Akira vs. Grimm]
Grimm grinned as dark energy surged around him.
What’s this? I feel my shadow returned to me! YES!
“Now I can destroy this foolish boy! HAHAHAHA!”
“…” Akira stared at him, unimpressed.
“Yes, that’s right! Feel despair at the sight of my true power!”

“You really don’t get it, do you?” Akira’s calm voice cut through Grimm’s mania. “It doesn’t matter how strong you become… because I’ll always rise above you.”
“You brat! I’ll show you!”
“Grand Shadow Beam!”
“I’ll send you back to the darkness… with this light! Universal Star Destroyer!”
The two forces clashed — Grimm’s oppressive darkness against Akira’s radiant light. At first, they seemed evenly matched, but Akira’s beam quickly overpowered Grimm’s.
“I?impossible! You… think this is over?” Grimm snarled as the light consumed him. “Apocalypse… will bury you—NOOOO—!”
The blast engulfed Grimm, obliterating him — and half the village behind him.
Akira relaxed as his creamy-white eyes faded, his hair fell to rest, and his aether calmed to a plain white glow.
“Now… It’s over.”
“Akira!” Fevee ran to him. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah… I’m fine.” Akira’s voice was heavy with sorrow. “I’m… sorry about your brother.”
“Don’t apologize…” Fevee whispered, tears streaking her face as she pulled him into a tight embrace. “Just… don’t leave me like he did.”
[Rikito vs. Bills]
It’s finally over… that shadow is gone too.
Rikito glanced toward Asuka’s energy signature.
Julie’s gone… and Asuka’s fading. Did she win?
He took one step toward her… then collapsed.
[The next day… ]
“He’s waking up,” Asuka said.
“About time…” Akira muttered.
Deja Vu, Fevee thought.
“Ugh… how long was I out?” Rikito groaned.
“Only a day,” Asuka replied.
“And the generals?”
“I beat him,” Akira said flatly. “Grimm. The Fifth General. He was pretty strong, but I managed with my new form.”
“New form?”
“Yeah. I’ll show you later. But you need more rest.”
[That evening]
Rikito approached Akira outside the house.
“Akira,” Rikito said sternly, “fight me.”
“What?”
“You heard me. I want to see your power with my own eyes. I’m serious.”
“Whatever you say… then let’s try this: Hyper Energy Mode Layer Ten!”
Rikito scowled. “I wanted to see your new power. What, do I have to force it out of you? Fine. But I’m warning you, I won’t hold back.”
“Bring it.”
“Ha!” Rikito ascended into Demon Form Level One, then pushed into Level Two.
“That’s more like it!”
The two clashed, shockwaves cracking the ground. Rikito pressed the advantage, but Akira was enjoying it.
“Stop toying with me! Show me your true strength!”
“Heh… Hyper Energy Mode Layer Twenty.”
“You know that’s not what I was talking about!” Rikito screamed. “SUPER DARK DEMOLITION CANNON!”
[Akira thought back to several months ago]
“You want me to train you?” Kai asked.
“Yeah! I’m gonna show those bastards, Rayon and Rikito, that I can surpass them!”
“Is that so? Alright… I’ll train you,” Kai said, forming a mass of energy that shifted into the shape of a dragon’s head.
“First lesson: shaping your energy.”
[Akira vs. Rikito]
“Dragon Star Destroyer!”
A dragon-headed beam crashed through Rikito’s attack, narrowly missing him.
“I can’t even keep up in this state. DAMMIT!” Rikito raged, boosting his power.
Akira exhaled, powering down. “Fine. I’ll show you… the other power within me.”
His aura shifted as his white aether and runes flared to life — Enhanced State, mastered and controlled.
“There it is,” Rikito said quietly, sweat running down his face as awe mixed with frustration. “Damn it… I can’t even read your movements in that form… you’ve surpassed me.”
“Happy now?” Akira said, flaunting his aura.
“… yeah.” Rikito clenched his fists, his mind racing between respect and burning jealousy.
His Yield level didn’t change… but something about his presence in this form seems… dangerous.
They both powered down, concluding the fight.
[A few hours later]
“So, what are your plans, Akira,” Rikito asked as they sat in the snow, looking up at the starry night.
“I’m… going on a journey. I’m not going back to the UFA.”
“A journey? Why?”
“To find someone… who’s supposed to teach me how to use this power inside me… this power that Apocalypse is after.”
“…”
“This is something I should do alone. You and Asuka should go back and report what happened. They need to know about what happened to the headmaster. And… Mas— Kai...”
“…”
“…”
“Hey, what are you guys talking about?” Asuka asked as she walked up to the two boys.
“...”
“Hmph. Fine, don’t tell me. Dinner’s ready.” Asuka took off, pouting.
