Chapter 32- Bloody halls

The walls around Revillion shine today. Maybe somebody cleaned them recently? We're currently waiting in line for security to check our carriage. It'd be nice to just go straight for Kara's dungeon! But it'd be better not to just rush in head first. We reach the entrance, security comes to the back of the carriage.

"I need to check you for any illegal items! Hop out of the carriage." The guard tells us.

We both get out of the carriage and hold our arms straight out. It's bright out, I have to squint. I can see the pce one of the twins fought me and Wick at from here. I have to resist the urge to run towards the dungeon right now. The guard finishes patting us down and we get back into the carriage.

We slowly ride into town and over to the stable. The driver hops out of his seat and walks around to the back.

"Thanks." Henry tells them as we both hop out of the carriage.

  "Anytime!" The driver replies.

We walk down the street and go to a nearby inn.

"Should we even check in to an inn?" I ask Henry.

"Yeah, or no... I don't know! Are we going today or at night?" He asks.

  "Good question." I say.

I haven't really thought about it.

  "Today!" I decide.

  "Okay, let's go." Henry says.

Funny, we just got through security and now we're leaving already. We go to the entrance and walk out of Revillion. We walk around the wall and go towards the old dungeon. We reach a busted up metal door.

"This is where Kara's hiding?" Henry ughs.

"What's so funny to you?" I ask.

"I don't know... It's just kind of dumb." Henry says.

"Being tortured isn't very funny." I say while opening the door.

There's a rge staircase, the walls are covered in blood. We walk down the stairs, once they end there's a rge hallway. It smells like rotten corpses in here, and the hall echoes with each one of our footsteps. It's so dark you can't even see five feet in front of you.

"Maybe we should've brought a torch!" Henry chuckles, there's a slight fear in his voice.

"We'll be fine, nobody here is alive anyways." I tell him.

  "Why's that?" Henry asks.

  "I killed them." I shrug.

We continue down the hall, eventually a rge amount of bodies cover the floor. I bend down to look at one. They each wear the brown coat and mask, that the traffickers wore. I could've sworn the guys I killed wore armor! Maybe Kara wasn't actually working with the traffickers?

"Can you stop examining the bodies!" Henry stutters.

"Why're you so scared? You literally killed multiple monsters on the way here!" I joke.

"I don't like the dark." Henry sighs.

We continue forward, the hall feels endless.

"How long is this pce!" Henry mutters.

"It took me an hour to reach the end st time." I say.

We start reaching cells. There's groups of four scattered about every couple hundred feet. One of the cells has a small body in it. The size makes it look like a child. These people are monsters! They probably left this child here for months with no food. I can't stay here and feel bad for them! I can actually save somebody here, I'll make it up for anyone I left behind st time.

  Henry grabs my hand.

"Let's keep going!" He tells me.

"I am, I was just looking." I mutter.

We walk further down the hall, there's more cells. Each one we pass gets more and more gruesome. We reach the cells me and Wick were held in. Bud's corpse is still ying there. His intestines are ying next to my broken chains, my sword is even still in the guards body.

"I need to grab something really quick!" I tell Henry.

"Alright, I'll just wait here then." He jokes.

I walk into the cell and pull my sword from the guards body. It has dried blood on the tip, I wipe it off with the guards clothes. This sword is a lot higher quality than the one I've been using! I pull out my current sword and toss it on the ground.

  "Let's go." I tell Henry.

We walk further down the hall, the cells quickly stop appearing. I start hearing the sound of dripping.

"What's that sound?" I ask Henry.

"No idea! Maybe just a leak?" He says.

We reach a rge dome, like room. There's nterns in this room, meaning we can finally see. The room is filled with dusty book shelves, I walk around and find the source of the dripping sound. A body hangs on the ceiling, dripping blood into a bucket. On the ground is an arrow painted with blood.

"Henry! I think I found something!" I yell.

Henry runs over to me, and stares at the hanging body. His eyes blink quickly, and one of his knees begin to give out.

"Who the hell would do this?" Henry stutters.

"I don't know! We just have to get the others. Then we can finally rest!" I tell Henry.

I help him onto his feet. He keeps his eyes closed so I walk him past the body. He opens his eyes, the blood arrow leads to another hall way. This one has torches on the wall, lighting it.

