Chapter 43

  Julia

"You're back! You're back!" Marie ran up to her and hugged her stormily. "You're back! Where were you yesterday? I missed you!"

Her cssmates watched the joyful reunion partly with amused and partly with envious looks. Julia sat in her seat o Helga, who was talking to Philip. The two had greeted Julia much less stormily.

"Good m, Marie. I wasn't there because my servants were sick, and I robably sick too... It just wasn't noticeable yet. But everything is fine again." Julia gently pushed Marie away from her. "What did I miss yesterday?"

Marie then told her what they had done in css until the first css started.

During the break, she sat with her friends in the dining room and enjoyed a sed breakfast. I lesson they had magid Julia met her tutor.

"inally, we wao provide you with three tutors, but we are gd that Mrs. Neublum agreed. And at such short notice", her teacher told her. Mrs. Neublum was a witall stature with rge, green-doe eyes and pinned-up blond hair. "I am very happy to meet you", she said. "My name is Frederike Neublum and I will support and teach you for the hree years. Like you, I use all three kinds of magic."

"Gd to meet you." Julia wasn't happy, but she couldn't tell her that.

Mrs. Neublum nodded. "You will start the beginning of each lesson with your cssmates before we both retire to another room. Our space is at the end of the hallway. We have our peace there. Do you want to go? It's best to pack your things because we will stay there until the end of the css."

"I pack everything quickly..." Julia went to her seat and packed her bag, then apanied her tutor into the room at the end of the hallway.

The room was small, but someone had pced two small sofas and a table in front of the window at the end of the room. On the wall was a rge shelf that was filled with all sorts of things.

"We're pretty fortable here, aren't we?" Mrs. Neublum sat down on one of the sofas. Julia sat down opposite her.

"So, it's best to tell me what you've already learned and what you already do."

Julia thought for a moment. What could she do? Not much. "I see visions. At night, when I sleep. But not always. I also if I want to, see visions, but not yet trol them very well. I healed my ankle and caused wind in an enclosed space. Both happened unsciously."

"I work with that!" Mrs. Neublum wi her. "We have three school years to make you a terrific witch.”

Wonderful. That's wonderful. Everything I never wanted!

  "Thank you," Julia replied instead.

"Thank me, when you have bee the grandiose witch, you are meant to be."

After css, Julia was tired. She had been trying to call the wind the whole time. But when she finally succeeded, the wind was s that it knocked over the shelves and she had to up together with her tutor. She should only create a light breeze. Instead, it became a small tornado.

She made her way to her small apartment, where Sophie was waiting for her with a wonderfully fragrant meal.

When they all were eating together, she told them about her day aornado mishap. Finn ughed about it and Markretted that he hadn't seen it. " you make a tornado appear here?", he asked with a grin.

"No way!", protested Sophie, which made Finn ugh even more. "All the dishes would have been smashed afterward. And the food! On the walls! Or worse!"

"I guess, that's what Marko is after", Leopold tributed. "Pure chaos."

"What?" Marko shook his head with feigned innoce. "I don't! I would never want that. Right? Finn?"

Finn, who hadn't calmed dow, looked at him ughing. Meanwhile, tears rolled down his cheeks and he held his stomach with ughter. "Are you... you... you... sure?" he stammered between his ughter. "I... think, your... Parents.... should have named you... Chaos King instead..."

"That's not a name." Now Marko ughed too. "That's a title."

"To whom you do justice!", procimed Leopold. "Yesterday you hid all my socks. I haven't found them yet." In fact, Leopold was barefoot in his shoes.

"It wasn't me." Marko crossed his arms. "Maybe fairies stole your socks."

"Fairies don't steal socks, Marko", the elf tradicted. "I'd like to have my socks back."

"They're all uhe sofa in the living room. I saw Marko hiding them there." Finn took pity on the elf.

"Traitor!" shouted Marko and Sophie rolled her eyes. "You are impossible", she murmured. "Marko? Leopold? You have to go back to the kit now."

Groaning, the two stood up. Leopold kissed Julia on the cheek, ign the looks of the others, before following Marko. Julia smiled in surprise. She hadn't expected that.

"I saw that!" Finn wi her.

  Leopold

When he and Marko went back to their apartment, they were both tired. They had to wash up a lot and peeled an infinite number of potatoes for dinner, as potato soup was on the menu. Marko had teased him with the kiss the whole time until Leopold had had enough of it.

"And? Have you kissed Fin?", he had replied to the now perplexed wolf.

"What? No. Of course not. Why should I!", had been Marko's embarrassed reply.

Why should I? Leopold only wao annoy him so that he would finally stop, but Marko's reaade him suspicious. Marko's cheeks had turned red... Leopold grinned. "Why...", he had said. “That's a good question."

Now Marko was quiet. He looked tired. But Leopold was no different.

Arriving at the apartment, Marko sat down with Finn, who was reading a book in the living room.

"You're all red!", he heard Finn say.

  "I'm not...", Marko murmured.

Leopold went to their shared room to ge. But there he met Sophie, who was rummaging in his cupboard and came across the pot with the potion. "Ah! Leopold. There you are. I have your undry here... What is this?" She poio the pot.

Leopold panicked. What was he supposed to do? He desperately needed an excuse.

"Nothing special...", he said quickly.” I put my things away on my own but thank you."

Sophie frowned. "Nothing special?" She took the pot out of the cupboard and took off the lid. A pu smell came towards them.

  Oh no!

Leopold could hardly snatch the pot from her, he would make himself suspicious... "This is from home. Medie. For elves. Please put it back."

"Oh." Sophie put the pot ba its pce. "Why do you keep medie behind your clothes?"

"So that Marko doesn't knock over the pot?" Beads of sweat formed on his forehead. He hoped Sophie wouldn't notice. Or see through his lie. Luckily, she didn't seem the herbs.

"Ah yes... Marko is sometimes very stormy. I'll put your things ba quickly. Your closet was very messy."

"No, thank you. I do it myself."

"But tidy, please. A room is only tidy if the closet is also tidy! If you just throw everything in, your clothes are crumpled!"

  "I will. Thank you, Sophie."

When the old dy finally left the room, he breathed a sigh of relief.

  This could have gone wrong!

He put his closet back. Halfway , so that Sophie did not clear it out again, and thought further about the potion.

He thought of the princess. They were together now. Actually together... Something he never expected. Did he have a guilty sce?

He knew he was deceiving her.

  But it was necessary.

He would use the situation to his advantage. Everything would be easier if she trusted him pletely. So, he had to make her as happy as possible.

But how do you make a princess happy?

He had no moo buy her expensive gifts. He couldn't sew her clothes himself. (He had no i in that either...) So, what could he do for a walk with her?

But outside the rooms of their apartment, they had to keep their retionship secret. Or? Or would the publiot care? He was her possession, even if he did not like it. And with her possessions, she was allowed to do what she wanted. Right?

  But she wouldn't.

She certainly didn't want the public to have a bad image of her...

Would it be a bad image?

People probably wouldn't care. After all, they treated him like dirt. But he was also able to use that for himself. Until his pn succeeded. Until they all were free.

But how did he make the princess happy?

  And then, there was Sophie.

He hoped very much that she would n up the 'medie' again. Maybe she fets about it? The princess was not allowed to arouse suspi under any circumstances, otherwise, everything would be over.

  It was almost all over.

Did he need a better hiding pce?
