Chapter 300: Who Dares Attack My Father!

Henwell curses under his breath, then once again chops off the limbs of the Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits.

He drags them back within his control range, preventing the One-Eyed Fury Spirits from healing them.

After a while, Henwell’s expression darkens.

An even more frustrating problem arises.

The glowing single-eye symbols on the chests of those Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits reduced to stumps around him begin to fade.

At the same time, several One-Eyed Fury Spirits in battle start glowing on their chests, eventually forming new single-eye symbols.

Helpless, Henwell charges over to eliminate these newly formed Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits.

It seems that simply draining their health bars won’t stop the Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits from reappearing.

Rather than letting One-Eyed Fury Spirits in other areas evolve into Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits and break through other squads’ defenses, Henwell decides it’s better to handle them himself.

After all, Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits are a real headache for other squads.

But for Henwell, killing Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits is just one extra attack beyond sying One-Eyed Fury Spirits.

Moreover, as long as Henwell keeps killing Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits, it’s as if some hatred mechanic causes them to continuously spawn nearby.

And the newly spawned Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits always target Henwell.

After another half hour of fighting, more than a dozen new Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits gather around Henwell.

Now, nearly twenty Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits surround him.

During this time, all squads suffer varying casualties.

The worst hit is Obian’s supporting knight squad.

Obian originally pnned to lead this squad to break through and regroup with others.

But as the Fury Spirits’ numbers swell, the knights’ stamina and fighting spirit drain rapidly.

Not only do they fail to break out, but two more knights fall.

To make matters worse, two new Twin-Eyed Fury Spirit spawn points appear nearby—adding insult to injury for this already depleted squad.

Now, breaking through is out of the question; even Obian himself struggles to retreat.

Elsewhere, Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits begin appearing sporadically in other squads, but their numbers remain limited.

With Battle Knights present, the damage isn’t severe, but the pressure on each squad is undeniable.

Just as Obian feels the weight of urgency, two more agonized cries ring out nearby.

Obian raises his shield, smashing the jaw of a Twin-Eyed Fury Spirit before him.

With a swift backward swing, the hilt of his longsword crashes into the glowing single-eye symbol on the Fury Spirit’s face, shattering it.

Stepping back, he thrusts his sword through the glowing chest symbol.

After dispatching this Fury Spirit, Obian quickly sys two nearby One-Eyed Fury Spirits.

Only then does he have a moment to gnce back at what’s happening.

Of the four remaining combat-ready knights, one has been killed by Fury Spirits, another lies on the ground with wounds.

Obian sms his shield forward, knocking away a Fury Spirit preparing to finish off the wounded knight, then drags the injured man back into their defensive circle.

Though calling it a defensive circle is more symbolic now, it’s barely holding.

Out of the original ten knights, five have died, three are seriously wounded, and the remaining two are utterly exhausted.

This is when the true terror of the Fury Spirits reveals itself.

They feel no pain, show no fear, and never tire.

For anyone, that’s a nightmare enemy to face.

On a normal battlefield among humans, as long as soldiers are human, facing death and bloodshed head-on, fear is inevitable.

Fear is humanity’s oldest and most basic emotion.

No matter how strong, people struggle to completely rid themselves of that fear when confronted with mortal danger.

Only through sheer willpower can it be temporarily suppressed.

Knights on the battlefield, thanks to their overwhelming lethality, inspire dread in enemy soldiers, who try to avoid these human-shaped killing machines.

Especially when a cluster of knights appears, ordinary soldiers tend to give way.

Even among knight groups, full annihition of one side is rare.

Despite rge numbers on the battlefield, when knights unleash their fierce killing power, enemies usually get a moment to regroup and find effective countermeasures.

No matter how brief, that pause gives knights a chance to catch their breath.

But the current situation is starkly different.

The knights have been fighting for over two hours.

Even excluding Henwell’s kills, over two thousand Fury Spirits have fallen.

Yet their numbers haven’t diminished. Instead, elite units like the Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits emerge.

The Fury Spirits keep coming relentlessly, fearlessly besieging the knights.

The knights on the field barely get a moment to catch their breath, especially Obian’s rescue squad.

Other knight squads have more people in their defensive circles, allowing them to rotate out heavily drained fighters for brief rest and recovery.

But Obian’s team spends every single second of the past half hour locked in brutal combat.

Their nerves are stretched tight, and stamina drains rapidly.

These knights are pushed to their absolute limits—both mentally and physically.

Fighting alone is exhausting, let alone life-or-death brawling.

  Adrenaline?

At this point, no amount of it can hold them up.

Obian orders the two remaining knights to guard the rear while he stands alone at the front, shielding the three wounded in the middle.

But even with Battle Knight strength, Obian feels the crushing pressure mounting.

Minutes ter, while rushing to aid the two knights behind him, Obian takes a bde to the back.

Though his armor is top-tier, it’s no extraordinary alloy.

The heavy greatsword of a Twin-Eyed Fury Spirit tears through his back.

The force sends Obian staggering forward two steps.

He spins around, driving his sword into the Fury Spirit’s chest.

Then he sweeps upward along the torso, slicing through to the head, destroying both glowing eye marks.

Just then, another Twin-Eyed Fury Spirit charges, smming Obian with its shield.

While still airborne, Obian barely blocks a spear thrust aimed at his neck.

Despite his efforts, the spear pierces his abdomen.

After nding, Obian throws his shield at the pursuing Fury Spirit.

When the spear-wielder knocks the shield aside, Obian’s already up, sshing off both legs with a single stroke.

He circles behind, cleaving half the creature’s head off with one strike, then driving his sword through its chest from behind.

No time to rest after killing this one.

Another Twin-Eyed Fury Spirit rushes in, accompanied by several One-Eyed Fury Spirits.

Without his shield, Obian’s defense falters, and soon he takes another ssh to his thigh.

Worse still, two more Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits materialize nearby, charging straight at him.

Henwell has been monitoring the battle closely from afar.

Without hesitation, Henwell pnts his feet and leaps over ten meters high, covering more than fifty meters in a single bound, nding right in front of Obian.

Obian stares in stunned silence as Henwell descends from the sky, crushing two Twin-Eyed Fury Spirits beneath his feet.

Henwell’s war spear dances through the air, instantly clearing a wide space.

  Damn it!

  Who dares attack my father!
