Chapter 19 – That Pent Up Aggression Needs An Outlet

John enjoyed his alone time in the bathroom. Well he would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for a certain quest. At least he assumed it was the quest.

He was pent up for days, his guy below working properly again. Now, he was surrounded by beautiful women and he wasn't close to any of them. He was never this lustful in the past, but for whatever reason, he was getting hornier every day. He needed some relief, but couldn't cum.

That's right, he was going to give up on that one point he earned and jerk off, looking for some of that sage mental crity an orgasm provides.

However, he couldn't bring himself to completion. No matter how hard or fast he stroked it, it was just like...not working.

Crap! Is my dick broken in this world?

In the end, he kept his point, and became even more frustrated. He might need to make a trip back to The Great Cleric first to get some relief.

He dried off and got dressed in his bck suit and shirt, not wearing his more comfortable clothing until they were going to take off. He considered getting one of the flight suits the other pilots were wearing but the thought of trying to get in and out of it was daunting.

He lounged around in his room, reading the docket Katrina had sent him, thoroughly going through it with a fine tooth comb looking for any errors. He wasn't a fighter pilot in his previous life, so his concept of three dimensional warfare was only what he learned in the drivers seat of a M48 Patton, but even he could see the gring issues of trying to take on this pirate base with the numbers they had.

Apparently the pirates ships were all crap compared to the INP's forces, but they had a severe numerical advantage compared to the fleet we were taking, plus an entrenched position with gun and missile empcements. If this was back in the army, they wouldn't try to take this target unless they softened it up first with artillery, or bring the air force in with a couple flights B-52s. To do otherwise was suicide.

How did this pn even get approved?

A knock sounded on his door then. He stood up and spoke loudly. "Enter"

Katrina walked into the room, a confident look on her face. "You wanted to talk to me John?" She asked sweetly. John didn't notice it but she was actually sweating, worried about what what he was going to say to her after her earlier screwup.

"Have a seat Lieutenant." He said, using the tone he used earlier. It seemed to work wonders on this herd of cats he brought on board.

She sat down across from him, and waited. He watched her for a minute, letting the silence drag on until she was about to speak, then he asked a question.

"Who pnned this assault? Who approved of this operation?" He asked, drumming his fingers on the arm of the chair.

"It came from higher up in the chain of command. Why is something wrong with it?" she asked nervously.

He brought up the docket in his Link for reference.

"Firstly, five to one odds on an entrenched position. Secondly, minimal craft capable of long range bombardment. Finally, no backup or reinforcements for our side when things go sideways, which they will quite quickly. The saturation fire alone would trump any shielding or armour our 'Superior' ships have." He said, ying out the main issues with the pn as he saw them.

He then leaned forward "Whoever pnned this has never fought a battle in their life, or is trying to get someone killed." He wasn't sure if that was the case or not, but there is no way the shields of these ships would hold if enough weak weapons hit them. He wasn't eager to find out the hard way.*

Katrina looked at him, confused for a moment, then deep in thought. "I can't believe they would knowingly try and kill us. We are having hostilities with the Javarians again, we need every able bodied person who can fight."

"Well then Lieutenant, you should cancel this attack, either that or find more ships for our side, preferably something with some range to deal with the gun empcements. I can only do so much with a single MAG cannon."

The MAG was pretty much the longest ranged weapon in their little fleet, other than a small assortment of missiles on a couple of the fighters and other INP frigates that would join them tomorrow. Using a hundred pound nickel-iron alloy slug accelerated by magnets to some frightening speeds, it was a siege weapon more so than an anti-ship weapon due to needing to maneuver the ship itself to aim.

Anytime he hit a target in the simutor, it pretty much deleted it...kind of like when the USS Wisconsin deleted a mountain range to take out a single artillery battery. He wasn't that great of a shot with it though.

"I can't...I tried already." She said, emotions coming out in her voice. "I already saw it was a dumb pn, but the higher ups insist that the Earl's heir should be able to make this work to prove herself."

"Then why didn't you start with that?! They are obviously setting you up for failure." John said, fbbergasted that she already knew and didn't bother to tell him.

"I wanted to see what a fresh set of eyes saw when they read this pn. I think you underestimate the strength of our equipment and superior training, but otherwise everything you said was correct, this is basically us walking into a meatgrinder. I have no doubt we will win, but will suffer casualties."

John facepalmed. What was this girl, twelve? "Lieutenant Eligan, I won't pretend to know all your units skills, tactics, or anything of the sort. What I will say is you have to change something here, else you are going to get a lot of your soldiers killed. So either come up with a better pn, one that doesn't involve us dying needlessly, or use your authority as 'Lady Eligan' and tell your superiors you're not doing it. I don't care if you don't want to lean on your family name or whatever. Don't get people killed for the sake of your pride."

