"Thanks," Elias said softly as he slowly pulled away from Liora Voss's arms and stood up straight.

  "You…" Liora Voss's lips moved a few times. What she wanted to say was obvious, but the words died in her throat and she fell silent.

  Whether Elias had a fever or not had nothing to do with her. If it weren't for Serena Bckwood's orders, she would never have wasted time on him in the first pce. To put it bluntly, whether he lived or died was none of her concern.

  Elias seemed to know what she wanted to say. He gave her a weak smile, his voice slightly hoarse. "I'm fine."

  The short distance of less than a hundred meters took Elias a full five minutes to walk. Liora Voss showed no impatience, her eyes filled with interest.

  This fragile version of Elias felt very easy to control.
