Vincent called me into his tent. Marty and Pyra are both sitting across from him.

  "Caleb. It's good to see you, go ahead and take a seat." Vincent tells me.

  He points at a seat in between the other two.

  "What's all this about?" I ask him.

  He gives me a concerned look. He sits up in his chair and pulls out a small letter.

  "I called the three of you in here for an important mission." He tells us.

  "I just got back from a mission! I'd like to rest a little." I say.

  "I know Caleb, but this isn't something we can just ignore." He says.

  I guess I have to do this one. At least I'm not with strangers this time. But what's so important he'd need the three of us? The other two sit silent. Do they already know what this mission is? Vincent sets the letter on the table.

  "We got this letter from a small vilge, just near the shores of the elf territories." He points towards the letter.

  Marty opens it and pces it down on the table. The three of us lean in to get a better look.

  "Dear Vincent Gallenta,

  I am the st survivor in a small vilge just outside the elven territory. A rge creature has appeared, just off of our shores. It's initial arrival made many evacuate. As it moved closer to our vilge, the water level rose. Eventually it killed the rest of the inhabitants. I ask for your soldiers help."

  What kind of monster could do something like this? It can just kill an entire town.

  "This sounds weird. Are you sure it's not a trap?" Marty asks Vincent.

  "I'm certain! From what observers have seen, it sounds like a colossal." Vincent tells us.

  What's a colossal? I don't think anybody ever told me about these.

  "There's still some left? I thought the heroes killed the st of them!" Marty says.

  I look over at Pyra. She looks just as confused as me.

  "What's a colossal? I've never heard of it!" I say.

  Marty and Vincent both look towards me. Marty nods at Vincent.

  "It's the final stage of a giant. Specifically ones with the giant disease." Vincent informs me.

  "I've never actually seen one!" Marty excims.

  That expnation didn't help. What makes them different from the average giant?

  "This isn't something to be happy about Marty!" Vincent shouts.

  Vincent wipes his face with his palm. He calms his voice down.

  "There's a reason I specifically pick you three." Vincent expins.

  "Because we're the strongest." Marty smirks.

  "I don't want to do a mission without another mage!" Pyra shouts out.

  What's her problem? Why is she so obsessed with magic. Does she have some sort of disease?

  "Sorry Pyra, but things don't work like that." Vincent sighs.

  "Can I bring at least bring one student?" She begs.

  "No, it's far too dangerous!" Vincent dismisses.

  Is he sure Wick wouldn't be better for this mission? I know Ann has both Marty's and Pyra's respect, maybe they should bring her instead. And even if I have to go, what the hell is the difference from a giant and a colossal?

  "I'm still confused on this whole colossal situation! What makes it so special?" I ask.

  "I also don't know what a colossal is." Pyra adds quietly.

  Marty ughs a little at this.

  "These kids have no idea about our days!" He chuckles, "Maybe I should give you kids a little history lesson!"

  That could help a little... But I thought Marty and Vincent were like thirty. They weren't even alive during Peter's heroing days.

  "The giants are a blessed race, so to speak. The magic god gave many of them a rge amount of mana. Once the magic god died... that extra mana changed them. People began calling this the giant disease. Around twenty years ago, the oldest giants with this disease started to grow. Their skin shed, leaving just flesh and bones showing. They grew strong. The st couple of heroes spent their whole lives killing them." Marty expins.

  The giant disease is because of magic? Could the burning man be connected to them. This may be a harder mission than I thought.

  "Be ready by midnight. Your carriage is already prepared for your depart." Vincent tells us.

  We're leaving already? Reed isn't even back from his mission yet. I guess I should go talk to the others than. Marty gets up and leaves, I follow just behind him. Pyra stays back, I hear her say something to Vincent.

  "What are my students going to do while I'm gone?" She asks.

  I get far enough to not hear Vincent's response. I go over to my tent first. Mark and Wick are pying cards.

  "Hey guys! How's it going?" I ask.

  "Good, I've got a pretty nice winning streak." Wick brags.

  "Nice, nice... I've got another mission tonight." I mutter.

  "They're making you go back already?" Mark shouts.

  I nod, they both stand up and give me a hug.

  "Be careful, man. Just make sure not to over work yourself." Mark says.

  "You got it! Once I get back, we'll all go on a mission together!" I shout as I walk out of the tent.

  I already have my weapons on me. I shouldn't need anything else. I'll go check the training grounds and library next. At the training grounds is Henry.

  "Caleb! I've been looking for you, Peter has been trying to train me or something." He jokes.

  "Yeah, same here. I've got another mission, tonight." I tell him.

  "What? They're really making you go out after you had to fight a holy knight st time." He shouts.

  "Yeah, this one'll be even harder." I say.

  He gives me side hug.

  "Don't let them overwork you! You've got a king to kill soon." He ughs.

  "I've still got five months before then!" I chuckle.

  I walk over to the library next. I get to the tables. Peter is reading to Mal. Ann is sitting next to them.

  "Since when did you three get so close?" I joke.

  "Your friend here might be the cutest little thing I've ever seen." Marty squeezes Mal's cheek, "And miss Ann is quite the mage!"

  "I'm gd you guys are getting along." I say, "I have something to tell you guys."

  The three of them all look over at me.

  "I've got another mission coming up. So i just wanted to say bye to you all." I tell them.

  Peter stands up and gives me a hug, Ann and Mal follow after him.

  "Don't hurt yourself." Ann says.

  "Who are you going with?" Peter asks.

  "Pyra and Marty." I tell him.

  Ann gives me a smug look. It must be about Pyra going on this mission.

  "Well, it's getting dark. I've got to head out." I tell them.

  I walk out of the library. Marty is waiting outside for me.

  "There you are! We're departing in less than an hour." Marty tells me.

  "I'm ready to leave now." I tell him.

  We walk over to the secret tunnel. It's much less crowded than usual. There's a carriage waiting for us just outside of the tunnel. Pyra is already sitting inside. The two of us get in and we leave.
