I've already been working on Louis's farm for a month. He taught me everything he knowns. Everyday is a different crop to harvest. One day it's tomatoes the next is wheat, then after that is grapes. Some nights I may have to stay up to protect the farm from animals. Louis handles it mostly because of his magic but he even he gets tired. He pays me each week, I already have twenty silver from working here. It's a lot less than I made from adventuring but it's enough for a small town like this. It's the middle of summer as of right now, it gets cold at night luckily. The days are always the same. I don't know if my injury is fully heal yet to be honest. Some days I wake up with a huge headache. It bled a lot during the first week but that stopped. Louis has been using healing magic on me every night. I hope I heal soon. The others may be in trouble or are even looking for me. I already have everything pnned out. I'll head to the town we visited before and ask around. Then after that... I don't know. I just need things to work out if I'm gonna be truly honest. As of right now it's about mid day. The harvesting part of my day is already finished. I'm walking down to the shop. When I get there Mark always greats me. He's a good dude, we usually talk a good bit. He was the old farm hand for Louis until he hurt his back. Now he runs the store.

  "Oh, Caleb. Nice to see you man!" Mark says.

  "Hey Mark. How's business today?" I ask.

  "Eh, its the same as usual I guess." He tells me.

  "Luckily that's still pretty good!"

  "Yeah. Oh did Louis tell you about the adventures in town?" he asks.

  "No. What's up with them?" I ask.

  Apparently a party of four came into town. They all look young and are staying in the inn. I thank Mark for telling me and walk over to the inn. I go up to the person at the counter and ask if a group of adventures had come by recently. They said a group just went got a room a little bit ago and should be there now. I ask what room they may be in but she won't tell me.

  "What's your price?" I ask.

  "One silver." They tell me.

  I hand them the silver. They're in room One hundred four. It's the third room down the first hall. I walk up to the door and knock. Someone opens the door. It's a rge man and three other people. He asks what I'm doing knocking on their door.

  "Wrong door, sorry!" I say.

  He gives me a strange look and sms the door. I walk out of the inn and walk back to Louis's home. Mark said they looked young? Damn liar... This is the third time a group has come through here and it's never been them. I'm really starting to wonder if they're even alive. I get back home and Louis is talking to Mark in the kitchen. They notice me.

  "Hey Caleb! Welcome home." Louis says.

  "Was the party your friends?" Mark asks.

  "No. Just another group of people.

  Mark and Louis both tell me it'll be fine. Mark says they may be looking for me some where else. Louis looks me in the eyes and asks if I really believe they're alive. I tell him no.

  "What was your party's goal?" Louis asks.

  "To kill someone." I answer.

  HE walks out of the room. Mark looks at me. He seems concerned. I just notice that we're the same age. Yet he looks as if he's never been in a fight his whole life. Over the past two months I've already almost died plenty of time. I've noticed murder or other forms of death so much it doesn't affect me at all. To these two I'm a mystery. I've found Louis is the man we need a long time ago. If I tell him the man we're killing is the king there's no telling what he'd do. I've seem him fight monsters that attack the farm. He's far stronger than me or anyone in our group. But even then I know he won't kill me. No matter what my goal is. He's nice and helps others. All he wants is a peaceful life on the farm. This life is nice. At this point I don't know whether I should stay or if I should leave. I want to go home, I really do. But maybe if i could live how Louis does I could truly be happy. Or maybe I could get over the fact I'm the reason they all died.

  I went to bed early st night. When I woke up Louis had company. It was a small group of adventures. The same from yesterday. I try to get out of the door but one of them notices me. The one that noticed me was the person at the door. He's a tall bald man with a bck beard. There's two guys next to him with brown hair. Those two look like siblings. The other person is a woman with bck hair. She's farther away than the others so it's hard to see her face and other strong features. The one man is still staring at me so I walk over.

  "You're that kid from before right?" He asks.

  "Yeah." I answer.

  "Did you ever find the right door." He says in a joke like tone.

  "No." I say.

  He looks at me with a disappointed look. Louis introduces me to them. They are his students from when he was a soldier. They all are in the same party. The man with the bck beard is the leader. The other two guys are twins, and the girl is a skilled swordswoman. She has single handedly killed dragons. Louis talks proudly while describing them. He clearly did a good job teaching them. The leader tells me they're gonna help me find my friends. That's why Louis brought them here. Louis gives me a rge smile while tells me this. They ask me to describe them. I tell them about everyone in the party. The leader looks surprised and tell me he saw them here st night. They were staying in the room next to theirs.
