8:26 am.
A news broadcast started to air on the T.V screen...
Interrupting Julianne Hunter's scheduled watch.
And of it...
Dillan: Hello and a good morning to you all, citizens of Hypercity. Dillan Robbinson of Hypercity News speaking.
An oddity to be sure...
And of that oddity.
Dillan: I regret to inform you of the fact that citizens of the city at large have been reporting attacks from dogs all over the suburban area. We have Janice here to tell us what's going on. Good morning, Janice. Lovely to see you as always.
Janice: Morning, Dillan. It just so happens to be the panic of the morning. Several houses all across this area of Hypercity have spoken of several sightings of wild dogs gone rabid.
Dillan: Really?
Janice: Yes, Dillan. What many eye-witnesses report is that they all seem to have belonged to their...
And the beat went on...
8:27 am.
It was with that, that the teenage boy had finally finished the entirety of his meal. In fact, all he had left now was just a few sips of orange juice, which he promptly chugged down.
And thereafter, came the dawning.
That sudden feeling that there was nothing left to do...
But to go to school.
The agony.
Max simply stayed on the chair...
Looking flatly at his surroundings...
Not an emotion, not a feeling...
Truly, Mondays did indeed have superpowers...
And of those powers...
Well, Max was none too happy about any of them.
However, eventually he would need to get up.
That much he knew.
And so, while he stayed right there...
Seated on the chair...
Not doing anything else...
He eventually, and with a sigh...
Pulled himself up and grabbed his backpack...
Lugging it onto his shoulder...
And morosely going to what he knew would be the pain of his week.
Mondays...
Oh, Mondays...
How, how and how?
Max, with his backpack, passed by his mother...
Who then turned around, a smile on her face, saying...
Julianne: Make sure you haven't forgotten anything.
Max: (passionlessly) I won't.
The spite he held for Mondays acting upon him.
Even still, Max did head to the doorway...
To pick up two more things.
One.
His shoes.
To most people, they looked as though ordinary shoes...
And even still, they felt like it.
However, Max was given shoes specially made with materials from his home planet Neutron...
Basically Neutronic tech...
Which allowed him to run on surfaces of the earth without suddenly melting his own shoes.
It was for this reason that this teenage boy had never before gone shoe shopping for shoes...
In actuality, it was just so his mother could take a look at them...
Take one, and then from it, fashion an exact replica and or just add the missing and needed parts to it right there.
The result?

Max could speed about on the surface of the earth with no issue.
In fact, his shoes even felt and looked as though anything from the planet Earth.
That much...
Was a testament to his mother's skill...
As well as the technology and materials on their home planet.
Even still, as Max did pick this up, the same went for his skateboard.
His mother had done the exact same thing for every one of his skateboards...
After all, did she really expect Max not to try using super speed on one of those things?
"Never." she would say. Not in a million years would she be that stupid.
All the same, was it a matter of putting them on, and also...
Placing his foot to his skateboard...
Before he was finally ready to go to school.
As for being or feeling ready to go...
That was an entirely different issue.
Julianne: Don't forget to have a great time at schooool!
She said this with a jolly voice, even and still as the news program went on.
Janice: So far, we already have reports of one such dog...
And as for Max, well...
Jolly was his last feeling.
Max: Ok...
But Julianne Hunter was not done.
Julianne: Don't forget to hang out with your friends.
Max: I won't.
And even still...
Julianne: Ooh! And tell Rose I've got a new idea about what we could cook next time.
Max: Ok...
Julianne: Alright. Have a great day at school!
That was that.
Max: Ok...
And of it, could the teenage boy finally head on over to school.
And of this journey, it would only take a while.
The truth of the matter was that the teenage boy needed only a little while to get there.
Sure, if his mother had driven him there, he would be there much earlier...
But, for his own ability to just skate there...
And of the fact that it was never so far away...
Well...
Julianne was never really worried...
And Max had never found it to be a bother...
Even without using his powers.
8:30 am.
And of it, he started to skate.
This would take only a little while...
Skating, to Max, was second nature in a sense.
As though his very hands and feet had found something on the Earth that actually agreed with him...
... in a sense.
After all, he loved to skate...
And while doing it, he felt...
Calm.
That was that.
And of that skating, was he so good at it that he could afford to ruminate all while thinking about this.
