I looked at the swarm that had formed—an army. I used Appraisal and looked toward them; there was so much information that I almost went insane. 'Well, they're all normal finjicotes. I guess that's fine.'
Some of them are very close to evolving, though.
I smiled as the finjicotes flew toward me.
But before they could reach me, I disappeared from where I was and ran up the wall, then jumped onto one of them. I decided to do the following: whenever I attack, I'll switch the speed edit to strength, just like I've been doing.
I edited my strength to 1,000 and "punched" it, sending it flying into the wall and killing it. Then I shot my thread at the ceiling and hung there, waiting to be attacked. Since these monsters are idiots, they started attacking me without thinking.
They approached, and I swung back and forth on my thread, striking them with my legs. It was like I was boxing. With my abnormal strength, they died in a single hit.
However…
SP 24/70
My SP was being drained quickly.
But fortunately—
[ "Small Taratect LV1" became "Small Taratect LV2" ]
I leveled up, and my SP went back to 70.
That's what I need to do.
To keep my SP from reaching 0, I just need to keep killing them and leveling up!
'HAHAHAHAHAHA!'
Laughing and feeling incredibly excited, I kept swinging on my thread, drawing the finjicotes toward me. This is really easy—too easy. They attacked me with their stingers, but they couldn't hurt me.
I was poisoned, but their poison didn't affect me much because of my resistance.
Honestly, since the fight started, my HP probably hasn't dropped below 60.
Time passed.
Many finjicote bodies were scattered on the ground below. Some were even "stuck" to the byrinth wall because of the force with which I hit them. Their bodies had basically been crushed apart.
Even though they're dumb, the finjicotes realized it was useless to keep attacking me like that.
I stopped swinging and hung upside down from the ceiling.
The normal finjicotes had disappeared, leaving mostly High Finjicotes behind.
'Are they smarter?' No, I don't think so. They're like the queen's generals—they were commanding all those finjicotes. They don't have any real strategy; they're just as dumb as the monsters in this pce.
That makes things much simpler.
I deactivated the edit on my strength and switched it to speed. Then I jumped toward the nest. The High Finjicotes couldn't keep up with my movements, and when I nded on the massive nest, I switched the edit back to strength.
I began smashing the nest with my legs, breaking it apart.
'How disgusting! There are eggs in here!'
Feeling repulsed, I crushed all the eggs and started tearing apart the entire nest.
That enraged the High Finjicotes, and they all flew toward me.
I switched to speed and fled. Once I reached the wall behind them, I jumped straight into the group of flying finjicotes. While still in the air, I switched the edit to strength and struck several of them at once.
It was like a cannonball hitting them midair.
I ughed when I saw the level-up notification appear. My SP and HP filled up again, and many monsters were killed.
'This is fun. This is way more fun than staying at home reading novels and pying video games! I feel like I really wasted my old life!'
I've never felt like this before.
My heart is pounding!
####
As soon as the finjicotes were torn apart, I quickly edited my speed again and ran along the wall to the ceiling. Then I threw myself onto two of them and switched the edit from speed to strength.
I dragged them down to the ground and crushed their heads with my legs.
Even though they were fairly rge, it was easy.
If any human saw me fighting now, they'd probably be shocked.
I looked up. The remaining finjicotes backed away and flew toward the nest. 'Are they going to protect the queen or something?'
I gnced at the notification showing that I had just reached level 6 and licked my imaginary lips. 'If I kill all of them, I'll probably get very close to level 10. I'm excited.'
The best decision I ever made was coming back here to wipe these guys out.
I deactivated the edit on my strength and edited my speed.
'HAHAHAHA!'
Smiling, I ran up the wall at high speed and threw myself into the nest, right where the finjicotes were. I nded on it and stared at them.
'The queen must be inside the nest, right beneath them. Wouldn't it be easier to go inside and protect her, idiots? You just showed me exactly where she is.'
'Your queen is already dead!' I shouted mentally as I charged at them.
They panicked and tried to stab me with their stingers, but I practically ignored them. I was poisoned again, and my HP began to drop slowly.
But I don't care.
Since I can't grab them—I don't have fingers—I just struck them to send them flying.
My reaction time is very good.
Whenever a stinger came close, I could hit the finjicote's rear with my leg, tearing off a chunk of it.
'Their numbers are dropping quickly.'
I've already reached level 7.
How many are left? Ten? They're all High Finjicotes.
I'm surprised there were so many of them in the same nest.
'You won't come to me? Then I'll go to you!'
I edited my speed and charged, pushing off with my legs and grabbing one of them with all eight legs. Then I switched the edit to strength and crushed it. It was so satisfying that I let out a sigh.
After a few more minutes, they were all dead.
The only one left was the queen, who hadn't even bothered to leave the nest to help her subordinates.
'What a terrible queen.'
With a sinister smile, I looked at my status. I had reached level 8, and many skills had leveled up—including Appraisal.
With my strength set to 5,000, I started breaking apart the nest. Then the queen appeared, flying out.
'Oh, she's much bigger than the others… I guess she's kind of beautiful?'
