Chapter 15- Interview

The three men lead us to another room. This one has a couch and a desk. Ann, Mark, and Mal all sit down on the couch while me, Wick, and Reed stand off to the side. One of the men sits down behind the desk and the other two men leave. He gives us a serious look and starts asking us questions.

After talking to our group a rge man in armor takes each of us into another room one by one. Ann goes first. A while ter it's Mark, than Reed. Wick goes after that. Wick's takes the longest but they eventually come and get Mal. I'm st and the man behind the desk tells me he will be talking to me instead of the guard.

"Is there any reason for that?" I ask.

He gives me a strange look.

  "It's just faster." He says.

I sit down onto the couch. He waits a second before talking.

"How did you know Bud?" He asks me.

"I worked on his teachers farm." I say.

  "How did he die?"

  "He was tortured to death."

He looks surprised by this. I can tell he's thinking about what to sat next. Now that I think about it me and Wick are the only people who say Bud die. We didn't even know him much at all.

"How did you learn of his death?" He asks.

I look him in the eyes. He has an emptiness in them that wasn't there before. Maybe Bud was a good friend of his.

"I watched it. He was killed to punish me." I say.

He continues with questions about this. I don't think he was talking to me like he did the others. He must know me. I tell him about the situation with Louis's students and how they want to kill me. He looks disappointed with this. After he finished up with the questions about Bud he finally gets to the things he must have talked to the others about.

He asks what my business with the revolution is, How I knew about this location, and my opinions on certain things. After all the questions are wrapped up he takes me to the room the others were in. The room is just a table and two chairs. The walls are completely cement, the only exception is two doors. He walk through the other door. It leads to a rge room. It's filled with people standing around talking. We walk down a path to the other side of the room. The others are all there.

Somebody comes up to us with a paper. He talks in another nguage that I can't understand while looking down at his paper. He looks up at us and switches to English.

"Right this way please." They say.

We walk through another door. It leads just outside the vilge. It's a rge camp filled with soldiers. The man takes us to a tent with the other two men from before. They once again are standing around a table. They look towards and walk over. One of them shoos the person with the paper off and begins to talk to us.

"Welcome heroes." One of them says.

They bow and walk back over to the table. We walk over to them. The table has a map of Erin on it.

"We've been waiting for a hero to show y'know." The other man says.

The other one walks out of the tent after he says this. They don't tell us what we're doing here nor what this pce even is. I've looked on maps and the vilge is shown but not this camp.

"What is this pce?" I ask.

"This is the revolutionary base." He says, "We are in a field of magic that makes us completely invisible unless you go through our tunnel."

He expins what the pn is. Over the past year they've had people spying on the king and the castle. On the other side of the mountain the king is located at is a rge waterfall. They believe that the waterfall is how to get in the castle. A month from now we will set out towards the castle. Before that a special team will train the six of us. We're gonna need to get stronger since we may be the only ones capable of killing the king.

We get shown to another tent. We sleep in this one. Our first training session is in the morning. I'm not sure that'll be enough time though. I'll speak to the guys in charge about it tomorrow.

I wake up earlier than everyone else. I walk out of the tent to a completely empty camp. Yesterday it was extremely busy, now it's a whole new pce. I walk back over to the pce the three men were in. One of them is already up and is staring at the map. He turns towards me.

"Ah, hero! It's good to see you." He says.

"Just call me Cal." I say.

"Alright Cal, you can call me Vincent." He says, "Now, what're you doing up so early?"

"I came to talk to one of you about something." I tell him.

He give me a serious look. I walk over to him.

"I'm not sure a month is enough time." I tell him.

"I'm not sure it's enough either... But the others insist on it." He says.

"We can't convince them?" I ask.

"No, the longer we wait, the more people get hurt."

We talk about this for a while longer. We decide to wait for the other two to wake up. These three are the only ones who can really change the pns.

The other two walk in the room. They ask what were doing and Vincent tells them we should wait a few months instead of just rushing in unprepared. They dismiss this idea completely. I tell them I can't even kill a couple adventures so how how am I supposed to kill a king. They tell me the trainings enough.

"Not to mention we have six heroes! We'll be fine." One of them says.

"Only three of us are... The others live here." I tell them.

"Still! We'll succeed." The other says, "Just you wait."

They send me out of the tent. I walk back to the other. A soldier sits outside of the tent. They're right by the door. They notice me and ask if I'm Caleb. I tell him yes and he takes me over a rge dirt field. It's surrounded by a fence. On the field is everyone else a man holding a sword. We walk over to them.

The man tells us his name is Marty and expins how he will be our teacher. He'll train us the best he can over the next month, and with his guidance we'll be able to sy ten dragons in a single swing.

First thing we do is grab a weapon. The have wooden tools and armor so we don't hill each other. We each take the weapon we use the most. Mark has never fought before though so he just grabs a sword. Marty tells us to get in groups of two. We have to spar each other. Me and reed go against each other. The other groups are Mal and Mark, and Wick versus Ann.

We get onto a small makeshift battle field. Me and Reed have to go first. Once the fight starts Reed Hurls rge fireballs at me. They move fast, I'm barely able to dodge them. I start moving closer each time I dodge one. He stops throwing fire at me, I use this opportunity to rush in. He lets me get close and uses a wind spell to send me back. But my barriers block it and get flung instead of me. He moves at least twenty feet back so to close the distance I use magic to strengthen my legs. I move faster than he can react and I hit him. The rules are on hit with your weapon is a win. Me and Reed sit down and wait for the others to be done.

I look over at Reed and he seems disappointed in his lose. He tells me he wanted to show off my magic but I'm too fast. I tell him he's strong he just needs more real battle experience. I've been in nonstop battles since we've got here. I really didn't notice how much stronger I am.
