Chapter 38: Atlas

As the words left his mouth, Zeus raised his hand and swept it through the air.

A fsh of golden light and a towering figure appeared before him, standing over five meters tall.

This god was massive, with a cold, stern expression, wearing old-fashioned armor made of jade and stone.

He raised his hands in a circur motion toward the sky, and his back was slightly hunched as if carrying something incredibly heavy on his back with a crushing gravitational field swirling densely around him.

Viktor's speed was too fast, couldn't stop in time and crashed straight into him.

However, the immense force seemed to vanish as soon as he collided directly with the figure.

The god appeared to be knocked sideways, but his body moved as if it didn't move at all, like a mountain in motion.

Viktor, on the other hand, was left with his entire body numb from his own collision.

Ats slowly lowered his gaze, but his hands gradually closed into one enormous stone fist, wrapped in a suffocating gravitational field, and drove it hard into Vikotr's back.

Still moving at extreme speeds, Viktor found himself unable to maneuver freely.

The inexplicable gravitational field had already suppressed his body, and he could only watch helplessly as the terrifyingly heavy fist came crashing down on his back.

  "BOOM!"

The explosion shook the entire divine realm.

Viktor shot downward like a meteor, drilling hundreds of meters into the ground.

The ground above caved into a massive crater, shattered rock and billowing dust erupting from the depths.

The ground formed a huge, round pit, with flying stones and dust shooting up into the air.

The intense pain overwhelmed his body, and his spine was cracked with countless fractures, with his internal organs ruptured, and blood continuously poured from his mouth.

Viktor raised his head with effort and looked up at the towering silhouette outside the pit with his eyes narrowing with understanding.

The Titan who was condemned by Zeus to hold up the celestial heavens, Ats.

Ats looks silently at Viktor in the pit, his voice deep and resonant, almost as if trying to offer advice.

"Little one, you should give up. I am nothing like Ares. My divine power is unaffected by any external factors. Since ancient times, it has been directly bound to the Earth."

The meaning was clear: without the power to shake the sky itself, there was no hope of challenging this Titan.

  "Bah!"

Viktor spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of ruptured tissue, slowly rose to his feet, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth with a hand.

He stood in silence for two seconds.

Then Viktor suddenly looked up at Ats with a smile, but his voice was a little muffled because of the blood still spilling from his mouth.

"It's fine, just a minor injury."

  Ats's expression darkened.

"Why push yourself like this? You have witnessed my divine power. Is that not enough?"

Before Viktor could respond, Wonder Woman's anxious voice reached him from afar.

"Give up, Viktor. Ats's power is not much weaker than Superman's!"

Viktor didn't immediately reply. He floated slowly out of the crater, rising until he was face-to-face with Ats before stopping.

After swallowing the blood that surged again in his throat, Viktor tilted his head and shook it in Wonder Woman's direction.

"How can a teacher tell her student to give up? He's only comparable to Superman in strength."

He turned his head back, looking at the waiting Ats.

  "You're such a gentleman."

He raised his hand and gestured for Ats to come closer.

Ats sighed, and to everyone's surprise, he muttered something unexpected.

  "You reck..."

Afterward, Ats hurled a massive punch toward Viktor's side, and the force behind it was far beyond anything one could describe as a mountain.

At the same time, an inexplicable gravitational field appeared, trying to trap Viktor in pce.

The terrifying punch approached like a storm, but just before the gravitational field reached him, Viktor quickly dodged backward, instantly creating some distance.

As the massive fist grazed past him, Viktor smiled, casually dispersing the gust of wind that followed the punch.

  "You really are slow."

Seeing that his attack had been effortlessly evaded, Ats didn't get angry and instead slowly retracted his fist and spoke in a low, deep voice.

"However, you still can't move me... And once our bodies make contact, my gravitational lock engages several times faster than projecting it through empty space. Can you still withstand another punch from me?"

"I'll have to try. I've never fought someone with this much raw strength and such slow speed..."

Before the words could finish, Viktor's body blurred into an afterimage, charging straight toward Ats's massive eye with a piercing punch.

  Ats's pupils shrank slightly.

He hurriedly raised his hand to block the strike while also pushing his gravity field to try to slow him down.

However, Viktor's attack was too fast. He quickly dodged the gravitational pull in a single sharp feint, and his fist smmed hard into Ats's forearm armor.

  "Boom!"

The deep, thunderous sound rang out as cracks like spider webs spread across Ats's armor, and his deep voice echoed from behind the shattered forearm armor.

"If you continue like this, your injuries will worsen."

He ignored the pain, vanishing once again in a fsh, moving just above the ground, continuously circling around Ats with fists raining down like a storm.

Viktor's punch carried enough force to sink an isnd, and he carefully aimed at the joints and weak spots in Ats's armor.

