Chapter- 75 (Buffer Zone)

"I am listening. Speak." Mark spoke as he made himself comfortable in his seat.

"Mark, I am not stopping you from enjoying yourself. Torture, murder, kill, fuck, eat, explore, do whatever the hell you want, I will follow you throughout your journey. Heck, I will accompany you in your weirdest fantasies. But the premise is that we have all that for the rest of our lives, and for that, we need power. Enough power to get as many days as we want as currencies." Ayden stressed each and every word of his sentence, telling Mark how important what he was speaking was.

“I know. So take your time and explain your plan to me. I will follow it through. Believe me.” Mark said.

"I do believe in you. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here." Ayden said, "You see, Mark. Other people have two paths, as I have already explained, but not you. Now, you only have one path, and that is the path of the True Warrior. The first floor of the tower lays down any warrior's foundation, so this is why knowing about its rules is very important."

"You see, each stat completion on the first floor decides how many stat points you need to fill for all of your next metamorphosis. For example, if one has completed three stats to their completion on their first floor, then on all the next floors, he/she need to fill three stats completely as compulsory, otherwise, the next metamorphosis won't happen."

"So, deciding on their choices and their worth, everyone decides how many stat points they want to fill. But you, without knowing, chose the hardest path. You filled all the stat points to completion and directly ascended to the second floor. So from now on, you will have to fill all of your ten stat points to completion to get to your next metamorphosis, which is not bad actually."

"Walking the true path has its own benefits, like no one can predict your future, see where you are, or where you will go through prediction-type skills. Plus, possessing the source power, you can break and build any power in the tower, and that makes you one of the most powerful beings in this world."

"Warriors like you are rare, one in a million, but not invaluable. There is one reason why most creatures in the world don't want to walk your path. Because, for false path walkers, you are like a walking bank vault. Killing you, they can get one wish from the tower, and that wish can be anything. It can give them the strongest skill in the world, enlightenment to reach greater heights, the best bloodline, gifts, weapons, items, formations, potions, anything they wish for. Even 100 years in the safe zone."

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"100 years in the safe zone." Mark was shocked as he nearly jumped from his seat, "100 fucking years in safe zone. Then what about me? If I kill beings just as myself, will I also get some benefits, like 1 year or maybe 10 years in the safe zone?"

This news was big. Everything that Ayden said had an impact on him, but remembering the benefits he got from becoming a true warrior, especially resurrecting his family and still possessing 100 of years in the safe zone, made it all worth it.

But knowing what beings like him meant for the world changed everything. It literally jolted him awake from his satisfaction.

"You will get nothing, Mark. For you, every being is the same. Whether you kill the most powerful or bully the weakest, it's all the same. They are all worth 1 day each, and that's the greatest thing that you and warriors like you can ask for."

"You see, Mark, creatures like you may be what most creatures want to kill, but reality sometimes is the harshest truth of all. Killing beings like you, who are possessors of source power and can convert that source power into any element, is the biggest nightmare for any creature."

"And there are some beings who have mastered all thirteen types of elements, that is, Fire, Metal, Water, Wind, Earth, Ice, Thunder, Wood, Light, Darkness, Space, Time, and Force. Such beings can alter time and space, go through light and darkness, mix fire and water, and even use their body as the biggest weapons in the world. And you are one such being, Mark, you can do all that."

"All you need to do is practice turning your source power into three or four types of elemental powers that suits you the best, and then kill the weakest creatures that you can find. Three to five such beings every day is enough for you to get their meat and eat it to digest and get enough stat points till the completion, and just when you are about to complete and are left with 0.1 point, you can stop eating their meat, and slaughter them to get enough days to have 1000 years worth in the second floor, and live till the end."

"Once that is done, we can ascend, do the same on the third floor, and we will be able to live for 10,000 years together. How great is that?" Excitedly, Ayden spoke.

But hearing him, only made Mark puzzled, "Why do you keep stating 10,000 years and the third floor, what about after that? What is so special about the second and third floors that the fourth floor does not possess? And why should I only master three or four element powers, why not all of them when I have enough time to?"

With these, Mark asked all the queries that he had, making Ayden pause, as he then spoke, "You see, Mark, the first three floors of the tower are like a buffer zone for beginners. Of course, you as well. But that doesn't mean you can't survive fourth and above floors. I never meant that. It's just that after the buffer zone is over, the real battle for each and every day in the tower begins. That is why, before reaching the fourth floor, we need to collect, not just 10,000 years' worth of days, but 100,000 and even more if possible."
