Nelly spend three days near Avone's bed. After Herculian disappeared she waited a while, till some of her mana restored, and then used Trevor's and Luara's Gods mead elixirs on them. Those were st potions that they had left.
After they woke up, Nelly took dungeon core and Herculian's sword, and they used magic circle to leave the dungeon. Nelly was carrying nine-tailed fox, while Trevor and Luara were holding Avone. They returned to Mina, and Luara brought town's best healer. He used expensive potions, but it took Avone three days to regain her consciousness.
Nelly was sitting by Avone's bed, with little fox in her p. She was patting the fox to calm her down, when Avone slowly opened her eyes and looked around.
- Where am I? What's happening?
- Your awake! - Nelly jumped up and dropped the fox on the floor. She hugged Avone and started crying: - Your fine now.
- Of course I am, - Avone patted Nelly's back and let the girl to cry for a little while: - We are back in tavern?
- Yes. You killed undead king, and we finally conquered that dungeon. We found a dungeon core beyond second door, and, as soon as we took it, magic circle appeared in front of us. But you almost died. You would have and only barely survived.
- I see. How are the others?
- Everyone is fine. Oh, and this is Takazuchi, - Nelly picked up the fox: - Turns out he is a good fox, and was forced to attack us, because of the curse. Others are doing well. I had to use their Gods mead elixirs on them. On you too, but you were only one who did not wake up. Wait here!
Nelly run outside, and Avone looked around. She felt week and tired. Avone closed her eyes and waited for the girl to return. Almost an hour ter Nelly came back with an old man in white rob, whom she almost dragged along.
- S,o the patient woke up I see. How are you feeling?
- Tired and week.
- That makes sense, - he touched Avone's hand and examined her body: - Can you move?
- Yes, - Avone raised her hand, but soon it fell back on bed: - Why haven't I recovered by now?
- Because you did something stupid and nearly impossible. Your friend told me that you used simultaneously two spells from different magic schools. Do not know what made you do that, but if you ever try it again, you will definitely die. Not even Gods mead, that saved your life this time, will save you. Most mages do not know that, but Wisdom skill lets you use your mind in a way that it is not supposed to. Mages with low level and low life force stats always end up suffering memory loss and weakness of mind in their old age. Those of you who have high life force do recover after using high ranking spells, but you overused your abilities. Try it again and you will not succeed and definitely die in the process.
- Will I recover?
- Yes. I do not know how much life force you have, but it must be a lot. From what I can see, you already are slowly recovering. But it will take time. Weeks. I will leave you some concoctions, that you will need to drink daily. They will help you with your recovery. Also you are forbidden to use any magic for at least a month. And I mean no magic, no mana control, nothing.
- I understand. I can survive one month without magic.
- Even after that, you must take it slow.
He left dozen vial with nasty looking liquids and expined Nelly how to use them.
- Make sure she gets a lot of rest, - he ordered Nelly. After healer left, Luara and Trevor came inside and happily hugged Avone.
- Nice to see that you are alive, - smiled Luara.
- Nice to see that you are fine, too. What happened, after I lost consciousness.
- After you almost died, you mean, - corrected her Luara: - Nelly used her Gods mead potion to save you. So you owe her your life, just as we. She saved us too. We used teleportation circle to get out of the dungeon. We also recovered st artifact. Turns out that when I use them as a set, they increase all my stats by four and mana by one hundred, in addition to their other benefits. We took the dungeon core and saved it for you, since you like breaking them so much. Oh, and Nelly saved the fox, and keeps her as pet.
- I promised undead king not to kill her, - protected herself Nelly: - Well after he died and became friendlier spirit. But we are supposed to let Avone rest. So we should go. Oh, I almost forget, undead king rewarded you by changing your Swordsmanship skill to Master swordsman skill. Now rest.
Nelly almost pushed everyone out of Avone's room and ignored elf's question.
- He did what? - Avone started cursing, and Nelly quickly closed a door. But even when three friends were leaving, they still heard Avone's curses.
- Why is she in such a bad mood? - asked Trevor.
Nelly sighed.
- Well. Since her skill evolved, it is at novice level now. And all her skills, even what she calls additional skills are at advance level now. Which means that she will not be able to use or learn level five skills for a long, long time. Not until she will be able to get her Wisdom skill to master level again, which could take decades.
- Oh, and she was so happy and proud that her Wisdom skill reached master level, - nodded in understanding Luara.
- I almost feel bad for her, - said Trevor and Nelly agreed with him.
- Me too. Probably she will want to go dungeon hunting again, so we should enjoy rest, while we can. Healer said that she is forbidden to use magic for at least a month, so we will probably stay here a while.
- I like it here, - Luara licked her lips, remembering all fish dishes, that she could eat in Mina.
- You know Avone, - sighed Trevor: - She will drag us to some crazy quest in a few weeks. So, do not get your hopes up. We will be forced to undertake another dangerous adventure soon enough.