The sounds of breaking continued as Ats's chest armor, shoulders, and shins shattered, revealing his bronze-colored, solid flesh underneath.

  "Crack!"

  "Crack!"

The sounds of breaking continued, as pieces of the armor on Ats's chest, shoulders, and shins flew off, revealing the bronze-colored, solid flesh beneath.

Ats tried to fight back with heavy swings, but he was too slow. He could only endure as Viktor's fists rained down on him.

After dozens of powerful punches, Ats's armor was destroyed, and his exposed shoulders, sides, and thighs were covered with deep bruises, each one showing signs of ruptured blood vessels beneath the skin.

Viktor rose and pulled back, preparing to build momentum for another blow, but suddenly... his expression changed.

The intense pain surged through his nerves like a wave, and another stream of blood erupted from his mouth, spshing against Ats's shattered armor.

In the brief moment of distraction, Viktor's speed suddenly slowed.

He gritted his teeth, trying to accelerate again, but the instant his fist connected with Ats's chest and his fingertips brushed against the warm flesh beneath the armor, his entire body froze.

Ats seized the opportunity and used his brief contact to unleash his gravitational field. The invisible force acted like chains, locking him in pce.

  "I've got you."

Ats's voice was emotionless. Since the boy wouldn't listen to his warnings, Ats wouldn't hold back anymore.

He raised his right hand, formed a massive fist, and the air around him twisted and colpsed under the immense force.

The punch, with the terrifying force of a falling pnet, smmed into Viktor's abdomen.

  Viktor's vision instantly went bck.

The impact was so overwhelming that his body didn't even have time to feel pain before his mind briefly shut down.

The punch nded, causing his abdomen to cave in, and the sound of his ribs cracking was loud, as blood gushed from his mouth and nose, and his body was sent flying through the air.

  "Ugh..."

He didn't know how far he'd flown, but he crashed into several small mountains in the distance before finally coming to a stop.

The debris rained down around him as he colpsed onto the ground. The excruciating pain in his spine made even lifting his head a struggle.

However, Viktor's fingers remained tightly clenched into the ground, and his nails broke, and blood oozed out, but he still refused to let go.

After regaining his consciousness, the fighting spirit in his eyes hadn't died down, and it only fred up more intensely because of the pain.

Ats jumped high into the air and came down like the sky itself was falling, shaking the ground beneath them.

He watched Viktor struggle to get back up with pieces of his broken armor falling around him.

"Do you still want to fight?"

Viktor didn't answer, his gaze was a bit bnk, and he suddenly exhaled forcefully before disappearing once again.

Ats stood silently, raising his fists, his body alert and watching for any movement.

  Viktor changed his strategy.

He pretended to slow down, allowing Ats to catch a glimpse of his afterimage.

As Ats swung his fist, Viktor suddenly surged forward, sped up his speed, closing the distance, and gathered what strength he had left into his fist and aimed for the bruises he left on Ats.

After dozens of strikes that nded because he couldn't block in time, Ats's bruises gradually turned into dark bloodstains, and the gravitational field around him began to become unstable.

Ats himself remained composed throughout as he swung his huge fists in constant sweeping motions.

He didn't even need to nd another hit directly. The wind pressure created by his swings sent Viktor's body trembling uncontrolbly.

Viktor was struggling to maintain his bance and was unable to dodge in time.

The powerful gusts grazed his shoulder and back, reopening wounds and causing fresh blood to soak his body.

Viktor's vision blurred from the loss of blood, but his focus remained sharp, waiting for an opening.

After a few minutes of dodging, in the instant when Ats missed a punch and lost his bance, Viktor closed the distance, putting all his remaining strength into his right fist, and smmed it hard into the bruise on Ats's neck.

Clearly, Ats hadn't expected him to charge in head-on and didn't have time to raise his arm to block.

  "Crack!"

The sharp sound of bone breaking drowned out the rumble of the ground beneath them.

Ats's neck snapped violently to the side, and his massive form staggered.

The gravitational field around him instantly destabilized and colpsed.

Viktor looked up at the fading figure of Ats, and to his surprise, a faint smile appeared in Ats's mouth before crashing to the ground with a thunderous impact.

The ground trembled as debris and dust filled the air, and Ats's life force was extinguished.

Viktor was finally able to rex a little and colpsed onto the ground.

The ground was scorching from the violent winds and the friction of the punches.

He was drenched in blood, and his wounds kept bleeding.

The fractures in his spine nearly went all the way through his back, and even moving a finger brought excruciating pain.

Suddenly, a powerful figure appeared through his blurred vision, stepping through the ground with steady steps.

A clear, confident voice sounded in his ears.

"I am Hercules—also the third god to challenge you."
