Chapter 26. Void inventory testing

We joined Heyt and Gally at the table and I was slightly surprised when I found the table itself didn't have any chairs. I don't know why this surprised me so much as a Centaur would struggle to sit down on one with all four hooves. Instead there was a weird rge pillow where we would each sit down at.

The pillow had it's middle raised while each side had a divot that didn't quite seem right. Gally was thankfully already sitting down so I was able to see how it was used.

She had the big part between her legs both front and back as it seemed to support her whole tummy while her legs were tucked into the divots. The strange way the divots were made suddenly made sense by the way her legs were positioned with padding in the locations her hooves and knees y against.

They'd made a chicken roast with a rich gravy that was absolutely to die for and another question I had about Centaurs was answered. They were omnivores. I know it should have been something I could have asked but saying 'horses in my world are herbivores so that's why I'm asking' didn't seem like a good reason. Gd I have an answer.

We had a few conversations about different things as we ate with the main topic being my world. Yenem had warmed up to me considerably but still refused to believe I'm a wonderer. Heyt had to remind her multiple times that I wasn't lying throughout the conversations and even gave her the ring to see if that would persuade her. It did not.

This had all come to a stop when I'd started talking about phones and how they allowed talking to people all across the whole world but cost money to use. That seemed to be too much for them as it required a powerful mage to do that here not a small box the size of my hand.

Anna came in after a bit but didn't sit down with us. Instead Heyt pointed to a pte of sandwiches and a jug of water on the countertop. Anna bowed then took both and returned to the bedroom.

It seemed a little bizarre to me just watching the woman work together with one of them literally having sex with a man they were all sharing without any jealousy. It also made me a little excited that it was possible. As much as I was acting hesitant about starting my own harem, if I had my own that worked together like Zeldi's I'd be very happy.

There was also Zeldi's interest in other women to take into account. Something I would definitely be exploring.

After lunch Yenem took Zeldi on a walk around the vilge wanting to show her what had changed while she was gone while I was left with Heyt and Gally. Heyt was very interested in my Void inventory when I expined it so we ended up spending the afternoon trying to figure out how much we could fit into it before we returned.

We thought about having Zeldi wear multiple sets of clothes just before we returned but on the small chance it wouldn't be brought back with us we elected to put it in my storage. It was a situation of better safe than sorry. Would rather not have her wear rags again for a month while we wait to return so three spaces were taken up by clothes with another that she was wearing making up four. Hopefully would be enough.

So with four spaces left we had got creative.

The first big thing we found out was that if a bunch of items worked together to create another my Void inventory counted it as one item. Hence the Centaur bed.

It was a rge bed, even rger than the mattress I'd previously bought with pillows and bnkets all made and ready to use. However if we removed a pillow it would still register the bed as one item but the pillow couldn't be re-added without the bed being brought back out and re-made. So this was a good way of getting multiple things in one space.

The cutlery set was a simir item as it held four ptes, four knives and four forks all in a box made specifically for the items. Heyt had to get it custom made and with haste so that my inventory accepted it all as one item and I'm gd it worked.

I was going to be owing them a lot of gold after this. Might want to get on figuring out how to get traders sooner rather than ter.

That had left us with two spaces left and Daxel had recommended the duel spear after remembering the kobolds. Having a weapon definitely made me feel a lot safer every though Trespassing solved that already. I could always use it to hunt wildlife if I wanted to substitute some meat into our diet. That is if I could get around Tilty's blockade.

The st item was the ring of water. As the name implies it's a ring that can produce a decent amount of water each day before needing to recharge. It couldn't be used offensively unless I wanted to slowly flood someone but it would solve any water problems we might have. Again I could have worn it on my finger to save a space but we wanted to make sure it came back with us hence using my inventory.

Zeldi herself was going to wear one of the other dresses to test if it came back and I was given a weaker ring of air. It was functionally useless but was going to be used as a test.

Unfortunately this had led to our current position of saying goodbye to everyone as I watched the timer tick down.

  0H 5M 12S

"Five minutes." I whispered, not that I needed to but everyone was so quiet that I felt it was needed.

Heyt was the first to break the silence by pulling Zeldi into a hug. "Be strong child of Yenem."

"I will mother Heyt. We will come back as soon as we can." Zeldi got out before her voice broke and her tears started to run.

Anna was next up and gave Zeldi a hug without words, she simply touched her forehead to Zeldi and held it there.

Gally waved but didn't seem to know herself what to do as her and Heyt hadn't made much progress because of the focus being on my inventory after lunch.

Daxel and Yenem were st and both wrapped their arms around my mare in a death grip, with Yenem physically grabbing ahold of Zeldi's hair.

"One minute." I whispered again as more tears were shed from both sides.

"What will you do if she stays?" Heyt asked as we stood beside each other watching the three Centaurs embrace in the hopes they wouldn't be separated again.

"I'll deal with that if it does happen but I won't see it as a problem." I answered watching the final few seconds tick down.

  0H 0M 24S

"Well if that's the case we will look forward to seeing you both next moon cycle." Heyt said softly.

"As will we." I said back not trusting myself to say more.

  0H 0M 0S

The light from this morning fshed and I momentarily closed my eyes.

When I opened them I found myself back on my farm as the sun was setting, painting the sky a beautiful orange. Beside me Zeldi let out a choked sob at the ck of bodies hugging her and ran into my chest. I held her and let her cry until she had no tears left to give.

I also realized that the ring hadn't traveled back with us but all our clothes that we were wearing had. Maybe there was a condition about magic items? Either way we had a lot of the basics now.

"Thank you for that Master. That meant the world to me." She finally said after all her tears had dried up.

"It's no problem Zeldi. Just remember, it wasn't a one time thing." I said trying to console her.

She perked up a little bit. "Yes next moon cycle we can return."

"Who knows, Anna might be pregnant by then?" I joked trying to lighten the mood.

"Oh she and Gally will be pregnant by then if she joins." Zeldi joked back.

We ughed together for a bit before falling into a comfortable silence. One moon cycle, that's all we had to wait for.

Our silence was broken by Zeldi. "What's that?"

She was pointing away from the setting sun towards a white bird that looked simir to a dove from this distance. Except a lot bigger and heading in our direction.

As it got closer Zeldi answered her own question with a mixture of surprise and fear. "Master Clovek, that's a dragon!"

  Oh, oh shit.

"Trespassing will keep it away." I said with what I hoped was confidence as the creature locked eyes on us from where it was. This only seemed to make it increase its speed.

The duel spear was in my hand in an instant.

"Zeldi get inside." I commanded testing the grip.

She didn't argue instead dashing towards the door with a final warning.

"It can't kill you on your farm Master so don't leave it."
