19. Destined Protector

“Whoa, it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop soon,” Ken whispered while looking at the rain.

“What are they doing in this rain?” he wondered while walking.

He didn’t realize the intense battle going on there.

  Meanwhile, at the battlefield,

“This man is unbelievable,” Galen thought while dodging a sword.

“How am I supposed to beat this guy?” he calculated all kinds of possibilities.

Veris, on the other hand, didn’t even realize Medrick escaped from the house as he was fully focused on fighting Galen.

“Maybe I should save Vittario first,” Medrick approached Vittario.

“Sorry, Roger, for me, this seems right at this point,” he started carrying Vittario on his shoulders.

“I should save him somehow,” he started running towards the north, too.

Galen saw this while fighting Veris and felt half-relieved.

His concentration increased a lot after he saw Medrick.

  After 2 minutes,

“What in the world is happening here?” Ken was shocked after seeing the field.

“What happened to Roger? Where are others?” his mind raised so many questions.

“Did Galen know how to fight? What is happening here?” he had no clue what had happened there.

“I am at my lowest energy, should I go full on? What next then?” Veris wondered.

“Maybe I should; he will be here soon, so I might as well end this,” he decided to use it again.

  Imperial Surge!!

The attack, which moves at the speed of flash with high precision on target, has been unleashed.

“It’s that attack, Ahhhhh,” his reaction couldn’t save him as he fell.

But he is not the only one to fall, as Veris also falls due to exhaustion.

Even the high-blowing wind stopped due to that strike.

Ken was stunned by the speed of the strike and couldn’t move for a few seconds.

  Then he ran towards Galen.

“Wake up, Galen, wake up,” Ken’s eyes started to break down.

His heart completely broke down as he couldn’t find Vittario there and was also unable to save his friends.

He started hitting the ground with his bare hands out of frustration while crying his heart out.

“Why? Why didn’t I come earlier?” his regret injured him further.

“I can’t carry these 2 people; they should be treated quickly. What should I do?” his mind questioned.

“What should I do? I need to think quickly,” his search continued.

He recalled when Vittario asked for their help earlier that morning and how he convinced Vittario that he would save his family.

“Where did he go?” he shouted out of all frustration.

“Someone, please, help me,” he pleaded as his knees started to tremble.

A straw hat landed on his head as if fate itself heard that request.

He touched the straw hat and took it to see, only to realize that it was none other than his own hat.

He turned back as he wondered how it came there.

“Hahaha, I saw you crying,” Andrew laughed so hard.

“Andrew—” Ken was pleased to see him there.

He stood up and hugged him.

“Help me, we need to save them,” he requested of Andrew.

“And Vittario—” he started to say something.

“Maybe it was a lot easier than you thought,” Andrew indicated the car.

“Come quickly, Ken, we need to treat them quickly,” Medrick shouted at Ken from inside the car.

Within moments, another car entered the area.

“Carry Roger, I would carry Galen,” Harkey came out of the car.

  “Harkey—” Ken cried, happy tears.

“We have no time to talk, go carry Roger,” Andrew pushed Ken as he knew the battle was still not over.

Then Ken tried carrying Roger, but he failed to lift him.

Andrew helped him as they put Roger into his own car.

Galen was also put into the Roger car.

“I would drive that car, and alongside Ken, I would drive them to the hospital,” Andrew told Harkey.

“We need to escape from here as soon as possible. Let’s meet afterwards,” Andrew started the car as he drove towards the south.

Vittario’s family thanked both Ken and Andrew as they waved past Andrew’s car.

Andrew told how Harkey and Medrick ran into him as they sought to escape.

“You really are something,” Ken couldn’t describe what he felt.

At that time, they didn’t realize another person was present.

It was none other than the scarred man.

“I can kill you, but I need to save my men first,” the scarred man muttered while seeing them from about 300 meters.

“You really are lucky, maybe fate is with you,” he told while listening to music.

The rain started to stop ever so slowly. The clouds began to split apart.

It was already evening when they were returning.

Andrew drove to the hospital within 45 minutes. He also drove Ken to the hospital, where he was admitted.

Ken then went to see Lucera.

“Where did you go? Ken,” asked both his parents and Lucera.

“I went nearby, but it became late somehow,” he half-laughed.

Then he told Lucera that Vittario was fine, along with his family.

She was pleased to hear that.

Then they had a small conversation before nightfall.

Andrew felt happy to see Ken smile again.

He also asked about the updates on Vittario and his family.

“He is fine. How are Roger and Galen?” asked Harkey.

“They are heavily injured, but not a big problem,” he replied.

It was 7:25 pm when Ken departed with his family, along with Andrew.

“I will go to Roger’s house to inform them about his condition,” Andrew told Ken.

“You take rest, we will see tomorrow,” he added.

“Thank you, I never expected someone to be my friend,” Ken’s eyes started to pour.

“I am currently enjoying my days, thanks to you. I haven’t done a lot,” he told back.

Then he waved bye as he left in the car.

“What are these 2 days? It felt like a whole year's worth of events had happened within these days,” he thought while driving.

“Who is that Vittario? How is he able to control the horses?” his mind wandered.

“Is he the one responsible for yesterday’s chaos?” he thought about how horses and bulls chased them.

The day ended with Ken marking how much he used his power since Sunday.

“I never thought my life would be this interesting,” Ken muttered.

“Now, I have a lot of friends, power, and I am helping out people,” he recalled all the crazy moments.

“Ken, did you hear about the people’s hero nowadays?” Ken’s father asked him.

“Who is that?” Ken had no clue.

“People call him by the name of Clutch Crafter,” his father told Ken.
