Arc I: “Apocalypse”
Chapter III: “Armageddon”
Episode IV: “Tag Team! Rikito and Rayon!”
Darc’s attack erupted into a storm of rapid aether blasts, each one hissing through the air, sizzling as they passed by.
The heat of his assault licked against Rikito’s face even from a distance.
Cette wove through the barrage with an unsettling, dance-like grace — her feet gliding across the fractured earth, her form twisting just beyond each blast.
“I’m not done yet… Pulverizing Charge!” Darc bellowed.
His aura flared like a molten furnace as he stomped forward, thrusting his palms outward.
A massive cylinder-shaped beam erupted, its light bathing the battlefield in searing orange as the air crackled from its raw force.
Cette was forced to halt her evasions, arms braced, her body glowing under the searing impact.
The force skidded her back across the dirt — but when the beam dissipated, she emerged, untouched.
“Hmph. That sequence wasn’t half bad.”
Her voice was smooth, taunting, as she brushed a fleck of dirt from her shoulder.
“Hehehe… I think I like you.”
Darc’s chest heaved.
“N-no way… That was my best combo!”
Rikito ground his teeth.
“Keep throwing them at her. If we can’t wear her down, we’re screwed when she transforms.”
His mind was racing.
If our attacks aren’t even scratching her… then what the hell are we supposed to do once she stops playing around?
“I’ll support you guys!” Asuka shouted, her aura radiating creamy-white aether as she underwent Spirit Resonance.
“Shining Crystal Wave!”
Her beam carved through the battlefield with a deafening hum, colliding with Cette’s guard.
Cette hissed as the blast seared her skin, a thin wisp of smoke rising from her forearm.
Her playful tone sharpened, her eyes flashed a cold violet, “Damn… that actually hurt, you bitch…”
The acrid smell of scorched skin lingered around her as she staggered.
Now’s my chance! Darc shot into the sky, his heavy frame defying gravity with brute force.
“I’ll unleash my special move! Meteor Air Strike!”
“HA! First Strike!”
His aether gathered together, materializing a massive neon orange bomb that was fired straight into the ground.
“Second Strike! Third Strike!”
He subsequently fired two more bombs in rapid succession, letting them ripple through the air as they plummeted onto Cette’s location. They pounded the battlefield like real meteors.

“Refreshing Barrier!”
A dome of pale, rippling energy bloomed around Cette, humming faintly as it absorbed the brunt of Darc’s assault.
“Now… Cold Stream!” she thrust her hand outward, unleashing a torrent of pale-blue aether that rushed forward like an arctic gale, freezing the very air in its path.
“Black Lightning!”
Rikito’s voice ripped through in a roar as arcs of jagged black electricity obliterated the stream, causing a pressurized cloud of steam expansion to hiss through the air.
“Ha!”
In a blink, he Aether-Skipped forward, his strikes a blur of adaptive aggression — probing, countering, and forcing openings.
“Deep Crash!”
Rikito used his special move, a high-speed sequence of pinpointed strikes, to break through her guard.
Cette smirked.
She met his flurry with inhuman precision, redirecting his fists with small, deliberate motions before spinning low.
“Your attacks are too straightforward.”
She vaulted into the air, twisting her body as her leg snapped up like a whip, slamming into his ribs.
The sound echoed like a thunderclap as he skidded across the dirt.
“C’mon,” she said, voice dripping with mock disappointment as she placed a hand on her hip and leaned to the side, “I know you can do better than that.”
“Dammit…”
Rikito spat blood as he placed his hand on his torso.
They’re broken…
“Rayon!” Darc called out as a crimson blur shot across the battlefield, slicing the air with razor precision.
Rayon landed in a crouch, boots carving trenches in the dirt.
“I’m fine,” he said calmly, his breathing steady despite the chaos.
“And I’m ready.”
“Ready for what?” Rikito barked, wiping his mouth.
Rayon clasped his hands, his crimson aura condensing into a serene, almost holy white glow.
“A technique I honed under the headmaster. It strips away all wasted motion, all hesitation. I call it… Focus.”
His voice was calm, but there was a quiet ferocity behind it. He had a calm cloak of gray aether enveloping him as his aura.
Rikito blinked. “Wow…”
His technique puts him on par with my Spirit Resonance form!
“Alright, let’s take the fight to her!”
“Yeah!” Rayon shouted.
While Asuka stayed behind to heal Darc, Rikito and Rayon charged into battle.
