  # Chapter 19: The Eclipse Dungeon and the Test of Loyalty

  ## 1. The Labyrinth of the Mind and the Sand of Memory

Kerchack and Luna crossed the portal. The air that greeted them was neither cold nor hot, but dense, heavy, as if every molecule was charged with an ancestral sadness. The dungeon environment was the pure manifestation of Kerchack's mind: dark, chaotic, and oppressive. The floor was made of red sand, fine as dust, that moved under their feet, and the ceiling was a starless night sky, illuminated only by a faint, bluish glow emanating from the walls.

"**Welcome to my private hell, girl**," Kerchack hissed, his voice guttural, but now with a tone of weariness that Hiroshi had never heard. "**Every grain of this sand is a memory of betrayal. Every shadow is a Dragon that fell.**"

Luna, clinging to Hiroshi's scaly arm, felt his body tremble. She knew the fight was no longer external. It was a war for Hiroshi's soul.

"It's not a hell, Kerchack. It's a prison. And you are the jailer," Luna replied, her voice echoing in the void.

Kerchack did not answer, but the pressure in his mind increased. They walked through corridors that turned into battlefields. Vivid illusions of Dragons being massacred, their hearts ripped out by human figures with laurel wreaths.

"**See, girl! See the price of our naivety! They called us gods, but they hunted us like cattle!**"

Hiroshi, somewhere, felt Kerchack's pain. It was a millennial pain, a wound that never healed. He felt the Dragon's fury, but also the deep sadness, the mourning for an extinct race.

  ## 2. Luna's Test: The Illusion of Bella

At one point, the scenery changed. The red sand gave way to a green lawn, and the smell of blood was replaced by the scent of wildflowers. In the center stood Bella, alive, smiling, with the morning sun in her hair.

Luna stopped, her breath caught in her throat. Kerchack tried to move forward, but Hiroshi's body was paralyzed.

"**A pathetic illusion. Destroy it, boy!**", Kerchack ordered.

But the illusion of Bella was not for Kerchack. It was for Luna.

"You betrayed him, Luna. You are helping the monster that is consuming him. You are turning him into a murderer. You are as evil as they are," the illusion of Bella said, her voice sweet, but loaded with venom. "You are using him to protect yourself."

Luna felt the blow. The accusation was her greatest insecurity. Was she using Hiroshi? Was she taking advantage of his kindness?

"I... I didn't betray him," Luna whispered, tears streaming down her face.

"You betrayed him the moment you let him become a monster. I died so he could live. You live so he can die," the illusion continued, pointing to the black scale on Hiroshi's arm.

Kerchack roared in Hiroshi's mind: "**She's right! You are weak! Destroy her!**"

Luna closed her eyes. She remembered Hiroshi's smile, the light slap he gave her face to wake her up, the patience with which he taught her to speak.

She opened her eyes, blue as the ocean, and faced the illusion.

"I didn't betray him. I am his anchor. I remind him of who he is. You died for him, Bella. I live for him. And I will not let him become what he hates. I am not using him. I love him. Not as you loved him, but as a brother, a father, a friend. And love is not betrayal."

The illusion of Bella trembled. "Love is the greatest weakness."

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

"No. Love is the only thing that stops him from being you, Kerchack," Luna said, looking directly at Hiroshi's body.

The illusion of Bella dissolved into dust. Kerchack remained silent, Hiroshi's body relaxing slightly. Luna had passed the test.

  ## 3. The Secret of the Karius Sword: The Draconic Prison

They reached the center of the dungeon, a circular hall of obsidian. In the middle, on a pedestal, was the **Karius Sword**. It was not the legendary weapon Hiroshi expected. It was a dark obsidian blade, without shine, that seemed to absorb light.

Kerchack revealed the secret, his voice heavy with resignation.

"**The Karius Sword is not a weapon of power. It was created by the Dragons to contain the power of an uncontrolled Dragon. I was that Dragon. In my youth, I was violent and power-hungry. I wanted to use force to dominate humans, to avenge the massacre of my family. My brothers imprisoned me in the dungeon and created the sword to contain me.**"

The sword was the key to stabilizing the symbiosis and returning control to Hiroshi.

"**I don't want to dominate Hiroshi's body. I want revenge. And the Karius Sword is essential for Hiroshi to master the Eclipse Dragon's abilities and understand his entire history. He needs to be in control to fight the King. If the symbiosis is completed, he will be just a puppet, and my revenge will be empty.**"

Kerchack was revealing his vulnerability. He wanted revenge, but he wanted it to be Hiroshi's revenge, the revenge of a human who suffered.

  ## 4. The Climax: The Fight for Control

Kerchack tried to grab the sword, but Hiroshi, using the strength of the connection with Luna, manifested. Hiroshi's body split into two auras: the dark one of Kerchack, who tried to dominate, and the weak, but persistent, one of Hiroshi, who fought to be free.

"**You cannot stop me, boy! I am the power! I am the only chance of survival in this cruel world!**", Kerchack roared, Hiroshi's voice distorted.

"I am humanity! I am the pain! I am the promise! I am the anchor!", Hiroshi shouted, his voice weak, but full of determination.

Luna ran towards the pedestal. She touched the sword and channeled her energy to Hiroshi.

"Fight, Hiroshi! Fight for yourself! Fight for Bella! Fight for me!", she screamed, tears falling onto the obsidian blade.

Hiroshi managed to touch the sword. The cold obsidian blade fused with the black scale on his arm.

  The LitRPG interface flashed:

  > **SYMBIOSIS STABILIZED. HOST CONTROL RESTORED.**

  >

  > **CLASS UNLOCKED: DRACONIC ARCHAEOLOGIST (Level 1)**

  >

  > **PASSIVE SKILL: DRACONIC RESISTANCE (50% reduction in physical damage)**

  >

  > **ACTIVE SKILL: SACRED FLIGHT (Requires Karius Sword)**

Hiroshi, now with the Karius Sword, looked at Luna. He was different, stronger, but with a look of pain. He knew that the price of humanity was pain.

"Thank you, Luna. You saved me from myself."

Kerchack was silent, but Hiroshi felt his presence, weaker, but still there.

"**You won, boy. But the revenge is still mine. And now, you have the tools to do it**," Kerchack hissed, with a tone of acceptance.

Hiroshi looked at the sword. He had the power, but the price was high. He had a Dragon in his mind, an Elf in his heart, and an obsidian sword in his hand. The journey to the capital was just beginning.