"You don't have to help me anymore!" Henry says.

I let go of him and we continue to push through the halls. This one is much cleaner than the other. It's clear somebody has actually been cleaning this one! either that or the Revillion guards didn't make it this far into the dungeon when cleaning it out. We reach the end of the hall, and it splits into two sections. There's a sign with arrows, the one pointing left says,

"Bathrooms" the other one is covered in a bloody arrow.

"So, should we go to the bathroom or follow the ominous bloody arrow? This is a hard choice." Henry chuckles.

I give his shoulder a slight push and walk to the right. Henry follows close behind, the hall is dark again. There's torches but they've all been blown out. Why is one hall lit up but this one isn't? Maybe Kara is pying tricks on us?

We move further through the hall, eventually I see a light. It's a small room. I see three people sitting in chairs, and a tall dy behind them. I rush forward, but Henry grabs my arm.

"Wait! This could be a trap." Henry whispers.

He's right. I creep forward slowly. Drawing my sword in case she attacks. We reach the room, Kara has a serious look on her face. She doesn't have any weapons on her.

"I'm gd you came. I was close to killing them!" She says.

She stands behind Terry, Derrick, and Peter. But I don't see Garret. What did she do!

  "Where's Garret!" I yell.

"The old guy? He was loud! And he almost alerted the guards, so I had to kill him. I wish I waited for you, I would've loved to see that look on your face!" She ughs.

She pulls a rope with her hand. I hear the sound of chains moving, and then Garret's body flies from the ceiling. His body makes a sptting sound as it flops to the ground. He has cuts all around his body, she must've tortured him. I fall to my knees, I feel my stomach turn, and my mouth fills with puke. I open my mouth slightly and cover Garret's bloody body.

"Ew!" Kara chuckles, "That's a lot better than I thought!"

"Why are you doing this!" I stutter.

"You took my family from me! So I'll take yours... I hate you Caleb. I want you to feel what my brothers felt. Most of all, what Louis felt while you cut his head off!" She yells.

"Louis killed him self!" I shout.

She grabs me by the hair, and punches me in the gut.

"You're the one who killed Bud! Stop bming me for your own actions!" I yell.

Kara tosses me my back. She fshes a ring towards me, it has a small blood droplet symbol on it.

"I have hundreds of holy knights that can kill attack your little revolution!" She says.

She starts walking around me, she saying things but, I can only hear gibberish. I look over at Henry. He's not moving, his eyes are wide. I reach out for him.

  "Help... me." I mutter.

  Kara stomps on my arm.

"Do you hear me?" She yells, "I'll kill everybody you love!"

I hear a faint scream coming from one of her hostages. Terry looks as if he's seizing out. I thought he was mute. How is he screaming? Kara walks over to him, he falls to the ground.

"What! You're ruining this for me!" She yells while kicking his stomach.

I struggle up to my feet. I unsheathe my sword, my body shivering. I'll use magic to enhance my muscles! I just need to help these four, even if it means my life! I push mana throughout my whole body until the pain fades, the amount of mana I used makes me feel woozy. I can't use anymore or else I'll pass out. I walk up behind Kara, she turns quickly to me. I slice down, cutting he chest. She doesn't even flinch at this.

"That's all you've got?" She ugh.

Her hand reaches out and grabs my sword. She snaps her fingers and my sword splits in half.

  "What!" I yell.

"I knew you'd grab that little sword of yours!" She chuckles, before punching me in the face.

I stumble back and put my arms in a defensive stance. She charges forward and punches the middle of my arm. I feel the vibration in my bones. She punches me again, this time I grab her wrist before she can reel back. I cut it off with my knife, she falls back. I run over to the others and cut the rope around their hands. We all run out, I look at Kara, but she doesn't follow us. She just stares. We reach the end of the hall and turn. Before we finish I hear Kara scream.

"I'll fucking kill you" She screams, her voice sounds like a screech.

She falls onto her knees, and begins to cry. I stand for an extra second, just staring. Henry grabs me and makes me continue on.

Our group makes it out of the dungeon. Henry carries Terry on his back. Derrick has cuts around his neck and face. They don't have anything to do with me! She... Fuck!
