The darkness pressed against Roman like a living prison.
Every attempt to move was met with the same unyielding resistance—an invisible weight holding him in pce. The void here was cold, endless, and alive with voices.
And the loudest of them belonged to the monster in front of him.
“You are a worthless tyrant,” it hissed, all twenty-seven heads speaking in fractured unison. “A butcher who drowned kingdoms in blood, all in the name of your so-called peace.”
One head pushed forward, its features horribly familiar—Allen’s face twisted with venom.
“And worse…” Allen’s voice was ice. “You even killed Ruth. The one I cherished most. My elder sister.” His teeth bared in a snarl. “You cut her down without hesitation—beheaded her before the eyes of all. From that moment, I swore I would kill you with my own hands. I succeeded once… yet the gods, in their idiocy, chose you as this world’s savior. I think they are fools. But I will kill you again.”
Allen’s bde swept through the void toward Roman’s soul—only to stop inches away, cshing against a radiant barrier of golden and bck aura wrapped around him.
Roman’s voice tore through the silence.
“Enough!”
The single word reverberated through the dark dimension like a shattering bell.
Tears streamed down his face, but his voice did not waver.
“I know what I did was wrong… I have never lied to myself about that. You think I didn’t feel it? You think I didn’t break inside when I killed Ruth? She was my world. My everything. But she was bmed for crimes she did not commit. I… I could have done anything to save her.” His voice cracked, but the fire in his eyes bzed brighter. “I lived for the dream we shared—a world at peace. But you killed me, Allen. You stole my chance. And now… somehow, I have a second chance. This time, I will build that world. And you will not stop me again.”
Something shattered an invisible prison breaking apart. The mirror-like shell of paralysis around his soul split into a thousand fragments, dissolving into the void. Roman could move again.
The monster roared, fury boiling in its many throats, and charged.
At that instant, the system’s cold, mechanical voice cut through the chaos:
“Congratutions on breaking free from paralysis. As a reward, you have unlocked the Soul Sword—wielder of divine and infernal power.”
In Roman’s hands materialized a bde unlike any other—its right edge gleaming in pure golden light, the essence of gods; its left edge shrouded in swirling bck aura, carrying the ruthless skill and darkness of his past life. The bance of creation and destruction pulsed within it, deadly enough to sy both gods and demons alike.
He raised it, the two auras swirling violently around his body.
The monster lunged. Roman stepped forward.
“Twelvefold Severance!”
1. Heaven-Piercing Cut – a vertical golden ssh splitting the void above.
2. Abyss Rend – a horizontal bck strike, tearing shadows apart.
3. Dragon’s Wing Arc – twin diagonal cuts crossing like a predator’s wings.
4. Moonlit Sever – a silent, crescent ssh of pure light.
5. Blood Eclipse – a sweeping strike blending light and shadow into one.
6. Thunder Fang – a lightning-fast thrust to pierce the enemy’s core.
7. Demon’s Tail Whip – a reverse cut, striking from behind with bck aura.
8. Sun’s Judgment – a bzing overhead swing of divine wrath.
9. Night’s Bane – a shadowed uppercut ssh breaking through darkness.
10. Twin Realms Divide – simultaneous dual-energy arcs cutting reality.
11. Soulbreaker Spiral – a spinning ssh carving through spiritual essence.
12. Eternal Silence – the final, absolute cut that ends all motion.
Each strike tore into monstrous flesh, golden and bck crescents ripping apart the abomination’s form. Heads tumbled into the void, vanishing into dust.
The monster stumbled, its form crumbling entirely.
Allen’s head was the st to remain, grinning even as it disintegrated.
“May you die again, brother… but this time, in agony.”
Roman met his gaze, voice steady.
“Your wish will never come true, Allen. Not again.”
The head vanished, and silence returned to the dark dimension.
At the center of Roman’s soul, the two magical cores—one from this life, one from the st—began to spiral toward each other. They merged, forming a perfect Yin-Yang Core, a banced union of divine and demonic power never before seen in this world.
“System Message: Task complete. You have successfully merged both cores. Returning to the mortal realm.”
In the physical world, Roman’s unconscious body floated above his bed. Twin auras brilliant gold and abyssal bck poured from him, filling the room with an almost holy dread.
Light fred. He descended slowly, lying once again upon the bed.
Lyra, who had been watching in stunned horror, dropped the cloth in her hands.
Her eyes went wide.
“Young master Roman is…
a ghost?!”
She let out a sharp scream and bolted for the Duke’s office, skirts trailing behind her.
