On the way to Salem City, Diana clearly seemed like she wanted to say something but was holding back.
He noticed Diana's unease and took the initiative to ask.
"What's wrong, Ms. Prince?"
"I just wanted to tell you… don't be mad or upset about Batman watching you and keeping tabs on you. He's always like that and doesn't worry about the things he said earlier either."
After hearing her words, Viktor raised his eyebrow.
"Mad? Watching? What's there to mind about that?"
Diana was a little stunned. After all, when she had accidentally found the bug Batman had pced on her, she had been furious for quite some time.
Their flying speed, which had been slightly ahead, slowed down a bit as Diana carefully looked at Viktor's face.
She realized the young man seemed genuinely calm and couldn't help but feel confused.
"You've only been on Earth for a short time, and you've already encountered something like this. Doesn't the feeling of being watched or having your freedom restricted make you uncomfortable?"
He straightforwardly shook his head, pondered for two seconds on how to respond, and then a faint smile appeared on his face.
"I've been on Earth for almost twenty days now. Except for the three days I spent unconscious, the week I spent recovering, and the eight days I've spent with you, Ms. Prince, have felt like a vacation to me."
"There's no training pushing my physical limits, no one forcing me to fight to the death with other kids or some even older than me. There are no instructors shouting at me or abusing me."
Viktor's gaze became slightly unfocused, clearly lost in some heavy memories.
"Do you know? It's the first time I've heard the word 'vacation' since I arrived on Earth. On my pnet, a vacation is a privilege granted only to warriors who are at least five hundred years old and have made exceptional contributions."
"In the first ten years of my life, every day, when I opened my eyes, I was always faced with battles, injuries, killing... and the insults and beatings from my instructors."
Diana had initially considered teaching him as just a mission when she received Bruce's Batman. She had no idea about his past, and this week had simply been about training him as a young warrior who needed help in some areas.
This week had felt like a repy of the training and education she had received as a young girl on Paradise Isnd. The only difference was that now she was the one teaching, not the one learning.
It wasn't until Viktor spoke in detail about his past that Diana felt a mix of shock and sympathy rise within her heart.
"How could such a race exist?"
After she first arrived in human society, Diana described life on Paradise Isnd to others, and the strange expressions on their faces seemed to constantly remind her of how primitive the Amazons were in comparison to human society.
Now, Diana truly understood how it felt.
Diana's impression of Viltrum dropped to a negative number, and she felt even more sympathy for this young man who almost never smiled or showed much emotion on his face.
"So… should I be happy you didn't get mad and fly right up to Batman to punch him?"
Diana asked with a little joke in her voice.
Viktor gave a somewhat speechless sideways gnce ahead, thinking to himself that maybe Diana and Batman had some personal grudge against each other.
"Since I arrived on Earth, I haven't hidden most of my past or what Viltrum is like. It's only natural for some Earthlings to be wary of me, considering Viltrum is a civilization that glorifies the invasion of other pnets."
Viktor sighed.
"To put it more harshly, Ms. Prince, I've seen a lot of the Justice League's stories on TV. The personalities of the members were pretty obvious in most interviews and the press conference when it was first formed. To be honest, the Justice League, except for Batman, most of you seem a bit na?ve."
"Superman, Fsh, and Shazam—those are the types that can earn trust easily just by pying the victim. They're really easy to trick. Aquaman, Green Lantern, and you, Ms. Prince, either have a personal errand to manage or other organizations that divide your attention, making you the type who can't dedicate full focus to the Justice League."
Diana instinctively wanted to retort, but his next sudden change of topic stopped her.
"I saw an old report that said Mr. Bruce, who works with Batman, was really generous and took care of most of the Justice League's expenses. See? Even the main sponsor comes from Batman's personal connections."
This sentence hid a secret that Diana had to keep, and it made her momentarily speechless.
"The funding, pnning, communications, base relocation, danger alerts—in an internationally famous organization, all of this is handled by just one person."
Diana stared wide-eyed, unable to think of anything to say in response. In fact, two years ago, Batman was the only one who opposed forming the Justice League.
Now, Batman has become the core of how the League keeps running.
"He's not the only one. There's Cyborg helping out too."
After a long pause, Diana finally managed to offer a rebuttal, but it wasn't very forceful.
Viktor didn't respond this time. He actually had a sharper opinion about Cyborg.
For example, despite possessing universe-level advanced technology, Cyborg's greatest role seems to be serving as a server and artificial AI.
In a pce that cims to have freedom of speech, Cyborg hadn't stepped in to control public opinion. The Justice League had been harshly criticized online.
However, Cyborg is also the only one who, aside from his brief appearance when the Justice League was first founded, has never been seen in the public eye again.
For the majority of the public, they still think of Cyborg as just a machine with powerful technology and weapons.
The true extent of Cyborg's abilities was not publicly avaible, and Viktor had no reason to have access to such information.
As they flew through a yer of clouds, Viktor exhaled a breath of mist, spreading his hands out towards Diana, who was still staring at him.
"I can sense that you all are very kind people. So, I understand why you might think Batman is hard to deal with. But to me, Batman is just someone who's more direct with his words. So far, the way he's treated me has been more understanding than the most gentle instructor on my pnet."
He wasn't making this up.
From the beginning to the end, Batman had only warned him a few times from a human perspective, and that was way better than the instructors back home who would break his leg without a second thought.
Diana was taken aback by this surprising evaluation of Batman. She anxiously tugged at a strand of her hair, clearly feeling a little frustrated.
"Viktor."
"Ms. Prince?"
Diana started grinding her silver teeth together.
"I really hope… if one day you ever lose your powers… remember to go rob a bank in Gotham City."
'?'
That sentence made no sense at all, and Viktor just decided to ignore it. He flew a little lower and focused on the buildings of the city below.
"Hey, Ms. Prince… did we already arrive in Salem City?"
