Chapter 24: Trauma

"You have to close your eyes and make sure there's no overwhelming resistance in your heart."

He thought for several minutes about Raven's proposal before reluctantly agreeing. He also warned Raven not to do anything unnecessary, or there would be serious consequences.

"If I sense any danger, any of your magic won't have enough time to activate in front of me."

"You better not py me. If I feel any danger, it's going to be really, really bad for you."

Raven eagerly nodded and promised that he would remain completely awake during the process.

The two of them changed locations and found an abandoned warehouse. She extended a finger, carefully and slowly pointing it toward the center of Viktor's forehead.

Just before their skin was about to touch, Viktor seemed to hear her swallow again.

In the next moment, the memories, which had been somewhat blurred due to the pressure environment of Viltrum and the passage of time, gradually became clearer in Viktor's mind.

  "Huh?"

Viktor and Raven seemed to be watching a movie of life together.

The memories from his past life were completely hidden. Raven could only see a long stretch of darkness, but could sense that Viktor's soul had already begun to mature gradually.

After gncing at him, Raven didn't express any opinions. After a long time in the darkness, the memories started to slowly unfold.

"Oh? Another elite, and this child's awakening level is quite good."

Before Viktor could fully open his eyes, a few rge hands passed him around in turn, with some of them seeming quite satisfied with his qualities.

"This kid has great strength, almost broke my finger—take him and put him in the elite zone's cultivation chamber."

During his brief childhood, Viktor spent most of his time in the nurturing chamber. Even though he was cssified as an elite, not many adults paid much attention to him after that.

Occasionally, he was allowed out for some fresh air, and they would give him strange-looking toys to py with. However, Viktor had no interest in them, and he would simply sit quietly in pce when he was let out.

Raven happily squinted her eyes, and as the scene reached this part, Viktor's soul began to feel different, with all kinds of strange emotions.

The first was loneliness filled with confusion. From the age of one, Viktor had to regurly watch films provided by them.

The content was complex, including Viltrum's beliefs and culture, as well as parts of warriors dispying their power on other pnets.

He finally understood where those strange toys came from.

They were spoils taken from various civilizations that had been wiped out in the universe. The Viltrumites, with their bloodstained hands, would simply choose and collect these as trophies.

By the age of two, Viktor had left the nurturing chamber, but he still had to undergo regur tests every day. This included observing his superpower development, as well as blood tests and physical examinations.

The films got even more detailed, including the history of the Viltrum, nguage lessons, and combat and killing techniques.

  Viktor's soul experienced some fluctuation.

At the age of three, Viktor was thrown into a group of children, with some of these children being older, while others seemed to be about the same age as him. The older ones were around seven or eight years old.

The adult who brought him in spoke sternly.

"Viktor, you are an elite viltrumite. The others around you are all Viltrumite who were found to be unqualified from the moment they were born. Your task is to kill them all."

Then, the adult turned to speak to the other children.

"From the moment you were born, you've been nothing more than inferior products, but thanks to your glorious Viltrumite genes, you're still able to adapt to Viltrum's gravity, which is twenty-five times heavier than normal pnets. You also have considerable combat abilities, and if you don't want to be beled as unqualified for your entire life, use all your strength to kill the elite among you!"

Viktor's soul began to tremble violently.

The words that completely destroyed the worldview he had built over twenty years in his past life had a strong, shocking impact on his soul.

Raven's face was now flushed, but simirly, her expression showed incredible shock.

The Raven in the real world couldn't help but quietly observe Viktor, who had already opened his eyes, but only to see his gaze carried an indescribable emptiness.

Three days ter, the door to the room was finally opened.

Viktor, covered in blood, was brought out by that person, who was satisfied. He also received his first formal praise and commendation on this pnet.

"You're truly an elite... and let me check whose descendant you are... Oh, you're actually Lord Thragg's bloodline, no wonder."

He smiled and held Viktor, whose eyes were empty, in his hands, like a swordsman holding a precious sword that had not yet been fully forged.

At the age of five, Viktor entered Viltrum's elite training css for that year.

At eight years old, he stood in front of a completely white training room, with his instructor giving him very serious instructions about what to do next.

"Remember the standards—elite, unqualified, and inferior. I will pick out the first two categories. You stay here and destroy all those inferior ones."

Looking at the little ones curled up crying in the incubators, Viktor's empty eyes grew even darker, filled with a sense of dead silence.

Raven's body began to tremble as well, and the impact of this scene was just as strong on her as when Trigon's magic corrupted other worlds.

And right here, Viktor's soul seemed to age by more than a decade.

At the age of ten, as an outstanding student among the elites, Viktor was given the opportunity to observe the glory of battle firsthand.

He boarded a spaceship, traveling for light-years, and for the first time, he flew through the natural sky, watching the Viltrumites, ready for action, fly past him overhead.

Then brought catastrophic destruction to this pnet with fifty million intelligent life forms.

After a month, the blood-covered instructor flew back with a grim smile, bringing the expressionless Viktor to the pnet's st refuge gathering point.

"Viktor, my most outstanding student, I saved this specially for you. Those elites staying at home won't experience this feeling so quickly."

He pointed to the group of survivors, huddled in the corner, too hopeless to even cry. These were the st thousand who had survived.

The rough, rge hand pushed Viktor from behind.

  "Go! Enjoy your glory!"

Ten minutes ter, Viktor, drenched in blood, suddenly roared, exploding from the mountain of corpses and sea of blood, transforming into a crimson lightning bolt, punching toward the instructor's heart.

However, the instructor was a warrior who had fought for Viltrum for over a thousand years. After a brief surprise, he spped Viktor to the ground.

"Have you gone mad? How dare you attack me? A Viltrum who cannot stay calm and think during a massacre is also an inferior!"

Later, at the age of fourteen, Viktor was specially selected to participate in the conquest with other seventeen-year-old Viltrumites.

After learning that the pnet for this conquest was special, not only extremely distant, but requiring the complete genocide of the entire pnet's popution to complete the Rite of Passage, a faint light suddenly began flickering again in Viktor's pupils that had been dead for ten years.

It would take a long time for this to complete if it were wiping out the entire popution of a pnet.

  ....

The final scene showed him slowly descending from the sky. He nded softly, put his hands behind his back, and stood right in the middle of a crowd.

Their eyes filled with hatred and madness, with thousands of gazes stabbed into him like sharp daggers.

However, Viktor seemed completely unaffected by these stares.

"Titan is beyond saving. In three months, the Viltrumites will wipe out your entire pnet. If you continue resisting, you won't even leave behind the seeds of your civilization!"

There was a hint of confusion among the deep hatred in the eyes around him. He extended his right hand, opened his palm, and a square storage chip quietly y in his hand.

"Your unity is commendable. The army has gone to the front lines without hesitation, leaving almost all of Titanian's top scientific research talents in this refuge."

"This is a design pn for an escape spaceship developed by another civilization in their final moments. Their technology level is nearly identical to yours, and it will perfectly match the production capacity you have left."

  Viktor said quietly.

"We are using an extermination strategy. These three months are your st chance. You'll leave some seeds of civilization and go into the universe to find a pnet far from Viltrum."
