Chapter 11: Physical Test

In the secret boratory on the top floor of Wayne Enterprises, the cold white light spread across the shiny metal floor, and dozens of technologies emitted faint buzzing sounds.

Bruce Wayne had transformed from his usual rexed self into a white b coat, looking much calmer and sharper.

This was the kind of expression Viktor had imagined Batman would have.

  "First, the basic strength test."

Bruce pressed a button on the control panel, and a heavy ptform in the middle of the b slowly lifted. Behind the ptform was a giant wall made of hundreds of huge metal tubes and pistons resembling a terrifying beast.

The screen in front of them simultaneously dispyed the initial parameters.

"Hit the pte with full force, no need to hold back."

Viktor furrowed his brow. The giant metal thing looked frightening, but he had dismantled even more terrifying things in his past.

  "Are you sure?"

  Bruce chuckled twice.

"This is specially designed. Superman has also tested his strength here."

Viktor nodded and walked up to the weight ptform.

He took a deep breath, his right arm muscles tightened in an instant, and his arm visibly grew bigger. In the next instant, his fist smmed into the alloy pte, and the dull impact echoed in the closed space.

The machines behind the ptform hummed, and many piston-like metal parts started moving steadily, dispersing the force out.

  "Boom—"

The numbers on the control panel screen started jumping wildly before finally stabilizing at a terrifying number.

Bruce's pupils suddenly shrank, and his fingers quickly slid across the screen to double-check the data.

"That single impact force: one hundred twenty-seven tons... ... That means the static weight limit is at least eight hundred million tons."

He murmured softly, his voice filled with barely contained shock.

"This power is enough to lift a small isnd... To put it into perspective, the smallest of Australia's offshore isnds weighs only about six hundred million tons. I heard you haven't fully adapted to your current strength yet."

"Yeah, that's right. Before I escaped, I went through a brutal battle. Viltrumites can gain strength through fighting in a very logical way."

He wasn't surprised by this. The Viltrumites were known for their strength, but he never thought healing from such a bad injury would make him this much stronger all at once.

He stretched his wrist and felt the power rushing through his body.

"I can tell… this still isn't even my real limit."

Next came the speed and reflex testing.

The track on one side of the boratory lit up instantly, and high-speed moving targets zipped across the space at multiple times the speed of sound, leaving trails of afterimages behind.

Viktor's figure shifted, becoming a blurred shadow. He chased after them, but a few times he was just half a second too slow. Then, he decided to use his limit, and he accidentally smashed right through several targets and broke them into pieces.

Fortunately, the Viltrumites' flight abilities were excellent enough to perform complex, tight turns even in extremely narrow spaces.

This prevented him from crashing into the walls or flying out of control.

"Your maximum speed is Mach 5.7, far exceeding an ordinary superhuman, but your neural response speed only matches the movement state of Mach 3.8 ."

Bruce stared at the dynamic trajectory on the screen and analyzed, "Your reactions aren't fast enough yet to match your speed. You're faster than your own reflexes right now."

As soon as Bruce finished speaking, Viktor adjusted his position and started again. This time, Viktor deliberately slowed his unch speed, gradually adapting his body to its limits.

As the test progressed, the values on the screen became smaller and smaller. In just ten minutes, Viktor was able to precisely capture every target at Mach 5, but every time he struck, the target was completely destroyed.

  Bruce was even more surprised.

"Your adaptability growth rate is incredibly fast, far exceeding known superhuman species. Is this a Viltrumite's innate talent?"

Viktor didn't answer. He simply stopped and waited for the next test. He knew very well that this rapid adaptability was honed during the life-and-death trials on Viltrum.

Those who couldn't keep up with the enemy's speed had long since become corpses.

Next is the defense test. After Viktor took off his shirt, Bruce first activated the high-pressure energy cannon. The energy beam hit his chest with a sizzling sound, but it didn't leave even a single mark.

Then, Bruce brought over an alloy box containing various weapons.

"Next, we'll test for penetration resistance. These weapons are infused with N-metal."

Seeing the confusion on Viktor's face, Bruce expined.

"N-metal comes from the pnet Thanagar, which is the home pnet of Hawkman. This metal has anti-gravity, energy conduction, and enhanced penetration properties. It can interfere with most superhumans' biofields and can even cause damage to god-like beings. It's a rare material in the universe capable of bypassing defenses."

A mechanical arm rising from the underground grasped a long knife infused with N-metal and swung it at Viktor's arm with full force.

The moment the bde made contact with his skin, a harsh metal scraping sound rang out, and a shallow cut appeared on his arm, but it quickly healed at a visible speed.

"The bde can bypass the defense."

Bruce recorded the data and then switched the mechanical arm for a specially crafted handgun.

"Now, let's test the N-metal bullets."

  "Bang!"

The gunshot rang out, and the N-metal bullet sped toward his shoulder.

However, the bullet bounced off like it hit a wall, flew backward, and smashed a small hole in the b wall, but his shoulder only had a faint red mark that disappeared almost immediately.

  "Strange."

Bruce furrowed his brow, tapping his fingertips on the control panel.

"The bde can break through defenses, but the bullet can't? They both have the same N-metal. The only difference is the area of contact and the way the force is applied."

He pondered for a moment, and a fsh of realization crossed his eyes.

"Your powers might be reted to the unique microscopic structure of Viltrumites. This structure can spread out impacts but struggles to resist linear cutting forces."

This discovery made Bruce even more cautious. The Viltrumite's body structure was far more complex than he had imagined. However, he didn't delve further into the topic.

Instead, Bruce took out a sterile syringe and said to him:

"I need to draw a small blood sample for basic analysis. It won't cause you any harm."

Viktor extended his arm without resistance.

The specially made needle vibrated at an imperceptible frequency before it was forced into his skin with some effort. However, the following blood extraction went smoothly.

  Afterward, Viktor suddenly spoke.

"Viltrumites have a known weakness: sonic weapons."

  Bruce froze for a moment.

  Viktor continued speaking.

"The excessive sonic energy can interfere with and stimute our eardrums and brain. In severe cases, It can disturb our bance, restrict our flying capability, and induce severe pain."

Bruce was silent for a moment before looking up at him.

"I understand that you want to test your limits, but the bde and bullet tests were based on strength data and were calcuted within a safe range. The goal was to understand the boundaries of your abilities, not to harm you, and using sonic weapons would directly cause serious harm to you, and it would go against the purpose of the test."

"I need to know exactly where my limits are."

  Viktor's tone was firm.

"On Viltrum, those who don't know their weaknesses and limits don't survive the first trial."

  Bruce shook his head.

"I don't have a sonic weapon ready here. They are developed and stored in Batman's secret base. If you insist, I can arrange it ter, but not now."

Seeing that Bruce was firm about it, Viktor didn't press further.
