Arc II - Chapter II - Episode I: "Fall of a God"

  Lyte of Utopia

  Arc II: “Universal Threat”

  Chapter II: “Mythical Kaelithian”

Episode I: “Fall of a God”

Akira and the ringleader exchanged blows in a high-intensity battle.

The arena lights guttered as ozone stung the air.

Black markings of a dragon skittered across Akira’s forearm like a living tattoo.

This guy can keep up with my Utopic Spirit Resonance without breaking a sweat!

“Alright! Then I’ll just have to turn it up! Golden Energy Mode: Layer Ten!”

Ten runes formed in Akira’s meridians as he stacked his Energy Mode with his Resonance.

His speed and strength increased tremendously— each movement kicking a gust of wind.

The two of them continued exchanging blows equally.

It made no difference! He’s still able to keep up with me! Akira thought as sweat rolled down his temple.

  “Layer Twenty!”

His Hair whipped back from the density of aether.

Hairline fractures crept across the stage tiles like a web as pressure stacked atop pressure.

The first few clashes went in Akira’s favor, but the ringleader adjusted quickly to match Akira’s power output.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

This guy… He’s powerful— too powerful. If anything slows him, it’s my pace— not my punches. He’s toying with me, staying just above my yield level.

Celestial Rend: Golden Verse of Utopia:

  “Utopic Star Destroyer!”

Akira launched a powerful beam of aether.

“Child’s play,” he said as he deflected the beam with one arm.

The shock front rolled over the first rows; banners snapped and went limp.

The beam sheared past, carving a molten furrow across the far wall— its heat washing over the stands like a furnace door swinging open.

“Let me show you a real art.”

The man raised both his hands overhead.

“Actually, I changed my mind. You’re not even worth the effort!”

He gathered a massive knot of aether and hurled it at Akira.

T-there’s no way! He’s only launching pure energy at me, and it’s that powerful!?

  “Don’t blink,” the ringleader snapped.

Akira braced, but it was to no avail.

The blast hammered him down from the sky.

Stone split, the world tilted— and went dark.

  Everything turned black…

[An Hour ago – The infirmary]

  Black.

  Everything was black.

“Yeah, just put him over there, I’ll check on him in a minute,” a voice said.

  Leo slowly opened his eyes.

Antiseptic bit at Leo’s nose, his ears ringing and his head pounding. Cold gel tugged at the skin of Leo’s temple where a sensor patch clung.

Monitors chirped off-rhythm while the floor thrummed with distant impacts.

“Oh, you’re up! Hey, Leo. I’m Asuka, one of Akira’s friends. How are you feeling?”

“I-I’m okay. My head kind of hurts… what the heck is going on out there?”

  “We’re under attack… by the A.S.S Gang.”

  Color drained from Leo’s face.

  “The A.S.S Gang is here!?”

  “You know of them?”

“Yes… They attacked my home world. I’m not from Earth. I was actually born on a planet called Caliek, not that far from here.”

“Oh… I’m sorry to hear that.”

“It’s fine. It’s not your fault. But if they’re really out there, then I want to go help fight against them!”

“No. Akira asked me to stay here and watch you. So that’s what I’m going to do.”

Asuka turned to Lian’s bed and the two people who were standing there.

“You guys can go back now; I don’t need any more help.”

“Right. I’m going to go join the fight,” Rayon said as he dashed out of the room.

“I’m staying here. It’s my job to watch over Lian,” Zane said.

“I still don’t see why he’s so important. Of course, I can understand why he could be important to you specifically, but—”

“He’s important to all of us. Lian is one of the last remaining members of the Elandarian race.

But even more than that, he is our protector. He is the god that watches over Solaris.”

  “The god?”

  “Yes.”

“If that’s true, then where was he when Apocalypse attacked?”

“He… was still undergoing his training at that point. The overseer before him was too old to protect the Earth at the time.”

“Okay… so are you like his bodyguard or something?”

“We’re simply friends. I, too, share a passion for protecting people, so it’s only natural that we get along.”

“Well, alright… It’s not like I’m gonna kick you out.”
