67. Time: Pain or Cure

Ken was holding his left shoulder with the injuries hurting him, but still he managed to wear a smile when he heard the words from Andrew.

He realised that his hoodie was filled with a mixture of both blood and dirt.

He took a brief moment and had a look at his hoodie, and it took less time until he realised that the hoodie he was wearing had a special place in his heart.

He recalled that moment, that time in the morning, that day as a whole.

Snapshots of the moments were all over his mind, the hat, the red dress and her.

Suddenly, he didn’t feel all his pain; it felt like he was not present in the world. He remembered the first words that she spoke.

He heard those words once again, but the feeling didn’t change.

“It’s my hat, can you give me?” were the words he heard.

  PUNCH!!!

The knight didn’t waste any time and realised that Ken was not in the present state, and took his opportunity.

Ken was thrown to the ground yet again.

Blood started flowing from his nose, but still he felt no pain. His mind is still living that moment.

  “Ken!!!!” Andrew screamed twice.

Ken returned to the present after hearing Andrew's second scream. He doesn’t have any time, as before he could take his sword, the knight was closing on him.

“I still haven’t changed since that day…” he said, grinning before he stood up.

“Sorry, knight, it’s my time now,” he shouted before eventually using his power.

  Somewhere in Aurelios,

“I am late as always, things might be messy out there at this time,” The king muttered.

“He might escape from there; we should reach there soon,” his son told him.

“You’re right, the knights are enough to stop others, but even they can’t stop him. We should be there soon,” the king replied.

  Inside the prison,

“I am glad that I trained every day,” The chaos prince thought.

The battle was going evenly, even though neither of them was using their full powers. The brown-haired guy looked sharp and had an edge at the start, but as time passed on, the injured man began to thrive.

“Why is he taking this long?” the brown-haired guy thought.

“I can’t play around for long, we should leave out of here soon,” his thoughts.

  FIERCE OBLITERATE!!!

For the first time in their battle, a person unveils such a powerful strike. The slash was so precisely aimed and quick that it left a mark on the right shoulder of the brown-haired guy.

The brown-haired guy didn’t expect such an intense move at that time, but he still managed to escape with just a mark. Even though that mark alone could leave many faint, he just held it for a few seconds and was ready to show his attack.

“Chaos Prince… I cannot defeat your father in the state that I am in, but I can break him internally by killing you,” he told him.

“I am again giving you a chance to join me, but if you’re still declining that offer, then I have no other choice,” he added.

“You have shown one of your powerful moves, it seems. Now it’s my time,” the brown-haired guy told him before deciding to use his power.

The chaos prince didn’t think twice as he ran forward to attack him once again.

“Normal slash aiming at my right leg…” the brown-haired guy thought.

  BLOCKED!!

He blocked that swing of the sword with his bare hands.

“Kick from the left leg…” he read it too.

  CAUGHT!!

  PUNCH!!!

He released his sword and punched right at the face of the chaos prince after catching his left leg.

“Is he reading my mind? How is he guessing all the moves all of a sudden?” The chaos prince looked confused.

The real fierce battle started from there.

To the fight of the veteran,

“Galen… Medrick… Leave from here when you get a chance,” the veteran shouted.

“We have the advantage in terms of numbers, but that matters for nothing; it seems like he can single-handedly destroy anything,” the veteran thought.

“Coward, you coward… Fight me if you can,” the veteran told the scarred man.

  The scarred man turned back.

“You might have won that time, but I won’t lose to you now,” he muttered.

  PARALLAX BURST!!

The veteran started by using one of his attacks on him. The scarred man swayed away. He looked more focused than ever.

  IMPULSE DESCENT!!!

The scarred man unveils his move for the first time in this fight, but the veteran manages to escape from it easily.

Anders, Galen and Medrick were watching the fight from the ground, rooting for the veteran.

“I have never seen your fights, but I heard about them from many; now I can finally understand why you were considered the most dangerous man in that region at that time,” Anders thought, seeing the fight.

“Neither of them is looking down on energy; both of them seem equal in terms of strength,” Medrick muttered.

“Both of them might be equal in terms of strength, but the one who controls his emotions would come out on top,” Galen told Medrick.

  Outside the prison,

Ken decided to use his powers on the knight.

“Faking to hit with a sword, and kicking with your right foot instead…” he read his mind.

  KICK!!!

Ken kicked the leg of the knight, making him fall.

“How did he…?” The knight was out of words.

Then, Ken began running towards his left side.

“Seriously, what is he doing?” Andrew was in confusion, seeing Ken.

  KICK!!!

Rheos kicked right in the middle of Andrew’s chest, realising that he was not focused.

“You can’t look around when you’re fighting,” he said.

“You are right, but now that you've done it, I don’t have any other choice,” Andrew replied.

  SLASH!!!

  SWORDS CLASH!!!

Rheos managed to block the slashing of the sword.

Andrew kicked at the left knee of Rheos using his right leg.

Then, he ran forward to hit him with his sword, HOLD!!!

Rheos caught a sword with his bare hands.

  KICK!!!

He returned the favour by kicking Andrew’s left knee.

“I won’t leave any of you to escape from here for what you have to Veris,” Rheos told Andrew, with his eyes turning intense.

“Veris…” Andrew thought for a second to grasp what he was saying.
