#5- The Gold Standard!
After a long day at school, Me, Mercy and Minnie were walking home, when we passed by a TV news crew interviewing a lone superhero who had just rescued hostages from a trio of bank robbers, he wore a bck and gold spandex suit, had rippling muscles, and his white hair slicked back, his teeth were white enough to blind astronauts in space!
"Fuck, not him...." i growled.
This hero, if you can call him that, was Gold Sentinel, my father's closest friend and an S-Rank superhero.
Superheroes are ranked by the MHB based on strengh, popurity, and how well a superhero does their job, the ranking are as follows, D,C,B,A, and finally, S-Rank, which is the highest.
Gold Sentinel and Mr. Apollo fought together during the Tengu Army invasion, what my father sees in him i'll never know, the people may see him as a hero, but i've seen his true self, he's only in it for the fame, and thinks his status can let him do what he wants, Dad would be ashamed of him.
Mercy, Minnie and simply passed by him, unaware that he saw us walk by.
"Elle! there you are! what? you're just going to walk by and not say hello!" he said.
With blinding speed, he zoomed right to our location!
"Your mom called me, she told me you passed your Omega Gene Test!" Gold Sentinel said.
i facepalmed, did Mom tell everyone?
"I'm so proud of you! you had me worried there, for a while, i thought you were going to end up one of "Those" his said pointing at Minnie.
"Zach, she has a name, and i would appreciate it if you refered to her as such.." i said using his civilian name.
"Oh, i'm sorry, i forgot you have one as a friend, my mistake, so, i'll assume you will be taking the MHB license exam next week?" he asked.
I nodded, i wanted to follow in my father's footsteps.
"Splendid! and who knows? if you pass, the Omniforce could use fresh talent like you!" Zach said.
With a wave good-bye, he flew off into the sky, Mercy wave goodbye as well.
"I really fucking hate that guy....." i growled as we made our way home...
