Episode V: “Earth Shaking Battle! Akira vs. The Mysterious Kyte!”
“It’s time to pick the contestants for the second match! First, we have number 553, Leo! Our second contestant is… number 656, Baskette!”
“What? They have me fighting against a kid in the first match? Well, this will be easy.”
The two of them entered the ring.
“Who do you have your money on, Akira?” Asuka asked.
“I think… the boy, Leo, will win.”
“Really!? But he’s so young.”
“Hehe, that doesn’t matter. If anything, it just means he has even more potential!”
Leo, a short young boy, walked onto the stage. His brown hair stood out from his pale skin, and he wore a strange, light, creamy brown gi.
The match began.
Baskette rushed at Leo in an attempt to finish the match quickly. However, Leo easily dodged all her attacks.
“Amazing! Leo may be young, but it looks like we shouldn’t count him out yet! He’s able to keep up with Baskette!”
“Oh, shut up! I’ll end this little brat right now! Swinging Basket!”
She launched a melee attack at Leo.
He dodged low to the ground and hit her with a gut punch. She fell to the ground and didn’t get up.
The crowd went wild.
“Incredible! Leo has also managed to take down his opponent in just one strike! Everyone, give it up for the victor of our second match!”
“Wow, he’s better than I thought… I want to see more of what he’s made of.”

Akira was surprised but didn’t hesitate to run up to the stage.
“Guess I get to see what’s up with this guy. Hey, your name is Kyte, right?”
“…” Kyte looked back at him in silence.
“You’d better go all out right from the start. If you don’t, I can’t guarantee your safety. I’ll try to hold back, of course, haha. Can’t get disqualified in the first round.”
“…”
“Let the match begin!”
Neither one of them moved a muscle.
“Uh… hey guys, the match has started, you guys can fight now.”
The announcer watched their staring contest with sweat rolling down his face.
A strong breeze passed through the arena.
It blew hats and skirts in the stands, but Akira and Kyte were unfazed.
Then, in an instant, there was a shockwave from the arena.
After the smoke cloud faded, Akira and Kyte could be seen clashing in the air as their afterimages on the ground faded.
“Wow! It appears that the two of them were moving so fast we couldn’t tell that they were moving! Now they’re engaged in fierce combat in the air! What a battle!”
Heh. I can tell that he’s still holding back a lot. Seems he isn’t taking me seriously.
Then in that case… I’ll just show him what he’s really dealing with.
“Ha!” Akira transformed, revealing his Perfect Spirit Resonance.
“Woah! It appears that Akira has undergone some sort of transformation! He’s literally glowing!”
The announcer touched his fingers against his earpiece before speaking into the mic.
“This just in, folks. It appears that Akira is a member of a race called the Kaelithians! This is one of their signature transformations, Spirit Resonance! Isn’t that incredible!?”
Akira's transformation blew away Kyte’s cloak.
Is that? A collar? Why is he wearing that?
Kyte was unfazed by Akira’s transformation. Instead, He let out an intense roar as he increased his yield output.
“Woah, what’s with this guy’s power!? The whole island is shaking!”
Kyte rushed to Akira and managed to blitz him. He grabbed Akira’s face with one hand and slammed him into the ground.
Now that the cloak is gone, I guess this guy is pretty big, isn’t he? Those are some insane muscles!
Kyte continued his rampage, and Akira was unable to stop him.
Rikito, who was hovering above the arena, watched the match. He crossed his arms in contempt, noticing that Akira was still holding back.
What are you doing, Akira? Beat this fool already.
“Hehe. You’re better than I thought!” Akira said, wiping blood from his lip.
“Guess I’m the one who should be taking you seriously.”
Akira took up his stance.
“I was going to save this for Rikito, but I have enough tricks in my bag. Golden Energy Mode!”
“What!?” Rikito exclaimed, “He can combine that mode with his Spirit Resonance!?”
Hmph, that’s impressive!
“Layer Three!”
That should be enough to handle this guy.
They clashed again.
This time, Akira was able to keep up, but Kyte wasn’t going to back down. Instead, he kept roaring throughout the battle.
“Ugh, what’s this guy’s problem. He’s so loud,” Darc said.
“RAHHHHHHHHHH!”
His roar shook the island, and the spectators all held their ears.
Kyte underwent his own transformation.
“What!? N-no way…” Akira watched with disbelief.
Rikito and the entire audience were in disbelief, too.
Kyte had transformed.
His hair shook from the force of his aether, his eyes fading white.
His creamy white aura poured out, streaks of yellow and lime sparks flaring out.
His power leaked from his body, causing shockwaves through the ground, torrents in the water, and waves of pressure through the air.
“If I don’t stop this guy, he’ll destroy the whole island! I guess this is no time to hold back!”
Akira stopped using Golden Energy Mode.
“HA!”
He began another transformation.
The same ritual as when he fought Rikito two months prior.
His eyes turned gold, and his aura became fiery and sparkling.
