44. Today or Tomorrow

“Why are they specifically targeting this village?” Andrew is thinking about the scenarios.

“They might still attack Harkey again,” his mind was trying to predict their next moves.

  After some seconds of thought,

“Their next target will be you, Ken,” Andrew told them.

“Me, I am not even from that village,” Ken replied, shocked.

“You are their biggest problem, now,” Andrew explained.

“That’s right, but when and where will they attack him?” Harkey asked.

“If we know that, we won’t be here thinking,” Andrew replied, thinking.

The break ended as they returned to the class.

“I am their next target, I don’t know how I feel about that,” Ken thought about it in the middle of the class.

“Anyway, I have to be prepared to defeat them,” Ken is still thinking.

“What will he do if he faces that Veris? He even defeated Roger,” Andrew doing the same, in the class.

“I need to get stronger,” he thought.

The day ended as Ken returned home.

“I promised that I would protect them. What should I do?” Ken is thinking about the village even at home.

“Wait, this might work out well,” Ken created a plan after thinking for a few minutes.

He then left home for training.

Ken explained the fight to Roger in the same way he explained it to his parents.

“He must be lying. How would a normal person hurt him?” Roger thought after hearing out Ken.

Then Ken carried out his training, as he is in search of new moves; meanwhile, Andrew is learning from Roger every day.

Roger felt happy when training the two, as he hadn’t trained anyone for decades.

The next day went normally for Ken.

In the evening, while leaving Roger’s house,

Ken revealed his plan to Andrew.

“That’s a risky idea, but it might work out well,” Andrew gave his opinion.

“Come along with those two. Let’s meet there in the morning,” Ken told him.

“He is thinking ahead, even though it is dangerous. I think it will eventually work out,” Andrew thought.

  “Let’s meet tomorrow,” Andrew muttered.

  November 26, Sunday,

Ken woke up early and left for training. Nothing special happened there as the training went as usual.

Both Ken and Andrew left Roger’s house at 7:00 am.

“I have informed them,” Andrew said.

“Ok, I have told my parents that I will be back by noon,” Ken told him.

“Then, I am going there,” Ken said and began walking in the east direction.

Andrew walked in the south direction.

Ken walked for almost 45 minutes towards the place where he wanted to execute his plan.

“I am waiting here, come soon,” Ken, pretending to be on a call, speaking out loud while walking towards them.

He pretends to be speaking to someone for more than 30 minutes as he speaks loud enough for anyone to hear.

He mentions the location several times. He arrived at the planned location at 7:52 am.

It was an empty grassland where there were no houses to be seen nearby. It was a little closer to a mountain.

The climate was normal. Fresh air was the highlight of the place.

He just walked around the area for about 10 minutes until the event that he had been waiting for had occurred.

  Several men walked towards Ken.

“First thing, let’s count,” Ken began counting.

“Wow, there are 30 men out here,” Ken concluded.

“We were watching you for several days, waiting for an opportunity,” a man began speaking.

“We hoped for this, you leaving the city and we catching you off guard,” he told, laughing.

“You fell into our trap; in fact, you fell into your own trap,” all the men began laughing.

  A few seconds later,

“I am not the one who fell; you are the one who fell into my trap,” Ken replied, smirking.

“What are you saying? We fell? You could have defeated our 10 men last time, but now we are 30,” that man told Ken.

“Tapio, stop speaking, kill him quickly,” Rheos ordered.

  Grgh!

  Spark!

Tapio took out his gun, pointed it at Ken, and shot.

  Dodged!

“He dodged a bullet.” Everyone around there was shocked.

Tapio began shooting at him, but nothing hit him.

Ken swayed away all the bullets that came towards him.

“Is this your strength? I thought you could fight me,” Ken told Tapio.

Everyone around there took out their guns.

“Wait, I will fight him, don’t shoot him,” Tapio shouted and came towards Ken.

“I will fight you,” he told Ken.

“Fine, but how long can you fight?” Ken replied.

Tapio got angry and ran towards him.

He tried punching Ken’s face with his right hand.

  Block!

“How many times will you guys try this? I am bored, try something new,” Ken told him while blocking with one hand.

  Ignis Fist!

He uses his frequent move on Tapio. The move worked on Tapio even though he wasn’t sent further distances.

All 29 of them present there were shocked by his attack, but Tapio refused to give up as he got up from the ground.

  “You are strong,” he muttered.

“But not as me,” he ran towards Ken and tried using his fist to attack him.

  Block!

“I said try something new,” Ken told him.

  Ignis Fist!

He used the same move again, but this time with a little more effort and as a result, Tapio was thrown to the ground and didn’t get up again.

Ken defeated the next 10 that came his way, even though they were stronger than the previous fighters he had faced when he saved Icaron.

  “19 left,” he muttered.

“He seems tired, we should capitalise this,” Rheos gave some instructions to 3 people nearby him.

Ken manages to defeat the next 15 even though he was near exhausted.

  “4 left,” he muttered.

“Aw! I might lose to these 4, I cannot use my power for long, I must try to defeat these guys as quickly as I can,” he thought.

Rheos stood there, didn’t come to attack Ken.

  The remaining 3 spread themselves.

“What are they doing?” Ken thought, confused.

2 of them ran towards Ken from opposite directions.

“These 3 won’t give up that easily. The remaining 26 are still training, but these guys are experienced,” Rheos thought.

One tried hitting with his left wrist, the other tried kicking.

  BLOCK!

“This is getting tougher. I might need to use my power to defeat them,” Ken finds himself in a difficult situation.

  HIT!!

Ken was thrown to the ground by Lars.

  5 minutes passed,

“Whose mind should I read?” Ken was confused.

He decides to read Lars. For the next five minutes, he was able to block and get away from Lars’ attack, but he couldn’t do the same for the other two.

He was thrown to the ground, this time by Jesper. He got up after a few seconds.

“I might be lost tomorrow, but today I will try,” he said, nearing his exhaustion.

“Time to use my strongest weapon,” Ken decides.

  Gentle breaker!!!

His deadly weapon helped him defeat Jesper as he was thrown several meters apart by the blow.

“That was quick and strong,” Rheos thought.

Both Rowe and Lars were shocked by that move, but Ken was exhausted.

He knew that he was nearing defeat.

“I think you need some help, Ken,” Andrew shouted, entering the field.

Ken smiled, even after being exhausted.

The other 3 stood still as they didn’t expect this.

“Time to wrap up,” Andrew told them.
