(Harry's POV)

  Worried about my family, I leave Rose by her door and move quickly toward my house, sticking to the shadows of the overgrown hedges.

  Instead of going straight inside, I decided to see the situation from the side window.

  As I reach the window, I see a single officer sitting on the sofa.

  I know him; he is Karan Ross, the inspector of Ashmere.

  Though I can't hear what they are talking about, I can see Olivia and he are having a heated discussion. Chloe stands at a distance, tears in her eyes.

  Seeing the situation, I wanted to move straight inside and help them, but just as I was going to move, I saw my reflection on the window gss.

  Bck hair. Amethyst eyes. Taller.

  I can't go in like this. Rose might have been convinced due to my incubus charm and my ability, but Olivia and Chloe have been living with me since I was a child. They would see right through this "stranger" wearing my skin.

  "Hey, Nova, can you help me with my appearance?"

  "Great. Then do it fast," I said.

  'Okay, do it, Nova,' I gave a mental command in a hurry.

  Suddenly, I feel something draining from me—a cold, hollow tugging at my core that makes my knees feel momentarily weak. But I didn't pay much attention to it.

  My reflection on the window is changing. My bck hair has become dark brown again, and my eye color has also changed back to brown.

  My facial features shift, softening the predatory sharpness. It's not exactly like before—I still look healthier, more defined—but I think it will do.

  After seeing my somewhat normal face, I move toward the door to go inside, but Rose is already standing there, having followed me.

  Seeing my face change in the moonlight, she becomes shocked.

  "…Harry?... But how?" she asked, confused and afraid.

  "Rose, I will expin everything to you ter. For now, please go to your house and rest," I said. I can see confusion, fear, and... worry for me? in her eyes.

  "Okay." With that, she reluctantly moves back to her house, gncing over her shoulder once before disappearing inside.With Rose gone, I finally rang the doorbell of my house.

  (Inside the Vedman house, 3rd person POV)

  In the living room, on the sofa, sat a fat policeman in his uniform, a mean smirk on his face as he ogled the mature beauty sitting opposite him.

  Olivia Vedman, Harry and Chloe's stepmother, despite being in her te thirties, looks like an elder sister to Chloe and Harry. Right now, her bck hair is tied in a bun, and her nature-like green eyes are staring at the policeman with simmering intensity.

  "Mr. Karan, how many times have I told you to look for my son? It is now way more than 24 hours since he has been missing, but you are doing nothing!" She shouted at Karan.

  "We are doing everything to find your son, Miss Vedman," Karan replied, his voice oily and dismissive.

  "Have you interrogated that Loris Jones? I think he has something to do with this," Olivia asks.

  "Come on, miss. Mr. Jones is a respectable man. Why would he do something like this?" Karan said, chuckling as if the very idea were a joke.

  SIGH.

  "Then what are you doing here?" Frustration and anger were clearly shown on Olivia's face. "I don't think you are here for some snack."

  "Oh, right," his eyes moved towards Chloe. "I am here because I received a information that your daughter Chloe received a message from Alex, Harry's friend, about Harry's location. I am here to confirm it."

  Hearing her name mentioned, Chloe raised her head, tears still in her eyes.

  "But inspector—"

  Before she could say something, Olivia intervened. "What do you mean, Karan?" This time, she did not use any honorifics.

  "I mean, that your daughter received a message this morning that Harry and Alex have gone to Sawaii Isnd, and neither she nor you thought it was worth mentioning to the police," Karan said, his tone turning hard.

  "I don't believe it," Olivia said. "Harry would never go somewhere this far without telling me. That message is fake." She said confidently.

  "Miss, he is twenty years old, an adult, not some child that will require his parents' permission," Karan replied dismissively.

  "Then why are both of their phones not responding to my calls?" Olivia said in a higher tone. "Harry's been unreachable since yesterday, and now, Alex's phone is also switched off."

  "Miss Olivia—"

  DING DONG

  Suddenly, the doorbell was heard, stopping their argument in the middle.

  "Who could be here at this time?" Olivia stands up to open the door.

  As she swings it open, she freezes, lost for words. Relief and disbelief flood her features.

  Standing at the door is Harry.

  "Harry…" She was lost for words, the breath hitching in her throat.

  "Hey, Olivia," Harry said, trying to keep his voice steady despite the nervousness.

  Someone else was even more relieved and surprised by seeing him back.

  "Bigg Brotherrr!!!" Chloe moves rapidly and throws herself on Harry, hugging him very tightly, nearly knocking the wind out of him.

  "Chloe, careful," Harry said, catching her mid-air.

  "Baka, onii-chan, where have you been?!" Her tears stained Harry's hoodie instantly. "I was so worried about you!"

  Harry gently hugged her back, his eyes moving past her to meet the gaze of Inspector Karan. "Rex, I am back."

  Karan Ross sat on the sofa, his eyes widening. The smirk he had worn just moments ago vanished, repced by a look of sheer, baffled disbelief.