He stood up then, looming over her. He could see her sweating now that he actually was focusing on her and not this idiotic pn. "Come up with something better in the next three hours, else contract or not, you can get you and your people off my ship. Now get out!"

"Y-yes Captain!" she squeaked, all decorum lost, and darted out of his room.

He sighed again. He was irritable and becoming irrational. This was not in a state of mind to enter a battle in, even if she did improve her pn. He needed a breather.

  "DEN Return" He said.

Once again, his vision shifted, turned fuzzy, and disappeared.

  *Poof*

Silver smoke surrounded John, the annoying music and announcers voice actually gave him a sense of calm. He could feel his body weakening though, the familiar aches and pains returning.

"Damn, was hoping to keep those upgrades." He said aloud.

"Welcome back John, and sorry, you don't get to have freebies like that. Your recovery must be earned." Alec's voice was heard through the smoke.

"Seriously. Would it hurt that much if you could just make my body stronger? And what was with not letting me have a rexing moment in the bath? Was that your doing?" John said, his frustrations rising again.

Alec, sitting across from him still, shook his head. "I won't spoil the surprise, but it was not us that prevented you from enjoying yourself John." he said, that smug smile making John want to punch his tormenter again.

Deep breaths man, get a hold of yourself.

He took a few moments to compose himself. It did no good to assault the god who was allowing him to live ten new lives. He could just be dead now instead. He was finding himself oddly grateful for this chance, despite being nothing but a pawn for their entertainment.

Alec looked at him, his smile turning warm at listening to John's inner thoughts. He wasn't a fan of keeping the guy around at first, but watching a crotchety old man deal with these worlds was quite amusing to him now, and he was secretly rooting for John to become their next champion.

However, he still had a job to do, one that needed him to be at least a little impartial.

"So I posed a question to you st time John, do you recall what it was?"

  "Something about feeling different?"

"That is right. Now you have been to four different worlds, have you noticed anything weird?"

John thought about it for a moment. He did take some time in the evenings to consider this question over the st few days, even wrote it down to help him remember.

"In Highschool of the Dead, I felt the urge to protect the kids, and take everyone somewhere safe. I also had the overwhelming urge to be a leader, to rule over my people for some reason."

"Yes, you were showing some signs of becoming a despot, albeit a fair one. Keep going"

"In The Great Cleric, I felt like I wanted to protect people again, but with different intentions. I had no urge to take over society, rather I just wanted to find my own little niche and enjoy myself and the pleasures around me."

"You did want to grow stronger though, right?"

"Yes, through magic...in order to protect others."

  "Hmmm...very well, and StarCraft?"

"Once again, I felt the need to protect people, but...it was more like I was doing it because I didn't really have other options, or maybe anything else to do. Once I met the Zerg, I felt, fear. Fear of being weak, insignificant even."

"Yeah, I can't imagine you had a lot of time to digest what that world was like before your untimely end."

"Right...anyways, for Infinite Frontiers, I was happy at first, then as I learned more about the world, I seemed to get angrier, more irritable, even a little petty. I was ready to just up and leave that station the moment I read about that stupid pn. Also, I was horny as hell for some reason, and couldn't relieve myself."

"I see." Alec said, then took a drink from the gss of Westria beside him. Their was one beside John as well, but he held off for now. He didn't want to dive back in to another world half drunk.

"So what does this all mean anyways?" John asked.

"This is yet another way the Canon is trying to prevent you from changing the Lore of the worlds you are in. It is giving you a simir mindset of the main characters, making you make or at least consider simir decisions they might have. It cannot change your personality completely, rather it comes in with subtle suggestions.

For HOTD, you wanted to protect people and escape, so it reinforced that idea since that was what the MC did. In TGC, you wanted help people and live an easy life, where the original MC wanted something simir and made vows several times to 'die of old age'. StarCraft you were apathetic, on auto pilot almost, like the original MC was at first, and in the case of Infinite Frontiers, the incompetence of a supposedly skilled military unit made you angry, and the canon fmed your annoyance further."

"So the wanting to rule over others thing was the canon impnting the thought into my mind?"

"No, that was your own mindset. As I said, you have the makings a good despot, in time I am sure you will rule over part of Japan at the very least. The canon cannot force you to do anything, just alter things in small ways, to make it seem like it was your idea."

"Sounds like my wife." John said without thinking much. This was yet more information being drip fed to him on these worlds. Sometimes he wished he knew none of it, other times he wished he knew everything.

I want to rule? Since when?

"The Canon's would be pleased you think so highly of them John. Now, shall we go over your work?" Alec said with a ugh.

  "Please."

The screen in front of John expanded and started listing things out like before.

[Calcutions Complete][Would you like to allocate stat points now? Y/N]

"Why is eating a pizza canon breaking?" John asked, confused.

