The cavern that we’d painstakingly traversed this whole time was only the first part of the Dungeon. Well, let me not say that as if there were a whole bunch of parts. It was simply one of two.
Down below us, the cavern “ended” in a way, and a circular bowl area was before us. In this bowl, there was one singular giant stalagmite in the center of it. Coiled around it was another stone snake.
Only it was different in size from the rest of its brethren. It was probably only matched in size to the boss of the first Floor. Though unlike the serpent of the first Floor, this stone bastard wasn’t sleeping at all.
Its head was pointed straight at us as we observed from our position. It was like the little shit knew if we wanted to leave then we would have to enter the bowl. And to make matters worse, I knew for a fact that the reason it was bowl-shaped was so that it could easily be filled with the acid water.
There was none in it now, but it would really be stupid to assume that it wouldn’t come at some point.
Thankfully for us though, I don’t think there was anything actually stopping us from attacking right from where we were. The snake could see us, yes, but it wouldn’t be able to uncoil itself from that position quickly enough if we were to fire something at it. And boy were we going to fire something at it.
Aunt Renee was standing behind us, blocked from the sight of the snake as she spent a few seconds collecting her mana. The name of her Skill was Deepshot. It apparently allowed her to fire off mana-powered arrows designed for breaking through armor for as long as she had mana and arrows to spare.
She had the option of quick firing them, but if she maintained the draw for a few seconds then the shot would have a bit more power than the quick-fire version of the Skill. This was why she needed to maintain her mana levels. Unlike a mage or even me, Aunt Renee didn’t put a lot of Stats into her mana.
For her, it was mostly spent on Dexterity and Perception for quick movements and excellent eyesight. It was what allowed her to shoot with the precision of a diving hawk at the sight of a mouse.
“Ready!”
We quickly got out of her way, and she stepped up with conviction. Before the snake could react to what was happening, she aimed and fired all before one second elapsed since she stepped up.
The arrow shot out like an actual bullet, leaving a streak of white in the air as it moved faster than my eyes could track and made contact with the snake, which hadn’t managed to move out of the way.
Boom!
The walls of the cavern shook under the impact of the arrow on the snake, and a cloud of dust quickly gathered that obscured the result of the impact.
Aunt Renee drew another arrow and was prepared to power up again, as we all watched with bated breath to see what happened. We knew it didn’t die since the clear notification didn’t show up, but there was no telling if it was even effective in the first place.
But before the dust cloud cleared up in full-
“ROARRRR!!!”

A booming roar left the mouth of the snake and that alone was enough to push away the cloud of dust from around it. It was wounded. Gray-looking blood was leaving from a significant wound not too far from its head.
Though before we could celebrate the result of the strike, a loud rumbling was heard coming from behind us, and with it the sight of who knows how many stone snakes were all slithering toward us while hissing with rage.
Fuck, I suppose those are the snakes we didn’t run into based on the path we took.
Shit.
“Into the bowl! Aunt Renee, ready up another one of those powered strikes! Uncle Terrance, protect her! Uncle Robert, you’re with me again! Let’s go see if that snake wants to box!”
I rattled off some instructions quickly as we all moved into the bowl. There was no need for any of them to respond verbally since they were all responding with actions.
But honestly the situation wasn’t a good one. I didn’t want to find out just how dangerous fighting against all those snakes and the big one at the same time was about to be.
“We don’t have long before they reach us! Let’s do as much damage to the snake as we can! Fire whenever you have a shot, Aunt Renee!”
Uncle Robert picked up his big-ass sword and took off in a mad sprint toward the big snake, which had long since left its coil and was now positioning itself to attack us. But I wouldn’t let that happen.
Surging Step! Surging Step! Surging Step!
I used the Skill in quick succession to dash straight at it before darting to the left and then once more toward its flank.
The snake was far too massive to keep up with my movements, and as a result its flank was wide open to me.
“Piercing Tide!!”
I jumped up and raised my spear directly above my head before bringing it down like a hammer on the body of the snake.
That strike didn’t manage to bisect it at all, but I created a large gash that more and more gray blood flowed out of. The snake was obviously enraged and tried to lunge after me again, only for it to fail to realize the real danger.
“HEAVY SLASH!!”
Uncle Robert activated a Skill that added more weight to his sword, and he brought it down with immense force on another part of the snake’s body.
Boom!
I quickly backed off and spared a glance toward Aunt Renee, who was aiming her bow toward the snake while Uncle Terrance used what was left of his sword to literally slap away the first couple of snakes that managed to reach them.
“Get away, Uncle Robert!”
He jumped back quickly without a second thought, and just as fast another streaking arrow came whizzing through the air and this time it struck the head of the snake directly.
Once again, the cavern shook, but there was still no clear notification.
“ROAAARRRRR!!!”
The stone snake was practically seeing red now, but only in one eye since the other one was claimed by Aunt Renee’s arrow.
Unfortunately, my previous fears turned out to be true as the sound of running water reached my ears from all around us.
“WE NEED TO KILL IT NOW! THE ACID WATER IS COMING!”
Aunt Renee readied up another arrow while running since the snakes were becoming a problem, while both myself and Uncle Robert went back toward the snake.
Once again it lunged at me since I arrived first, but instead of letting me get free rein to its flank again, it literally threw its entire body toward Uncle Robert instead.
“FUCKING MOVE, UNCLE!!”
He didn’t have time to get out of the way and instead he roared.
“STALWART!!!!”
He stood his ground and placed his sword in front of his body.
“AHHHHHH!!!”
“UNCLE!!”
Time seemed to slow down for a moment as the snake’s body made contact with Uncle Robert’s sword, and then out of nowhere it was like it sped right back up as Uncle Robert was pushed backward toward the edge of the bowl rapidly.
When the snake finally came to a halt, I snapped out of just watching and sprinted after them.
Then…
“HEAVY SLASH!!!”
I heard the roar of Uncle Robert once more as I saw his blade rise up above the body of the snake since he literally leaped up in the air, and then he brought it down on the head of the snake like he had the strength of 1000 men powering him up.
BOOOOOM!!!
As he made impact, the acid water came spilling in not long after that and I hurriedly prepared another Piercing Tide strike, but it appeared it was no longer needed.
Congratulations on Completing Floor Four!
Proceed to Next Floor? Or Accept Current Rewards and Exit?
The choice this time was pretty obvious.
