After enjoying warm bath and massage, I exited temple of Aphrodite and stretched. Sun was shining and day was warm, with pleasant wind blowing from the ocean. It had been ten days since my battle with King of the Iron mountains. My body and mind still did not recover from the battle, but I was slowly healing, getting better with each day.
I was under strict instructions not to use magic, for at least three more weeks. And needed to find a way to pass the time. I was considering leaving Mina, but had not decided were to go next. Visiting Grimsburg and getting coffee beans was most appealing idea that I had, but I needed to figure out a reason, which would convince my party members to undertake such a journey.
But staying here was not something that I wanted to do. Summer was ending, and I still remembered how cold was winter in Mina. Located in continents northern border, Mina was close to snow covered nds of the continent, and winters were cold and less than comfortable.
Small fox run towards me. It was nine-tailed fox. Also known as kitsune or kumiho, it was mythical animal that lived on this earth for more than thousand years. I kicked it, and fox flew away and broke nearby rose bush. Fox cried out in pain, when thorns scratched its body, and jumped out of the bush. It licked its scratches and looked at me.
I pced my hand on my sword's hilt and tried to calm down. I really wanted to kill it, but it was neither the time or pce for it. Besides, my friend Nelly asked me not to kill the kitsune, and the reason why I hated it, was that it nearly killed Nelly. Girl forgive the fox, but I could not forget the battle, and fox's role in it.
- I wish to talk to you human, - said fox and looked at me with its intelligent eyes.
- I am not a human, - I turned my back on it and left the temple grounds. My good mood was gone, and now I felt uncontrolble anger.
Kitsune followed me and started talking. I pretended that I did not hear it, but that did not stop the fox.
- I am sorry for attacking you, but I was bound to the dungeon, because of the contract that I made with the King of the Iron Mountains. But let me tell you some of his story.
"Long ago King of the Iron mountains was betrayed by two brothers that served him. They were powerful magicians, who stole his most powerful book of magic. That book contained Primordial magic spells. My master received magic book from an ancient dragon and used the knowledge from the book to build his home, which he ter called Bcksmith cave.
But two brothers wanted to become more powerful and stole the book, to learn its ancient spells. My master followed them and chased brothers across uninhabited nds. After one of the battles brothers separated. Older brother Ordas distracted the king's forces, while younger brother Finneas escaped with the spellbook. For some unknown reason, Finneas hid the book in uninhabited nds, before reuniting with his brother. My master was on their trail and both brothers escaped to Dark continent. There they became powerful necromancers and after my master death brothers returned, leading huge army of undead creatures. People who were loyal to the king fought them and brothers again suffered defeat. They again retreated to uninhabited nds.
But, during the invasion, Finneas imprisoned my family. He took them to uninhabited nds and sealed them inside the dungeon.
Finneas told his brother that he hid Primordial magic book in the Town of the dead. Believing his brothers words Ordas killed his brother. He went to the Town of the dead and after searching the town, that was transformed into dungeon, realized that his brother lied. Ordas was furious, but my masters forces were approaching him, and Ordas again had to flee this continent and hide in necromancers kingdom.
Seems that Finneas did not completely trusted his brother and never revealed him the true hiding pce, which he used to hide Primordial magic book. But thanks to my connection to my family, I know exactly where it is. If you promise to save my family, I will tell you where you can find the magic book. You can use Primordial magic and already possess my master Book of Light. But as powerful as Light spells are, they are still less powerful than Primordial magic spells.
I can tell you were to find that book."
I turned around and gred at kitsune:
- And why would you do that? And also how do you know, where the book is hidden? Where you not bound to the dungeon, alongside your master?
- I was. But the reason how do I know that is the same one that I am telling you. When Finneas stole the Primordial magic book, he also took my family as prisoners. He locked them up with the book. I was able to talk to them, when you freed me from the dungeon, and they told me that story. My family is in the same pce where the book is.
- Your family is not my concern. What keeps me from taking Primordial magic book and leaving your family.
- Nothing, - sighed the fox: - But as you know, I am quit powerful. Free my family and I promise to repay you however I can.
- I have no need of your services, - besides I had a contract with king-simurgh and without a summoner job or skill, I could not make any other contracts: - But if I free your family then you and your family will return to Bcksmith cave and serve the creatures who live there.
- If that is your price then I agree, - kitsune lowered his head: - But you should know that we can make contract only with someone who has blood of the gods running through his veins.
- What about a titan.
- Yes, that is possible. After all titans of Rakshasar are descendants of the original titans, or the ancient gods as you humans call them.
- Fine, - I grinned at kitsune, and the fox shivered. My grin was the same one the most devious viliness would have. As far as I knew, divine creatures like kitsune hated demons with all their heart. Serving succubus would be a worse punishment for them that I could come up with right now. Not to mention that the same would apply to all his family: - So, where can I found Primordial magic book.
- In the Darkness dungeon, deep inside uninhabited nds. In the dungeon's ten's floor, - with dignity said the fox: - I cannot tell you their precise...
I kicked the fox, and he smmed into the wall.
"Stupid, useless kitsune". Darkness dungeon - the dungeon that was located as far away as possible. I remembered its location on one of the maps, and it was very, very far away. I would need more than a year, or possible several, to reach it, since there were no roads in uninhabited nds. Primordial magic book was as inaccessible to me as a moon right now. That fox was as useless to me as I thought.
