That was probably the only reason I wasn't scared out of my mind right now. Because staring at a bloody dragon as it grew bigger and bigger the closer it got was not something I typically would do. Part of me really wanted to run but going anywhere but my farm nd seemed like a death threat.
That was until the snap of something echoed across the nd and the dragons right wing broke causing it to spiral towards the ground, no longer aimed at me but the barn instead.
[Master Clovek of this nd I offer myself to you as a livestock please accept me!]
A voice that seemed to be sent directly into my mind yelled in a panic. It was definitely female but the amount of terror in it made it hard to figure out the accent.
Livestock Tarakona is requesting to be bound to your nd.
Tarakona (Dragon)
Status: Dying
Position: Free
Product: Dragon Eggs (F-)
Harvestable: No
Ummm.
[Please say yes before I hit the ground. I will not survive the impact]
The dragon seemed so close now. Close enough that I could make out the panic in her eyes and the rather rge harpoon sticking out of her side.
Would you like to accept Tarakona into your farm?
Yes / No
Yes! Yes, yes, yes.
I screamed internally hoping the system would accept and when it seemed like it wouldn't I opened my mouth to yell but stopped when a notification obstructed my vision.
Livestock Tarakona is not within the bounds of your farm. Retrieval initiated.
The wispy white lines that made up my boundary' edge seemed to come alive in the form of whips that each snapped quickly at the falling dragon. In her death spiral Tarakona was in no shape to avoid them as they wrapped around her form and yanked her quite aggressively towards the farm only disappearing when her whole body passed the boundary.
They did not however stop her momentum as the dragons body hit the ground at what seemed like mock five causing an earthquake that threw me off my feet. I was given a perfect view of Tarakona's tail sshing to the side as her main body drew small craters in the ground before I ate dirt. So gd Zeldi wasn't here to see that.
The dragon finally came to a stop as she hit the other side of my boundary, the white line coming up to stop her simirly to when it had stopped the snake man from before. Unfortunately my barn had not escaped unscathed as part of it had been in the collision path and destroyed while the roof had been a victim of her tail.
[Thank you Master Clovek.] Tarakona heaved with a sigh into my mind as she picked herself up.
The healing I had experienced before when I'd left my nd began taking over her body. It was interesting from the outside watching her broken wing realign itself before her skin and scales reformed around the bone. The process was definitely not without fault as the rge creature let out a gutteral roar as the process completed with another snapping of bone. A shard of bone that was no longer useful was dropped to the ground as whatever magic made up the nd finished.
Once her wing was righted she gave them both a few practice fps before grabbing the harpoon in her mouth and ripping it out of her side. The wound closed almost instantly and the white dragon let out a triumphant roar towards the heavens. That was different, as the dagger I had in my arm was unched out st time. Maybe the barbs were stopping it?
Now fully healed her six limbs become apparent with four legs underneath her each tipped with cws and a pair of wings that absolutely dominated her back and sides in terms of size. A frosty blue made up the webbing between long almost finger-like scale patterns that I guessed protected the bones in her wings.
Unsure I made my way over to her with my duel spear still in hand.
[You will not need that my Master.] Tarakona projected with what seemed like amusement. [I am a member of your farm now. My name is Tarakona and I look forward to our future together]
Before I could respond the galloping of hooves rushed past me. "Master another producer! And a dragon at that! Hey miss dragon! What do you produce?!"
[I produce eggs my dear and you must be Zeldi. It is good to meet you.]
Zeldi stopped and turned to look at me. "Master! The dragon talks weirdly."
"Tarakona Zeldi. Her names Tarakona." I said with a shake of my head. I banished the duel spear back to my inventory as I approached.
Tarakona was huge now that she had healed and was standing at her full height. Her body easily reached four stories and that doubled when she extended her neck. Her scales were one of the purest whites I'd ever seen with spikes along her back a light blue as if they were made of ice. A few smaller spikes jutted out of the bottom of her cheeks and each of her cws looked as big as I was.
[It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Zeldi of Clovek's farm. I look forward to working with you. Though I must admit while your nd is vast it doesn't look well maintained. Forgive me if that is rude]
The voice in my head was slightly disorientating but I was slowly getting use to it. I'll admit my first thought when she mentioned that she was a producer was how in the hell I was compatible with her body.
"Not rude at all. We're struggling a bit at the moment due to our isotion but slowly make progress!" I called back feeling like I needed to yell for her to hear me.
[Ah. Then I feel I must apologize because my arrival will have made it worse I'm afraid]
"How so?" Zeldi asked.
I'd caught up with her now and we both stood within an arms length of touching one of Tarakona's legs. To make it more comfortable the dragon had lowered her head until it was almost touching the ground. This allowed us to see the chilling blue of her eyes as well as how reptilian her scales were.
A childlike part of me wanted to touch those scales.
[During my decent from my den after Master Clovek had made contact with me and group of dragon hunters has made it their personal mission to see that I am permanently downed. I have not done anything to deserve it to my knowledge but a dragons body is valuable so I believe they just wish to harvest my organs.]
"No!" Zeldi shouted rather abruptly. "You will not be harvested or treated like anything more than what you are Tarakona. My Master will see to it."
She then turned to me rather adorably. "You can protect her right Master?"
I gave a chuckle at the absurdity of a farmer trying to protect a dragon. Just need a pitchfork to complete that vision. "Yes Zeldi I will try. Hopefully the trespassing reward will stop them from actually getting into the property."
Was I surprised at all by the fact dragon hunters existed in this world? Not at all.
"So then Tarakona we have only just come back from a trip but I have to ask. Can you shrink at all, because I don't think you'll fit in our house right now?"
[No unfortunately. Though I do have a quest now that I am bound to the nd that will give me something called 'draganoid' form. Would that be it?]
Close enough I guess. Sounds like something that's half dragon half human. If so I found the compatibility part of this whole debacle.
Funny how a dragon has just nded on my farm and my first instinct is, how do I fuck it? Maybe Zeldi is rubbing off on me.
"What do you have to do for the quest?" I asked after straightening my head.
[Provide my Master with an egg.]
I took one look at her size and whistled. I was definitely going to need my inventory if her eggs were proportionate.
"That seems too easy." I said after a second of thinking. Sure Zeldi's own quest was reted to her milk but it was one hundred liters.
[Unfortunately due to the stress of my travel here I won't be able to until I've calmed down and rexed. My apologies Master.]
And there's the catch. Think I remember my father saying something simir when the dog had chased the chickens one morning. Something about stress on the animal stopped it from ying that day or something. Admittedly I was twelve and at that point in time agreed with the dog that chasing the chickens was a fun pass time.
"It's no problem at all, at least for Zeldi and I. Without the ability to get smaller I don't really have any shelter for you." I scratched my head trying to think of a solution.
[I am use to the elements Master Clovek, though if I may make a request?]
"Shoot."
The phrase seemed to confuse her and even Zeldi gave me an odd look.
"Go for it." I reiterated forgetting the whole new world thing.
[If I may request something for just my head to be in. I find it more comfortable that way.]
I was going to offer the barn as that would have been an easy fix but remembered her nding path. Collectively we all looked towards the destroyed building.
[Would I be correct in saying that building was the only option for my request?]
"You would be correct." I answered as an idea came to me.
Zeldi's ears were pinned back in remorse until I locked eyes with her. "Master? Do you have an idea?"
I grinned. "I think we should test just how powerful your milks stamina regeneration is. Up for an all nighter?"
Zeldi's ears shot up and even seemed to shake with excitement. "Of course Master!"
