  My friend do not ever underestimate local research with local people, I am very serious. In these days I have been working in the warehouse, one of my colleagues (a veteran who is about to retire in that position and has been there all his life) gave me some precious information on the peat bog thing. All because in a conversation in the middle of a lunch break, he brought up the question of what I was studying and what my final project was about.

  Basically, he told me that the grandfather of a friend of his, a fisherman, used to tell them as kids about an area of the sandbank that turned dark after stormy days when the bottom sand was pounded. That dark ground is still there, of course, but people hardly notice it anymore, because those who come only go for a walk or a swim, not to throw nets or push the boat into the sea. With this new clue in the way (I got him to ask his friend for more directions or an approximate location), I have to say that I am once again hopeful of finding something of interest. I don’t know what, but come on, my money’s on a coastal settlement sunk under the sea. One is allowed to dream, isn’t it?

  Still, however hopeful it may be, I will first have to find a way to work on that underwater site on the sandbank. It’s not very deep, but it’s still submerged. Luckily, I can count on the guys at Buceo Galicia who will definitely give me a good price for the wetsuit (because I’m not going to be such an idiot as to spend hours underwater with just a swimming costume), the tubes, the goggles and basically anything else I might need. It’s going to be a tremendous expense, enough to use up most of my monthly salary, but, if this ends well, I’ll be audible from Ourense at least.
