60. Such a Crime?

So after analyzing the System Shop for quite a long time and going over literally every single item and their descriptions, along with their costs, I’ve come to a very reasonable conclusion. We are still broke.

Well broke is probably the wrong way to put, but we are definitely not rich.

I thought the 60 Gold that we received from the Dungeon run that Grandpa completed in the Gauntlet was going to be a lot of money and if we were comparing it to the cost of everything contained within a regular System Shop then yeah it definitely would’ve been a lot of money.

The problem was that everything that we really want or …well that’s a bad way of putting it, all the new and shiny looking things that I am seeing in this new System Shop is far more money than what that 60 Gold we received would have allowed us to purchase.

For example the cheapest item that I see in the shop is a whopping 40 Gold.

40 Gold Coins for one thing that is far more than what we can all afford together as a family which means we’re going to be money hungry for the foreseeable future, especially because I truly believe the information we need to reach the E Grade is present within the shop.

Foundations of Flesh and Mana and it’s description that read ‘how to properly integrate F Grade Traits’. Now I may not be a genius, but I think that means that although the Traits are listed in our status, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are fully integrated in our body otherwise, why would there be a book about it?

Of course, I could be wrong. Perhaps maybe it has something to do with buying a Trait. If that was possible. Maybe…just maybe if a purchased Trait granted outside of the system, perhaps came with issues of incorporation or integration like the book said, then integrating it would require some help and the book could do that.

Either way, I’m not too sure but I do think it is worth the purchase.

Then comes the Gene Codex, and that is I think is of far more value than the previous book and I guess it reflects in the cost. ‘Trait fusion into Genes; quality ranks and risks’.

Immediately I had the inkling that Genes were mighty important. It’s the first time I am seeing that word and it seems very helpful to maybe not reaching the E Grade, but to gain more power at the bare minimum. I am hoping it aligns with reaching the E Grade, but you never know, then comes the one that quite literally mentions the E Grade, On The Breaking Point, ‘What changes during the leap to E.’ Now based on that description, I am not sure if this will explain how to reach the grade, but maybe it telling us what changes on the leap to E will provide more than enough hints for us to actually reach the grade but the problem here is that all of that together is 750 Gold Coins. Which we do not have, not even close,

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

Now obviously the Gauntlet Dungeon will provide that but that means trading off new skills, new weapons, new armor, new Traits and who knows what else but I don’t think the members of this family will disagree about the importance of these books.

Maybe they can argue over one or another but at least one of them has to be purchased and sure I could definitely go run through the snake bite dungeon as many times as I want without risk well maybe not the whole dungeon of course but the first three floors at least, as many times as I want and stack up coins continuously, but that doesn’t seem efficient considering how many coins we got.

The most efficient thing here would be to have every member of the family that can survive the battles go in the dungeon, but instead of completing multiple floors at once which we learned boosted the reward or at least we think is did boost the reward because when we previously tried to complete one floor at a time, the rewards didn’t match the quality we were previously given.

I didn’t do this experiment, but a couple of my aunts did so instead of rushing through the gauntlet dungeon we will take the hit on the level of reward we will get and each just complete one floor at a time to stack some gold up and hopefully buy these new books.

Beyond those two books though we are going to have to tough it out in the snakebite Dungeon since we can’t waste the battles present in the Gauntlet Dungeon. None of us knew just how many battles are actually in the dungeon, but if we take the next couple and focus on money, we could very well be shooting ourselves in the foot in the long run.

If there are only perhaps 10 more battles left, I’m not sure on the number, but realistically…oh wait a second… level 50 marked the end of the F Grade and all the opponents we fought in the Gauntlet so far, while we don’t see levels of Grades have been equivalent to us in power.

Some of them were a bit stronger, some a bit weaker depending on environment, but for the most part, I don’t necessarily think they have been a whole Grade above us.

Could be wrong since I’ve never even ran into an E Grade before, so what do I know but just off the LitRPG knowledge I do possess and just I think a little bit of common sense an entire Grade above us would be far more than we can actually handle so I think all the battle so far were in the F Grade which means Battle 50 has a solid chance of being the last battle, at least in the F Grade.

Again, could be wrong but honestly, I think I just stumbled upon a really good idea of when we can expect to finish the last battle, and that might change how we do things just a bit so with that being said if I were to use this assumption as true, I would like to only go a few more battles on just hoarding as much as I can and then go back to focusing on getting stronger.

I think if the entire family were to do this, we would be in a really good position. I don’t think we’ll reach a point in the short term where we can buy every single thing in the shop, but there are a few things I think that should be prioritized. The books for example they should definitely be prioritized.

But things like materials and tools section can wait because we’re not necessarily a family full of crafters just yet, since people are just kind of tinkering around as of right now, but there are other things that have a bit more meaning like a minor storage pouch.

I’m sure I can make an argument that we don’t need that since we all still have backpacks, but it sounds cool as hell so I kind of want it, is that such a crime?