"It's nothing in the grand scheme of things, but the MC also had a pizza but threw it out. There will be hundreds of tiny differences between you and the original, but most are so minor that the system does not count it as part of the calcution. It will bring up one once in awhile like this if it was something amusing. How did you even manage to down something you thought tasted like gym socks and cardboard?"

"Just habit I suppose. My wife had a rule about not wasting food. It had to be a truly horrible mess up for us not to eat a meal."

"Well you did well to change the Lore of the story my friend. The original MC didn't sign up to work with the INP and avoided Katrina as much as he could, at least until ter...but that is a story for you to find out for yourself."

John just nodded, and looked over the changes. There were people he was supposed to meet and didn't, and the drunk Elf was actually a protagonist apparently. Was his burger thief Niki?

"I just want to save my stat points for now, so I can unlock magic in all worlds."

"Good call. It will also improve your mana pool in the worlds with magic, so it won't hurt to have."

John hit 'No', then the status screen came up.

John was at a loss for what to do here. Did he roll the Eroge Gatcha to see if he could unlock more health returns? Did he roll for skills? Or should he save for status points? He didn't think the housing, vehicles or clothing was going to be very useful to him yet.

"Screw it, give me a single skill roll and four on the Eroge please" He said.

Spinning wheel, colourful lights, loud noises and a kazoo sound from some where. "Congratutions, you have been rewarded the low tier skill Dig. With this skill, you can instantly make a one cubic foot deep hole within ten feet of you. 30 second cooldown.

"Seriously? What am I going to use that for?"

"Who knows John, sometimes even low tier skills come in handy."

What am I going to do, trip someone? I will probably end up tripping myself.

"And we will be there to watch you fall John. Best of luck. Now for the rest." Alec said, making John grumble.

Spinning, colourful lights, loud noises, then pink glitter exploded from behind him, this time covering both him and Alec in the mess.

"Umm...technical difficulties John, sorry about that." Alec said, the pair of them looking like a glitter bomb went off beside them. (It did)

Dusting himself off, John just sighed again. He thought of Nanael's soft body waiting for him in The Great Cleric.

One more, one more new world then I am returning to there or Highschool of the Dead.

"Congratutions you have received the Skill - Tonal Connection - Novice. People that already have a positive view of you are more easily drawn to you and swayed by your voice and words (Minor).

Congratutions, you have acquired 'Increased girth'. 1 cm added to the diameter of your penis.

Congratutions, you have acquired 'Increased length'. 1 cm added to the length of your penis.

Congratutions you have acquired 'Cartige renewal'. Your joints are now those of a younger man, but be careful, the rest of you is still old." The announcers voice came out, rapidly announcing his rewards.

John could feel the pain in his knees and hips subsiding. He still had 1000 points remaining and considered burning the rest to see if he would get more, but stopped himself. He didn't think these gods would let him get completely better so quickly.

"Your right John, though please, don't think too badly on us for it. We want you to grow stronger too."

"Right...it is all just a game." He sighed again. He hated not being in control of his life...he looked at his stats again to see his improvements.

  [STRENGTH - 30 -> 22 24 (Compromised Internal Structure)][REFLEX - 22 -> 7 13 (Compromised Internal Structure)]

  [SPEED - 20 -> 10 14 (Compromised Internal Structure)]

"Oh wow, that is a bit of progress."

"Indeed, now would you like to rest a bit before choosing your next world? Or are you ready to dive in?"

"I will take a hour or two in the break room I think. I need to get my head in order before I choose my next door."

"Very good John. Can't wait to see what you decide."

With that, John went and rexed in the back room, gorging on the food and avoiding any alcoholic beverages. Some of the production staff were there this time, so he chatted with a few, including the Tiger-girl Xiaolin with her massive breast and flirty nature. She had been working at DEN for nearly 100 years apparently, and was one of the previous winners of the contest here.

After the break, he stepped back into the studio, waved at Alec, who managed to get the glitter out of everything. John felt like a new man and walked over to the Red door and entered.

  The sign changed to .

  Alec just ughed.

  * - So fun fact, in my original writing, the Phoenix Hawk was a P2W ship that the MC had to first complete a ridiculously long quest arc to even have the chance to purchase. It is very powerful for its size, though actual battleships, carriers, and dreadnaughts could probably take it if it didn't have a fighter escort (it is a small carrier). The pirate base is simir to the ones in EVE Online, a mid tier one in fact, and the MC could easily solo them in the Phoenix Hawk because he knows the strategy. John however does not, just knows something is fishy here.

  ** Minor 0.5-4%, Major 5%-10%, Critical 11% or greater.

*** He is repcing a character that was only ever really referenced to in canon once in awhile. With John there, school life might be a bit different now for the Sitri's and Gremory's. I was going to wait until ter to introduce DxD but I think this will be amusing.
