'Hm?' I opened my eyes and noticed that I was in the same pce; nothing had changed. The web I had created was still there as well. 'Great, I wasn't attacked or anything like that.' Then I saw the system messages.
The first message that caught my attention was the same one I saw before going to sleep.

Seeing that made my heart race, and my spider mouth curled into a smile I hadn't made in a long time. I finally leveled up the "Editing" skill—it's definitely much stronger now!
And the other messages?
Well, they were about my evolution.

Some of my spider-lineage skills leveled up, but nothing much beyond that changed. 'Hmmm…' Then I tried to leave the hole. Before, I didn't touch the byrinth walls—but now I do.
My body got a little bigger, didn't it?
I think my legs are a bit longer too.

I let out a sigh and noticed that the edits I had made were undone. So when I evolve, any edits I applied get deactivated. Well, I guess that makes sense. 'Alright, let's take a look at this new version of the Editing skill.'
I selected the skill, and nothing changed.

There's no list expining what the skill is capable of. 'Couldn't it at least show the limits of the skill?! Having to discover every limitation on my own is annoying!' I shouted mentally, waving my front legs.
After cursing the system for a few seconds, I decided to run some tests.
I tried editing one stat to 10,000.
Average Offense Ability: 64Edit Applied!Average Offense Ability: 10,000
It worked perfectly. After a few tests, I concluded that the limit really is 10,000.
However, something else changed.
Now I can edit two stats at the same time!
I raised my attack and speed to 10,000, but when I tried running using all that speed… for some reason, I couldn't control my body very well. I guess I'm just not used to it.
I smmed into the wall and groaned in pain.

'WHAT THE HELL!? I LOST THAT MUCH HP?!'
I cried while removing the edits I had made. I also noticed that my body had really reached its limit with that. My SP dropped to almost 10 just from that small movement.
When I set my speed to 5,000 instead, my SP wasn't drained nearly as fast.
Well, maybe that's because I crashed into the byrinth wall…
'Hmmm… Now that I think about it, can't I deal with those guys?' The image of the finjicotes came to mind. Being able to edit two stats at once, I think I can destroy that nest.
If I increase my defense and speed, can't I kill them?
I don't even need to raise my attack to fight them.
I just have to be careful not to get poisoned, that's all. And with my speed being much higher than theirs, I don't think they'll be able to hit me.
'Besides, my poison resistance leveled up again.'
Well, I'm not afraid of those little guys anymore.
And besides, I'm hungry!

I looked at the map, and the nest's location was marked. My memory isn't very good, so that's a big help. I slowly approached the area where the nest was located.
Since I have night vision, I could see everything clearly.
'Urgh, it really is big.' How many monsters are inside that nest? Around 50? No, it must be fewer than that—especially now that some have already been killed. 'Some of them are outside. Are they like guards?'
I checked their status, and they were all mid-level finjicotes.
The High Finjicotes must be inside.
The sound of their wings is really loud.
'Alright, let's apply the edits.'
Let's edit my defense and speed. I won't set the numbers too high—just enough to deal with these guys. Even the High Finjicotes probably don't have an average stat above 200.

I set 5,000 in each stat—that should be enough to keep me safe. I just need to keep an eye on my SP. I'll even leave my status window open so there's no risk of it dropping to 0.
If it hits 0 during a fight against these guys, I'm dead.

I waited for a while, and my HP and SP were almost full. Great.
I looked up, and the guards still hadn't noticed my presence.
'Since the nest is up high, I'll have to use the walls.' I took a deep breath and ran toward the wall on the right, sprinting upward at high speed. The finjicote guards didn't notice me, and I got close to the nest.
So, I unched myself towards the ceiling and swung using my web towards one of the guards.
I bit it and clung to it as we both fell toward the ground.
When we hit the ground, I bit it several times and struck it with my legs. Even with my low attack, I killed it easily.
However, that drew attention.
The other three finjicotes alerted the ones inside the nest, and a swarm formed.
'I just see a huge amount of EXP!'
