Does It End Here?
- Ordinary student Roy Trahm''''s life is turned upside down after being accepted into an elite academy through a lottery. He meets with other students labeled "elites" after being mysteriously knocked out the second he steps onto campus. Samael, a young-looking sadistic being, forces the students into a death game. The rules are simple. Kill a student and get away with it, and you can escape, while all the innocent are executed. Get caught? Then you yourself are executed. Archetype (Slowburn Superhero Progression, Set in Britain)
- Have you ever wanted to read a story about a superhuman from their very outset; to be there from their greatest trials and tribulations; one canon, lasting consequences, one definite conclusion? This is that fiction. Readers can expect: A singular narrative which follows an 18 year old boy from his initial discovery of his superhuman abilities and his path towards not only controlling his ever increasing power but also discovering and fighting for what he believes is right in our morally gray world. A British/English superhuman protagonist! This story is about: A teenage outcast and underachiever thrust into ever more difficult choices whilst coming into his powers and beliefs; both of which profoundly feed into the other. Archetype is going to be a long story: We''''re talking 1000''''s of pages at least. The story is built for longevity. Some Fair Warnings: - The series follows a novel-like format per volume, as such please expect the slower pace to have a pay off similar to a novel, with rising tension towards the dramatic climax of each volume. This is a character driven story first, progression fantasy second. - I''''m not kidding when I mention how huge this series is going to be in wordcount/volumes. For this reason the protagonist is a human that makes mistakes, is naive, and is someone that will probably frustrate some readers with the decisions he makes. I''''m trying to write my characters as real thinking human beings, not progression-fantasy fighting machines. - Any criticism of the series is welcomed with open arms. Just please be respectful and keep things polite and constructive. If I feel you''''re ruining the vibe / experience for other readers, you''''ll earn yourself a block (which is a last resort for me which I don''''t like to do). Volume One: An unprecedented crisis leads Burgess O''''Bannon and every other teenager aged 17-19 to be evacuated from their homes. Burgess considers not going along with the government''''s plans because it all seems too shady. He decides to go out on a limb and trust the government''''s evacuation plan, a decision which may very well be the worst (or perhaps the best) decision Burgess will make. -- The Patreon is now up! This Is How I Lived
- I found this thing while rummaging through a house. Think I''''ll write in it for myself, I need... something. Ever since all this crazy shit started, all the tech just… had a massive aneurysm. Phones won’t turn on, computers are dead, and the internet is gone, which I didn’t even know was possible. I tried anyway. I kept pressing the power button on my phone like that would fix it. It didn’t. I briefly considered that the sun might have exploded or something. Did anyone try turning it on and off again? No? I wanted to type this. I wanted to post it somewhere. I wanted to doom-scroll on TikTok, call my parents and friends, or at least watch videos and pretend that shit didn’t hit the fan. Like, unfathomable amounts of shit. Since none of that is an option anymore, I’m writing by hand. Apparently, this is what people used to do. Y’know, ancient social media. Time to get vintage, baby! But anyway, it’s been about a week, I think. The water barely runs. The power went out like a day after all the phones stopped working. The people outside aren’t even people anymore. The Walking Dead is reality TV now. I hate it here. I’m going to try to keep track of things and stay normal. If you find this, PLEASE DON’T READ IT --- This story is also being submitted to Royal Road under the same author.
