“I don’t know, people were not like this when I lived here,” Harkey said.
The path where Ken and his friends were walking had no people with a smile, as they looked as if they were scared or unhappy.
After 7 minutes of walking, they reached Harkey’s grandparents’ house.
It was an old-looking house, but a massive one with yellow as its primary color.
Harkey entered through the gate as it opened and rang the bell.
It only took a few seconds for his grandmother to open the door. She was surprised to see Harkey come there.
“How have you been? It’s been a long time since—” his grandmother looked happy to see Harkey there.
“I am fine, how have you been?” Harkey replied.
Then their conversation went on for a while as Harkey and his friends entered the house.
When Harkey entered the house, his grandfather was sitting on the chair.
He was also happy and surprised to see Harkey after a long time.
Harkey then introduced his friends to his grandparents.
“This is my grandfather, Cassian,” he introduced.
“This is my grandmother, Calyra”.
“Why is everyone different today?” Harkey asked his grandparents.
“You mean in our village?” Calyra asked.
“Yes, they seemed scared,” Harkey said.
“It’s been the case for over 6 months now; many people related to here or shifted from here have been killed,” his grandmother explained.
All 4 of them were shocked when they heard her words.
“So, Harkey had been one of their targets, but he survived,” Andrew confirmed.
“At first, it felt like a coincidence, but month after month, it has become clear that whoever has our village as origin seems to be targeted,” she told them.
“Why? Why are these people targeted?” Ken looked for answers.
“Every day, all people living here are fearing that the next one might be one of them, and when one tried reaching out to one of the knights of our region, he went missing, from the next day,” she explained.
“What kind of tragedy is this? Why are these people the ones to suffer?” Galen had those thoughts when he heard those.
“Did any of the 3 knights come here to investigate?” Andrew asked.
Aurelian Thescrato is the king of the region where they live, that is, Aurelius. He has 3 top knights in his ranks, both for fighting for him and to fulfill the needs of the people.
“No knights came here after that, and no people are willing to reach out to them due to the consequences of the previous,” she replied.

“One of those 3 knights would come here every 3 months, and today is the day that most likely a knight would come visit here and would ask their opinion on what needs to be done here,” she added.
“Then these people can say directly to him about the situation, right?” Ken asked immediately.
“It’s not that easy, because information about this village is leaked somehow. The man who met the knight told only us about his plan, but he went missing, so someone must be betraying us and giving our information to someone,” she told.
“I don’t think he went missing; the one behind this must have gotten information about people talking to Knight, so he must have kidnapped him,” she gave her own thoughts.
“Your theory is spot on, Andrew,” Ken’s mind.
“That’s scary to know someone is leaking the information, so what is the solution for this?” Harkey muttered.
“Who is the one behind this?” his mind was full of questions.
“Which time will the knight arrive here?” Ken asked.
“He is planning something,” Andrew thought.
“Knights would usually come here by 2-3 pm,” Cassian revealed.
“Is there any good place to eat breakfast?” Ken asked with his second question.
“Why is he asking random questions?” Galen was confused by Ken’s mind.
“You guys can eat here. I will make it,” Calyra suggested.
“Sorry, but I want to eat outside, and also I don’t want you to prepare more just for us,” Ken spoke his mind.
Harkey’s grandfather gave them a route to a restaurant. They spoke for another 6 minutes before eventually leaving.
“We will come once we eat,” Ken said, waving goodbye.
“He is so funny,” Calyra muttered.
“They asked us to eat. Why are we going outside?” Harkey asked Ken.
“Why are you asking random questions, Ken?” Galen asked Ken.
“I want to know more about here, I thought we could get to know more if we go outside and especially ask those who work,” Ken gave his idea behind the decision.
“I also don’t want them to overwork because of us, and I have a plan to solve this problem, Galen,” Ken added.
“He is planning to do something reckless again,” Andrew’s mind.
“What’s your plan, Ken?” Harkey asked, curious.
“You would know when that time comes,” Ken answered.
“That’s the alternative meaning for I am going to create chaos,” Galen thought.
They reached the restaurant that Harkey’s grandfather mentioned at 9:00 am after walking for almost 10 minutes. They entered and were shocked to see that no one else was there, except for them, as customers.
“Why are we the only customers?” Galen asked Harkey.
“It’s my first time coming here,” he replied.
“It’s your village, and you haven’t been to a nearby restaurant,” Andrew couldn’t believe it.
They sat at a table, and a waiter came. He was this tall, scary-looking guy.
“What are your orders?” he asked them.
“What’s famous here?” Andrew asked.
“Are you an outsider?” the waiter asked back.
“Yes, this guy told us this village would be fun; he is from this village,” Andrew replied.
“What is he speaking?” was the reaction of the other 3 sitting there.
“You are from this village? I haven’t seen you before,” the waiter said.
“I haven’t been here for the past 2 years, and why is everyone scared here?” Harkey asked.
“Scared? I don’t think so,” he replied.
“Why should I reveal this to an outsider?” The waiter believed.
“He doesn’t want to reveal it to us, which is fine,” Andrew thought in his mind.
Then they ordered and began eating.
“Ken, why are you silent?” Andrew asked.
“Nothing, I am fine,” Ken replied.
They left the restaurant at 9:45 am.
“I don’t think we can gain any information as people seem not to let others know,” Ken gave his opinion.
“Yeah, it’s also difficult to figure out who is the one that’s leaking the information, too,” Galen said.
They walked around for a bit.
“Mom, it’s scary to lose someone around you, right?” a little girl asked his mother while walking.
“Yes,” mom replied.
“Why are many people disappearing? Will someone save us?” the little girl asked.
“Don’t worry, god will protect us,” her mother replied.
These 2 were walking parallel to Ken and his friends. They heard those conversations.
“I don’t know what to say,” Galen said after hearing it.
“Andrew, do you know about the magical coin that will save people?” Ken shouted.
“Why is he shouting?” Both Harkey and Galen felt.
“Magical coin?” That little girl heard it.
She ran towards Ken and asked, “What is this magical coin? Will it save people?”
Ken took out a coin from his pocket and replied, “Whenever we are in trouble, we need to flip it. Once we flip it, someone will come and save us”.
“Do you need it?” he asked.
“Yes, I need to protect everyone in this village,” she replied.
“Klara, don’t disturb others, let’s go,” her mother said and held her hands.
“You can have it, Little. Don’t lose this coin; it would save everyone when in trouble,” Ken gave a coin to her.
“Thank you, your name?” Klara asked.
“Ken,” he told her.
Her mother apologized to Ken and thanked Ken for giving the coin.
Ken waved bye to her when she left with her mom.
“Is that your favorite coin?” Andrew asked.
“No, it’s just a normal one, she was worried, so I thought this would boost her hope,” Ken replied with a smile.
The rest of the three smiled when he said that.
