Chapter- 94 (Making Lives Hell)

But even he didn’t believe what he was saying, if Carl really was that important, then he surely would’ve revived his father.

This all simply wasn’t adding up. It was as if a totally third party had sprouted out of nowhere to turn Mark their enemy, for no reason whatsoever.

“When did they mark you anyway? When that Rakhagan died, or before that?” Asked Ayden.

“When he died.” Mark replied, “They waited till the end. No, it is better to say that ‘The Eye of battlefield’, was in Rakhagan’s hand, only it could mark me. If it died, I would be permanently marked. If not, it would’ve used the marker in the last second to mark me semi-permanently or something.”

“Maybe they weren’t after you.” Ayden said, “Maybe the reason you got marked is that you killed that alive ‘True Warrior’. You know there are enough organizations and families that possess too many races as their slaves, meaning too many days to spend on useless things. Maybe this warrior was the same, too. Maybe his family or organization had given him slaves to kill and then buy ‘The Eye of Battlefield’ for assurance that no one would kill him. If one does, they would know who did it and would kill to avenge him.” As he kept nodding his head, showing how much everything he said made sense, not just to Mark, but to himself, too.

“And what? Give their own family members a permanent death? When they can simply buy a ‘Soul Protection Orb’ worth 100 days, which will always protect their souls and transfer them back to their organization and family after death, and then they can revive them using 10,000 days. Are there really such moronic families and organizations out there in the tower? I don’t think so.” Mark retorted.

“Oh, there are such morons. This is Tower, Mark. Take Ratrijita for an example. All of them possess ‘The Eye of Battlefield’. Their family members don’t care about reviving each other. They let them die. It’s always do or die for them. And there are millions such races out there. Maybe this Rakhagan was one such creature, whose organization also plays the do-or-die game.” Said Ayden.

“It still doesn’t explain them targeting me personally amongst all the True Creatures,” Mark said.

“It explains if somehow they see you as their enemy or see you as some threatening being that they must kill.” Ayden said, “And you know what, fuck it, fuck it all. This is all nuts. Nothing is matching up anyway, so why waste our brain cells thinking about this topic? Whatever needed to happen has already happened. It’s not like we can go back in time and change everything. Now, we need to think about what to do next.”

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

He wished they could go back in time and change everything, but the description of ‘The Eye of Battlefield’ made it clear that once someone had been sacrificed, that creature could never be revived, no matter the cost.

That means, it was a permanent death, which means, the mark would remain permanently too, forever, so why waste breath?

“What to do next? I know what to do next. We need to revive Colby.” Mark coldly spoke, “I may not be able to go back in time and change everything, but I know one thing for a fact. I have only one enemy, and that enemy is Carl. Even if there is a 0.1% chance that this has all been done by him, then I need to make sure that he suffers for eternity. If not, then those creatures who did all this need to suffer. So, guess what, Ay. It’s time to revive Colby and make him my permanent slave.”

“Are you sure you want to spend 10,000 days and revive Colby?” Asked Ayden just to be sure.

“Yup, Colby is the possessor of Bloody Wolf’s bloodline. Even without enmity, he is the best warrior for revival, and how fun would it be when he would go to the battlefield to kill other creatures, just to make me powerful, and if by any chance, I am correct about all of this being Carl’s doing. Well, then it would be Christmas for us, and Halloween for Carl, a bloody and nightmarish Halloween that is.” Mark smiled coldly.

But still for the last time, Ayden asked, "Mark, you wish to revive Colby. The entire amount comes to 10,000 days. Are you sure you want to conduct this transaction?"

Nodding his head, Mark calmly answered, "Yes."

And the next moment, a notification came into his sight.

[Deducting 10,000 days from the panel.]

  [Days deducted]

  [Remaining days: 27,260]

  [Initiating Revival of Colby.]

  [Resurrection Completed]

And once again, the miracle which Mark had already seen previously happened in front of him.

From the sky, a blue light fell as an orb floated in front of Mark.

Inside the orb was Colby, so small, so pathetic, as if a jailed slave, and that’s exactly who he was in Mark’s eyes.

The next moment, the orb started moving as if attracted by something or someone, as it rushed towards Mark, and the moment it got close, it forcefully entered his body.

Feeling the tearing pain as if someone had torn open his soul, Mark screamed as he clutched his heart.

But just as the pain had come, the next moment it disappeared. Instead, from inside him, a blue light came out, and the next second, it turned into Colby.

Feeling the life, which he had lost a long time ago, coming back to his body, instead of happiness, all Colby felt was dread, and the moment he turned around, that dread turned into a nightmare.

Cuz there with a devilish smirk stood Mark, as if looking over the biggest victory of his life, and maybe he was.

Cuz with this single move, he won it all against him and his son.

“With this, Carl’s life will become hell. Next, it’s time to make those morons' lives hell, who marked me.” Mark said ruthlessly as the next moment a portal opened in front of him, and without wasting any time, he took a step forward and disappeared.

Stunned, Ayden stood, as automatically his body disappeared, while Colby, he disappeared the moment Mark entered the portal, as if he had no will, no say.
