Chapter III: “Crisis”
Episode I: “New Threat: Solar Thief”
[Three years later…]
Akira had established himself within the Cosmic Guard, working as a bounty hunter.
He went on missions with Riella when requested of him; otherwise, he focused on improving his Spirit Resonance.
One day, a dire mission had been requested of them…
“Bad news!” Riella shouted, barging into Akira’s cabin.
“Eh?” Akira muttered, one eye opening, still half asleep.
“Come on, get up!” She walked in and pulled him out of bed.
“What’s the rush…” he said groggily, rubbing his eye.
“There’s a criminal who escaped! We have to get after him?”

“What!?” Akira jolted.
“Escaped from the Nova Parallax? I thought that was impossible.”
The Nova Parallax… a cosmic scar where space twists, warping aether into wild turbulence. The interference makes it nearly impossible to control one’s flux.
As such, using arts is deemed impossible in the region, making it the perfect place for the Cosmic Detainment Nexus… the max-security prison of the Cosmic Guard.
Reinforced with not only the strongest material in the universe— Eclipsed-Steel, but also the mysterious Oblivium, rumored to nullify aether and flow.
“No, he escaped before he reached the prison.” Riella panicked. “This is bad… the whole unit was wiped out!”
“Damn, then what are you waiting for! Let’s go!” Akira said from the door, rushing to put his shirt on.
“Tsk, that’s what I was trying to tell you!”
[Elsewhere, in another solar system…]
A ship belonging to the Cosmic Guard drifted aimlessly in space. Its engines ruptured, and the hull was torn to shreds.
Walking through one of the halls, a well-built man stopped to look through a window. He gazed at a small star system that was nearby.
Perfect… he licked his lips mischievously.
He continued walking through the destroyed ship, blood and corpses lining his path.
One of the bodies twitched, the guard still alive.
This is bad… I need to warn them!
He reached for his transmitter, pressing the emergency signal.
“Oh, can’t have that,” The criminal walked up to him.
The glare from his fiery eyes seared the corridor itself, and the guard’s throat locked before he could scream.
T-they need to know… that Ember, The Solar Thief, has broken free!
Gush!
Ember walked down the hall, licking the blood off his hand.
“Now, where is the arsenal?”
The crimson glow trickled down his gluttonous lips, but it was nothing compared to the inferno caged in his eyes— an inferno that was now loose upon the Universe...