This one thing.
His team.
Well, team... sort of.
Every single one of them.
And even still, one of them.
And even still more...
... of what happened that last night.
The truth of the matter was simple...
Max did not enjoy having said that.
And of having said that, many revelations unfolded.
And of those revelations, well...
For one thing, not a single one of them was mad.
But that wasn't what was really bothering him then.
It was...
8:33 am.
Max continued to skate to school.
He would be there early...
As though irony had not had enough laughs that day.
Nope.
There was still more to come.
This he believed.
Mondays...
The worst days of the week.
Even though he knew this would be the case every day...
He simply hated Mondays.
8:34 am.
He said those words...
Out loud...
And they all heard him.
Of Luke, he would say...
He did try to help him.
He failed...
That was a fact...
And of it, Max refused to even listen to him.
But that was fine.
Max would have no ill will towards him for that. It was not his fault he had no idea.
8:35 am.
And what of Rose?
The girl who always seemed shy and always seemed too good for her own good.
She never seemed the type to go out and say something like that to him, and yet strangely, being the type to say exactly that to him.
Of all the things this teenage boy could say about her...
This was one...
That she did indeed catch him by surprise that day.
That whole thing she said to him.
That got him.
He never would have seen that one coming.
Speaking of...
8:36 am.
Next was Ken.
In an odd sense, Max did not really feel the need to worry about him.
It was...
Peculiar...
But...
Why worry?
He felt as though, of all things...
They were good.
And that was enough for him, somewhat...
8:37 am.
But the very one who daunted him then and now...
The very one whose face and words were on his mind then...
It was her...
The girl by the name of Tiffany Chang.
Of all people.
Say what one would about this teenager, but...
In a million years...
He never would have seen what she'd said coming.
Not in a million years.
This thought remained on his mind as he skated for quite some time.
Tiffany Chang.
The teenage leader of the team...
The female leader of the team...
Her.
The one who did not want him to join the team...
The one who always seemed so strict and so tough...
And even still, the one he secretly respected...
She...
She of all people...
She was the one who saved him from that situation.
Even still, she was the one he owed this much to...
That of all of them...
She understood him best.
Of all people...
The annoyance of the situation was not lost on the teenage boy...
But that feeling had long since passed.
After all, there was one thing that remained in his heart after all that...
That being...
Dread.
Of all the feelings inside of his heart...
This was one...
That the boy by the name of Maximillian Hunter...
Did not...
Under any circumstances...
Want to talk to Tiffany Chang.
Nope.
Well, to be more precise, he simply dreaded meeting her.
He knew he'd have to, but...
No.
He would not.
8:40 am.
It was then that Max finally remembered Rose's house.
It was sudden.
As though it finally hit him that he'd left something behind...
That person being Rose...
But, by then, he had already long since passed her house.
It wasn't like he was looking forward to seeing her either.
This teenage boy, like so many, hated it when people pitied him.
And of that, he would hate to see her do so for him.
But still, he would never... decide to avoid her for something like that.
He was just like that.
And of that, he was actually pretty close to school...
A painful thing...
As though rainstorms and hailstorms hated Mondays too.
A terrible irony.
Max continued to skate all the way there...
Noting a few people already getting in...
Tiffany Chang...
Yep.
It was unavoidable.
Max was going to have to talk to her...
Whether he liked it or not.
And this odd feeling in his chest...
This odd welling up...
This odd sense of gratefulness...
And even still, this odd feeling of dread...
They would all...
Eventually...
Have to find their place...
Whether they liked it or not.
Not that he considered all this before he walked to the school gates...
Greeting Lars...
Max: Mornin' Lars.
Lars: Mornin' kid.
Lars was yet to familiarize himself with the teenage skateboarder that for whatever reason always managed to show up much earlier than he thought he would.
But rather, that that was just him...
The boy by the name of Maximillian Hunter...
And of all this, absolutely and honestly...
He would have to face it all.
Pain or no pain.
It was inevitable.
8:42 am.
He was the first of the five to get to class.
Oh, the irony.
He immediately started to consider things...
First off, his locker...
He needed to get to it to sort some things out...
And to prepare for things during the week.
As he opened his locker, he looked once more to that note from his mother...
"Stay positive."
Max: (thinking: Huh...)
So, which character had your favorite morning routine?
