32. The First Ignition

“I need to master that power, and if my mind-reading works along with it, that would be deadly,” Ken thought while walking home.

“It was interesting hearing about that power, right?” Andrew asked Ken.

“Yeah, I never expected something like that, and now the fact that we are learning about it makes it even more exciting,” Ken said with excitement written all over his face.

“Huh, I wish I could train tomorrow,” said Andrew.

“Yeah, he will not come tomorrow, right?” Ken thought in his mind.

“I would teach you once you come back,” he said with a smile.

“I would do my best to win,” Andrew told him.

Then they returned home, and after some thinking, Ken fell asleep.

The next day, Ken woke up early and was excited for the training. He left the home early at 5:30 am.

He arrived at Roger’s house at 5:45 am. Roger was surprised to see him that early.

“I never expected this from you, Ken,” Roger told him when he saw him near the gate.

“I was just excited,” Ken replied with a smirk.

Now we will learn how to use Core Ignis while attacking.

“First, come and attack me,” he ordered Ken.

“Sure,” Ken came forward with his hands itching to punch.

“Feel the air around you,” he said while Ken was running towards him.

BLOCK!! “Blocking is an important move as it enables the attack,” Roger said, holding Ken’s right hand.

  “What?” Ken couldn’t understand.

“I couldn’t get my hands out,” Ken is trying hard.

“Feel the ground, then,” Roger said before the attack.

  PUSH!

He just pushed Ken with his right hand, but Ken fell a distance apart.

“Ahh, what just happened?” Ken fell to the ground.

“He came forward like he was going to smash me, but just pushed me with a little force, and here I am several meters away,” he was confused.

“I also felt the wave of shock, right when he pushed me,” he muttered.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

“You are confused, right?” asked Roger.

  “Yes,” replied Ken.

“I used a little Core Ignis when I pushed you; that’s why you felt the shock as my pulse played a major part in it,” he explained.

  “Pulse?” Ken was shocked.

“Rather than me explaining, you try it yourself, now,” Roger said.

“Feel the air before blocking or defending, feel the ground when you are going to attack,” Roger muttered.

“Feel air? Ground?” Ken was somehow captivated by those words.

Roger placed 2 rocks, one on top of the other, right in front of Ken.

“Push the rock, right here, and break it apart,” Roger pointed out the middle point between the two rocks.

“I have to break by pushing?” Ken couldn’t understand the task.

“How can I break these by pushing?” Ken asked Roger.

“You can do it easily within some attempts, just focus on the point where you want to push,” he explained.

“First feel your Core Ignis, only when you feel, you get to use,” he added.

  “Feel?” Ken felt something.

“When you feel it, use just a little force with greater will to break this,” he concluded.

“Now, try and break this before 6:00 am,” Roger told Ken.

“I have to feel it first,” Ken thought.

“Feel the Ignis, feel it,” he closed his eyes.

  After a few minutes,

  BEAT! BEAT!

  BEAT! BEAT!

He could feel his heart racing.

He couldn’t hear anything when he felt the beat, but it’s not the only thing that he is feeling; his spine tensed.

His veins felt different; his blood flow increased.

His body felt light all of a sudden.

  SPARK!

He sensed something happening in his body.

He opened his eyes; his vision felt clean. He could focus on the exact point mentioned by Roger.

“His vision is different. What happened to him?” Roger thought when he saw Ken.

Ken’s legs pressed the ground hard, “Feel the ground,” he thought.

  PUSH!!

  BANG!!!

He pushed with just a little force, but the rocks were destroyed as if a hammer had hit them.

Both Roger and Ken couldn’t believe their eyes.

“He just pushed, but how?” Roger was in awe.

“I already felt something similar though,” Ken’s thinking.

“No way, he is using it for the first time, his control and precision are way too good,” Roger couldn’t get out of shock.

“Sorry, I might have used a little more force,” Ken apologized to Roger.

“No, you just pushed it,” Roger replied.

“But how did he exert that force?” he was confused.

“It took me a lot of time to hit it perfectly, but he just pushed and broke it at the first attempt,” he recalled his training.

“Maybe his grit is the reason for this; he has something in him,” Roger thought.

“How do you feel now? Did your hands hurt?” he asked Ken.

“Not really, I am feeling fresher now,” Ken replied.

  “You can leave,” Roger told.

  “What?” Ken was surprised.

“I need some time to digest this,” he thought when he said those words.

“You would feel the pain only after some time,” he said.

“Go home and come in the evening,” he added.

“I want to train more, but I need to save my energy for the evening too,” Ken thought.

“Ok, I would leave,” he waved as he left.

“I am feeling so happy,” Ken’s face was all bright.

“AAAhhh, I felt almost similar when I gave my blood in that cave,” he recalled.

“Maybe both are powers, but something must be connected, right?” he was thinking deeply while walking home.

Meanwhile, Andrew started his day with a walk at 5:10 am from his house.

He then turned it into a jog and eventually started running at his own pace. He finished it with a sprint at 7:05 am.

“I covered 25 kilometers, which is below average even though I walked at the start,” Andrew started his self-reflection session when he returned home.

“Tomorrow, I am going to increase my pace; I will complete 20 kilometers within an hour,” he sets a goal.

Ken returned home, and right away his father asked him, “How’s your training going?”

“It went well, Roger taught me about Core Ignis,” Ken replied.

“Core Ignis?” Ken’s father muttered; he was shocked.

“I don’t know what to feel about this one,” was the thought of his mother.

“I broke 2 rocks by just pushing them,” he explained to his family.

“You broke it by pushing?” Both his mother and father were shocked.
