  “Miss Vera! It’s an emergency!”

I banged on the door of what used to be Uncle Lenny and Aunt Risha’s house as I called for Miss Vera to come out.

  She eventually came running.

Miss Vera was a relatively tall caucasian woman that had a real mom vibe about her. Brunette bangs, rosy cheeks and enough jiggle in her arms that kind of made you believe she knew how to cook.

  “What’s the matter?”

She yelled out as she came bursting through the door.

“We’re getting attacked by red people. A whole bunch of them, get everyone and come back to the main house, we don’t have a lot of time.”

She looked like she wanted to scream right then and there but managed to stifle it and ran back into the house and started yelling.

I could hear her from out here.

“Get up!!! The aliens are coming to get us!!”

She didn’t need to say it twice before the 9 other people in the house began making a whole bunch of noise and running out with whatever they could grab.

I hadn’t interacted with them too much but they were all pretty much teenagers or close to it. Every one of them was probably somewhere between 12 to 14 years old give or take a couple years.

Definitely don’t know the full situation, but if someone told me that Miss Vera here was a teacher and these were her students I’d probably believe them.

Anyway, they all quickly came running out of the house with Miss Vera trailing right behind them and before we ran back to the house together.

None of them would be participating in the fight and instead would be joining my cousins in the theater for safety.

Looking at them now as they ran towards what they hoped to be a safe place, I started to feel a bit bad about thinking that Grandpa had iffy thoughts regarding taking them in.

Even Uncle Lenny wasn’t too bothered by it anymore.

Alright enough of that. They’ll be safe.

I then went to grab my own armor as the rest of my family were already standing outside and armed up as best as they could be.

While doing that I took one last look at my status.

  Sigh

Having to risk my life in that Dungeon already three different times yet still being so far from my next level was a little disheartening, but at least my second Trait was still proving to be a good choice.

30 extra mana at my peak is definitely a plus. Though with this next battle heading our way, a part of me is kinda regretting not having a skill that was purely an offensive attack, like Grandpa’s spear throw thing.

Both of my skills have served me well, but I couldn’t help the feeling from showing up. Well this isn’t the time to cry about it, I’ll just have to make sure I pick differently the next time I get the chance.

  Whenever that was.

  Anyway.

Have to wash those ideas out.

  It was time.

  “All archers to the front!”

Which was basically just a few of the adult women in the family. Aunt Renee, Aunt Risha, and my mother. All three of them clad in leather armor, strong bows in their grips, with a quiver filled arrows having off of their hips.

Joining them was Aunt Abigail, and my Uncle Grant.

Both of whom picked the mage class only recently since they were lagging behind in levels, and that is why they made up the third and final team we decided to make.

It was basically made up of everyone else that weren’t in the previous two. Aunt Abigail, Uncle Grant, and Uncle Lenny who would be staying home and protecting the kids since he still wasn’t 100% healed.

  Mom, and finally Grandpa.

I don’t know about the three ranged attackers plus a melee fighter combo, but Grandpa seemed to like it, and it was only this morning that they finally got a chance to enter the Dungeon.

We didn’t even get to spend any of the coins they brought back since Rakeon came running only a couple hours after Grandpa’s team made it back.

They might not be as rested but the journey was worth it.

We were no longer on the compound, as we relocated to the street that ran parallel to the southwest wall of the property.

It was the same street that the red people were marching down on. The street was damaged in places but it kind of played in our favor as there was plenty of cover between all the debris and cars that remained.

Even better, since it wasn’t a long paved road anymore, their march wasn’t easy and they had to move around the cars and debris as well.

I could see them now…Dad wasn’t lying when he said there was a few hundred of them.

  “Caaaaww!!!!!”

Then out of nowhere a few of those same giant black birds rose up and began flying towards us.

“We’ll handle those big ass birds, everyone else focus on those sun burnt sons of bitches!”

  Thankfully we weren’t alone.

There were probably about 200 people out here that had all found some courage after the last couple of days.

My family and I didn’t keep the system shop a secret either, we spread it to anyone who was listening, and it clearly paid dividends. People had armor, weapons, and a decent amount of them had classes.

Me and my family weren’t special.

It wasn’t very hard to reach level 5 to get a class, and if you really pushed yourself and managed to survive, then getting to 25 from multiple Dungeon runs wasn’t out of the reach over the course of three days either.

The only real benefits my family had was that it was a lot of us, we were truly together, and we had an easily defendable location.

Long story short we were still outnumbered, but the humans here weren’t just going to stay in their houses and hide any longer.

It was time to fight back as a community.

Once the red people were in range, the sound of arrows being loosed could be heard from everywhere, as the sky was quickly dotted with them.

Some flew towards the giant birds, while others, like the ones my family let loose flew towards the red people.

It wasn’t just arrows either…Aunt Abigail put both of her hands out like she was trying to push something, and then a very small ball of fire formed. It was roughly about the size of a tennis ball…but it was still a ball of fire.

Once she was ready, it shot out like a missile moving to erase the location in front of it.

Uncle Grant did something similar, except it wasn’t fire, or even a ball. This actually looked like a missile in a way, but it was like a white bubble almost. All we could see was the outline of the shape, which was white, but there was nothing inside of it.

Then it too shot out like the missile it resembled.

Of course we weren’t the only mages on the block, and various other things came flying out as well.

The only problem is that the red people weren’t just sitting still…and if they were in range for us…then we were in range for them.

  “DODGE!!!!!”

A voice came out from where as something came flying through the sky towards us.

  BOOM!!