The two shot forward in perfect sync.
Rayon’s movements were surgical, his strikes clean and deliberate, each one forcing Cette to shift her guard just enough for Rikito to slip in — his style raw, adaptive, and relentless.
Together, their blows overwhelmed her.
“That’s more like it!” Cette purred, her body vibrating with excitement.
“Now let me show you real power.”
Her form erupted in a fiery violet blaze.
Her silky silver-black hair and midnight eyes adopted highlights of a dark, corrupted purple.
“Demonic Base Form,” she cooed, licking her lips.
“Not sure how long I’ll be able to keep this up,” Rikito said, aura flaring, “but it seems I have no choice. Spirit Ascension!”
His white-hot outline blazed into existence, his creamy-white shroud thickening as his muscles hummed with explosive power.
Still, even together, they were barely containing her.
“Full Power Boost!” Darc thundered as he unleashed a new technique, his massive frame bulging as his aura flared blindingly.
“I’ll burn myself out if I have to!”
This will maximize my base yield, but it will quickly eat away at my aether. I don’t have a choice, though… the other two will need my help!
Darc and Asuka rejoined the fray. The battlefield shook under the force of all four warriors charging her at once.
Cette stood still as they approached, smiling.
“All four of you?” She sighed, “Still won’t be enough. Unless…”
She tilted her head as she slowly licked her lips. She reverted to her natural state.
Oh no! Rikito thought. She’s going to use that form!
Her hair deepened into a full, shimmering violet. Her skin turned pitch-black. The air quaked under her power.
“Demon Form,” she purred.
She Aether-Skipped — no, glided — behind them effortlessly, barely visible, sending Asuka and Rayon flying with two casual punches.
Darc fired supporting aether blasts as Rikito lunged, but she ignored the blasts and caught his fist with a single hand, twisting his wrist until he dropped to his knees.
She didn’t even flinch when the blasts connected with her. She loosened her grip, allowing Rikito to jump away in retreat, Darc following.
“Dammit…” Rikito grunted. “How are we going to stop her?” Rikito punched the ground.
“There… is one way,” Rayon said, pulling himself from the ground.
His voice was deadly serious.
“But you and Asuka will have to stall her.”
“What? What are you planning?”
Rayon glanced at Darc. They nodded in unison.
“A technique the two of us perfected. It’ll only work once. And if it fails… none of us are leaving this battlefield.”
“Alright… then I’ll buy you some time. But you guys better make sure you can get the job done!”
“Heh… don’t worry. If this works, then forget trying to escape. Beating her won’t be a problem.” Darc assured, pumping up his fist.
“Asuka, with me.”
Rikito and Asuka went to face off against Cette while Darc and Rayon flew away.
“What? Are those two scaredy cats running away?” Cette giggled, crossing her arms.
“My poor siblings, they left you adorable little munchkins to cover their escape. How tragic.”
“Hmph, don’t worry about them. Just focus on the two of us!” Rikito barked.
“Go, Asuka!”
“Right!”
Asuka created clones that swarmed Cette from all sides, forcing her to pivot and swat them away.
She was able to block all four attacks that came at her and destroyed two of the clones with a counter. However, the remaining two clones grabbed her and held her in place.
“Ha. What are you up to? Surely you don’t think this will stop me.” Cette taunted as she struggled against the clones, straining their stability and causing them to leak water.
Then, clones quickly froze, melding together and holding Cette down.
Tsk! Cette thought as she attempted to break the ice.
“Shining Crystal Wave!”
Asuka fired her beam at Cette and the clones, forcing her to brace herself.
Cette yawned after the attack. “I barely even felt that.”
“Then feel this! Abyss Breaker!” Rikito roared from above, launching the swirling orb of black and violet destruction.
“W-what!?” Cette cried out, startled.
“Refreshing Barrier!”
Cette barely managed to raise her dome. The orb crashed into it, splintering the shield and leaving her smoking and scorched — but still standing.
After the smoke cleared, it was obvious that Cette sustained significant damage from the attack, but it wasn’t enough to stop her as her flesh started knitting itself back together.
Cette tilted her head, brushing ash from her shoulder.
“You burned my hair… now I’m annoyed.”
“Damn it… even that didn’t work.” Rikito panted.
“If I can’t find a way around that shield of hers, we won’t be able to do any real damage. Not to mention… even if we manage to do any damage… she can just heal herself!”
