Chapter 7- An orc’s land

I'm finally healed enough to set off. That one town gave us a huge start. Not to mention the old man we worked for said he owned other shops in different towns that would be happy for us to do work there. While I was still injured Reed tested his new magic knowledge. Wick told me he was really skilled at it. Being able to kill multiple wolves in just one attack. We have bags of silver and copper plus three gold pieces. In Ann's words we're practically rich. We buy a small wagon just big enough to carry all of us and our gear. We also looked at horses but most were too expensive still. They are a rarity in the human nds, only being used by very important people like nobles and high ranked soldiers. We have an actual goal now making the journey a bit easier. Ann says if we're gonna do this we'd need two contacts. The revolutionary army, a strong group going against the king for his ideas and a man named Louis Vertang. He used to work with king but was let go after losing both of his eyes. He is the only man not currently serving him that know how to get into the kings castle. It's on a rge mountain that can't be scaled even with magic. I ask Ann which we should go after first, she says Louis is much closer since he lives in the orc territory which is the direction we are already going. If he comes with us we'll start going to the revolutions base.

We head out on the road. There's at the very least three more vilges before we reach the orc's territory. Once we reach there we have to be very careful. Orcs hate humans because the king is always trying to take their nd. If we run into one we could be in serious danger and we may have to avoid all the towns there. We pass through two of the vilges quickly. Reed, Wick, and Ann have been taking turns pulling the wagon. We move quick and don't spend much time in the towns. At the second vilge a dy warned us that an orc is just past the third and to watch out. We thank her for the warning but we all mostly ignore it. One orc in the human's territory is not much of a problem. We could probably just ignore it or avoid it. We reach the third vilge and people are hiding inside their homes. We look around the shopping district but all the stands are shut down. We think about staying the night so we head to an inn. Inside is a young dy. She stills at the front desk reading a book not noticing us. I walk up tot he desk to get her attention. She finally looks up at me.

"What're you doing here?" She asks.

  "Getting a room." I say.

"Don't you know about the orcs around here? Just head back to whatever pce you came from." She says in a snarky voice.

"Can I just get a room please?" I ask.

She looks at me and sighs. She hands me the key and says the room is three copper a night. Once we get into the room Mal instantly falls asleep. It's only two beds. I take the sacrifice of sleeping on the floor. We need some food for the morning so I head out to look for a diner or food stand. Most pces are still closed but there is one shop open. It's a small pce but there's some expensive items in here. I realize it may not have food here but before I can leave she shop owner comes out. He's a short old man with gsses. He waves me over to the counter. I walk up and he starts talking with me.

"Say son why are you out of your home right now? The orcs will be here very soon." He says.

"Oh, I'm just looking for some food for me and my group." I tell him.

He gives me a small bag with two loafs of bread and sends me out the door. I head back to the inn. On my way I see behind a house is two rge green men. They seem to be talking so I don't bother them. Though I wonder if those are the orcs everyone is talking about? Meh I'll look into it tomorrow. I get back to the inn. Reed asks me what I got. I show him the loafs of bread. He asks if that's all and I tell him we'll get some in the morning since most pces are closed. I sit for awhile before i finally go to sleep.

I wake up ter than usual. Everyone is already awake and waiting for me. They each took a few bites of bread but they all wanted to go get some other food and save the bread. We walk out into the shopping district and it's extremely crowed. It's like a whole new pce out here. After some time of looking we find ourselves in the same shop I was in yesterday. The shop owner recognizes me.

"Ah kid. I'm gd you got home safe st night!" he tells me.

I ask him why everybody is so scared of the orcs here. He says if they catch you outside they rob you and if you don't comply they even kill you. But nobody here is a warrior so everyone just stays inside. I tell him we'll deal with them. He asks if I'm really sure and I tell him we can do it. He thanks me a bunch. I go tell the group and they all seem shocked by that.

"You sure we can kill orcs?" Reed asks.

"We killed a giant, didn't we?" I say.

"That was one, we have no idea how many there may be." Wick tells me.

I ignore this and tell him we'll do it anyways. We just have to wait until night. Then we wait for the orcs to leave and we attack them at their base. It's a simple pn really. Everyone else seems to not like this idea. But I tell them we'll be fine. We get food and wait for night. We sit on the roof of our inn. After a good while orcs start appearing a throughout town. They stay for a few hours. They start leaving and pick one to follow. It walks by our inn and we follow close behind it. The orc moves into the forest. It moves deep in the forest. After a good while of following the orc finally leads us to the orc's territory. Just past the borders is rge orc camp with maybe ten to fifteen orcs. Reed fires a rge fire spell at them. It kills maybe three or four instantly. I charge in but the orcs know were hear this time. I charge one and am about to stab it but I feel a rge piece of wood sm into my head. I can feel my consciousness fading as my vision turns bck.
