37. Threads of Theron

Andrew was stunned after hearing Ken.

“Shouldn’t we go to Theron village?” Andrew asked Ken.

“Yes, we are going there,” Ken replied.

  “When?” Andrew asked.

“Evening,” Ken replied with a smirk.

Then Ken also revealed that Harkey was born there.

  “What!!” Andrew was shocked.

“Should we call Galen and Harkey with us?” Ken asked Andrew.

“I don’t know, but I guess that sounds right,” Andrew said with less clarity.

Ken called Galen and suggested his plan of going there in the evening, but Galen had a different opinion.

“He said it’s better to go in the morning, so that we can learn a lot of things about the village,” Ken told Andrew.

“I mean, he is not wrong. What should we do?” Andrew was confused.

“Then I think we can go tomorrow,” Ken suggested.

Then, after some conversations, they returned home.

Ken got ready for college and eventually left home.

Both Ken and Andrew were thinking about Theron village during the day.

  At the break,

“We are going to your village? Are you coming with us?” Andrew asked Harkey.

“What kind of question is this? I am coming for sure,” Harkey said without even thinking.

“When are we going?” he asked.

  “Tomorrow,” Ken replied.

“Did anything happen related to my village, Ken?” Harkey asked.

“Nothing, I just wanted to visit it,” Ken said, hesitant to reveal.

“I also asked Galen, so we 4 are going there,” Ken added.

“You didn’t call Lucera?” Harkey asked.

“This is not a picnic spot; we are going to a dangerous area,” Ken analysed.

“Who knows what is going to happen there? It is idiotic to call her for this. I don’t want her to get hurt because of me.” Ken already thought about this, but he is having a recall session.

“I think we 4 are enough for this one,” Ken replied.

“Then it’s fine,” Harkey replied, still confused about the purpose of going there.

The rest of the day went normally as both Ken and Andrew left home after resting to train with Roger.

Andrew learned more about Core Ignis during this session, while Ken is still mastering his accuracy and control over it.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Andrew was good at picking things up quickly, and that is exactly what is happening here, too.

He is learning quickly, but not half-heartedly.

He is spending time doing the same skill over and over again until he feels satisfied.

Roger was happy with the progress and could see a massive difference in both of them.

When they are returning home after training,

“There should be a connection,” Andrew muttered.

  “What connection?” Ken couldn’t understand.

“Harkey was beaten that day by Medrick, maybe because of this Theron village reason,” he started explaining his theory.

“But Medrick doesn’t know about the village where Harkey is from, right?” Ken is expressing his view.

“I don’t think Medrick attacked Harkey on his own,” Andrew told Ken.

“What are you saying?” Ken’s confusion level goes up.

“Someone must have known about the origins of Harkey,” he muttered.

“Just like Lorien, after knowing he was from the same village, they tried to kill him.” Andrew is in deep thinking mode.

“They why didn’t they attack Harkey again?” Ken asked.

“I don’t have any answer for that, but it must be the reason why Harkey got attacked that day,” Andrew said.

“I think someone is pulling the strings,” he added.

“What? But why?” Ken had so many questions regarding it.

“We can get a hint when we go there. Our lives are getting interesting,” Andrew said with a smile.

“Isn’t it?” Ken replied, having the same thought.

Ken was excited about the next day as he expected to learn more about the events and their relation to the village.

He told his parents about the trip.

“Theron village?” His father was shocked.

“You don’t need to go there; it is a dangerous place,” he said, his tone changing after he recalled something.

“We are not going for an entire day. I will be back by noon,” Ken muttered.

“Only 4 of us are going there,” he added.

“Is Andrew coming with you?” his mother asked.

  “Yes, why?” Ken replied, confused.

“I trust him more; he can guide you,” his mother replied.

“Trust him more? Am I that bad?” Ken thought, feeling betrayed.

“I don’t want him to go there, but—” his father thought.

Sunday arrived as Ken got up early, as he was the most excited.

He left home early and informed Roger that he wouldn’t be there for the training.

“Why are they going to Theron village?” Roger thought.

“It must have changed a lot,” he remembered the last time he went there.

Ken reached the usual meeting spot, the park, at 5:25 am, but he wasn’t the first one there.

Andrew and Harkey were already there when he got there.

“When did you guys come?” Ken asked, shocked to see them arriving before him.

“I came here just now,” Harkey replied.

“I am waiting from 5:15 am, I thought you would come early,” Andrew said.

“I came early, you came more early,” Ken replied.

“More early? Is that even used before?” Both Andrew and Harkey started laughing.

Galen arrived at 5:31 am with his car.

“Are we ready?” he asked them.

“Yes, let’s go,” all 4 got into the car.

“How much time would it take to go there?” Ken asked.

  “Approximately two hours,” Harkey replied.

Then the quest to Theron village began.

Ken slept early, as he hadn’t slept much last night due to his excitement for the next day.

The remaining 3 had a conversation for a while,

Andrew then explained his theory of “Connection to Theron village” to both Harkey and Galen.

Both of them were jaw-dropped as the theory was near perfect.

“How did your fight with Medrick start?” Galen asked Harkey.

“I was walking in the park that day, he was asking everyone in the park about me, when I walked near him, he asked my name,” Harkey explained.

“I said my name, that’s it, he started beating me, after a few minutes, the crowd started gathering there, that’s when Ken came in,” he concluded.

He then explained how he and Roger met Medrick on the day when they fought Veris.

  Ken woke up.

“What’s going on here?” he asked.

“Harkey is telling about Medrick,” Galen told Ken.

“Tell me, tell me,” Ken asked, and was excited to hear it.

Harkey explained to Ken quickly and told him how he and Roger met Medrick.

“So that scarred guy is the one who is pulling the strings,” Ken said.

“Yes, it seems like that, but who is he and why is he targeting my village?” Harkey said, looking for answers.

“We could meet Veris today, too,” Galen shared his thoughts.

“A mysterious day awaits,” Harkey thought.

They arrived at Theron village at 7:40 am.

“This is my village, but I haven’t been here since I joined college,” Harkey shared.

Nature surrounded the village. “It is still 20 years away from ours; there is no electricity here,” Harkey described.

“No networks here, we can’t connect to the outer world from here,” he added.

“That is excellent, it means you guys are connected with nature, right?” Ken said, was excited.

“Yes, but let’s first visit my grandparents’ house,” Harkey suggested.

  They walked into the village.

Even though the village looked great, the people they saw were not happy.

“Why is everyone like this?” Ken asked.

“I don’t know, people were not like this when I lived here,” Harkey replied.
