Epilogue First Great Arc, Log from an Average [Scribe]

Log from a high-tier scribe w for Hamiltons's School for the Gifted:

The world ended oember 14 20XX.

To be more precise the world ended as we know it, it has been almost three months sihat event, and as I write this it has bee harder and harder to keep myself isoted from this so-called [System], most of the scribes that joi have shown improved work capacity and less errors overall in their work.

The ahumans have shoabilities that only were seen iahumans, they have even developed what I only describe as pseudo-skills.

They have less power than a normal [Metahuman] skill, but they have shown easier improvement and it seems they aren't limited by only a single skill with multiple derivated forms unlike a normal [Powered].

The powered however have shown that they have a faster start in their climb to power, while on the first day, they showed the same degree of power and flexibility as a normal human, they climbed in power and number of skills faster than a normal human inducted into this [System], most of them have shown spoke of the multiple applications they used to have turned into different skills.

For this log, we will use our standard measure of a [Wind] skill user.

[Wind] user logged as [Low-Tier Scribe #27] was depicted as an average [Wind] user with limited power, mostly used as a messenger before the [System] came around.

He was logged as low D-Tier powered at best and High E-Tier at worst, after indu into [The System] he described a build-up in his chest and our sensors detected a spike of mana rushing across his body, he then described how his [Skill] had turned into different skills. These we logged such as:

  -Wind Manipution.

  -Wind Affinity.

  -Fly.

Said scribe reported that while he could no longer fly as easily as before at the start of the days, but the skill seemed to be easier to use heless. The skill seemed to be easier to use with each attempt at using it, and the [System] seemed to give a detailed log of how much mana it ed and the [Proficy] with it.

The system also opened a new way to quantify the growth of its users, as indicated by the several [Stats] the Scribe had access to, the [System] seemed to quantify the different attributes of the users. Thanks to the advanced level the scribe ascribed he had lenty of stats to experiment with. We o guarantee his employment for life but we were able to verify that increasing the value number in turn increased the strength and speed of the subject.

Further testing proved that most attributes increased as stated, the harder to measure, however, were the mental status as Wisdom & Intelligence, and Charisma.

At the lower ends it was hard to measure the increase of those, what was iing however was how a [Mage] turned. Sihose who used magic seemed to be having a harder time adapting, one of the low-end [Scribes] that was a mage accepted a simir deal as the powered scribe. Only asking for the ce to study some higher-level spell formue.

When indug into [The System] they, however...Didn't fare as we had expected.

The Mage Scribe reported that he was having a harder time finding his [Soulscape] and that he had gained [Skills]:

  -Mana Manipution.

  -Earth Affinity.

  -Wind Affinity.

  -Light Affinity.

  -Magic Circle.

  -Space Affinity.

This Mage however had an easier time leveling up his Mana Manipution and Magic Circle skill than the former powered scribe, and while he could build some magic circles he had difficulty accessing most of the higher-end spells he had before.

What he reported was that after achieving level 10 in his mana manipution skill he had been offered an [Evolution] for his skill, he refused to reveal said information even after him more allowan the information avaible to him.

And in turn, offered other [Skill] he had ear some point, this trade was good enough that it was deemed for the best to allow the scribe his secrets, aaught others how to acquire the skill [Identify]. This skill allowed a [System Inducted User] to see the [Status] of other members in the [System].

There were some limits to the information avaible and it required someoo be part of the [System] to work, also it only disclosed base information about the targets, name, and level were the easiest information avaible.

Followed by [Job], [Profession], and [Title].

And wasn't that a new source of trouble...The system endorsed [Jobs] and [Professions].

What we found about them was w, for ohe [Job] one could access to depended oitudes and what one did, easy enough to digest. Both Scribes in this test acquired the following jobs:

-Page: After doing their daily job for their supervisor.

-Librarian: After searg for research material for the testing.

-Researcher: After w on the results of the testing.

-Lab Rat: After doing a test.

-Apprentice Mage: After casting successfully a spell (The Mage Scribe).

-Mage Researcher: After rec the testing of said spell.

-Aeromancer: After successfully recreating the use of a skill by the powered.

-Scribe: After cheg out at the end of the day.

-Janitor: Allegedly after ing after themselves.

These jobs came with small descriptions about their use and expectations and implied that they would give [Advao their jobs and skills in said areas.

The [Profession] however, was more plex with the options.

  -Researcher.

  -Scribe.

  -Historian.

  -Artificer.

  -Rune Mage.

  -Mana Scribe.

  -Rune Scribe.

  -Summoner.

These seemed to imply a further specialization in their range of options and were only avaible to the former Powered and Mage, noahumans that acceded the system had a harder time getting maed skills h-power skills.

They could access some other variations of skills such as:

  -ing.

  -Rapid Shelving.

  -Punch.

  -Kick.

  -Jump.

  -Running.

And one former scribe apprentice had some more...Dubious ones.

  -Steal.

  -Mugging.

  -Burgarly.

  -Assault.

He ut in a nonvaluable area and monitored, he wasn't informed that his status had been perused by a higher ranking [Scribe] with the [Identify] skill.

What was found iing in the days to e was that one could achieve simir results with different skills, for example, the skills:

  -Identify

  -Appraisal

  -Determine

  -Ascertain

  -Diagnose

  -Dis

  -Evaluation

  -Assessment

  -Analysis

  -Judgement

  -Iion

All returned some degree of information, while not all worked on the same premise and grasped the same information. Only [Identify], [Appraisal], [Analysis], and [Iion] gave information about the [Status] for example. And aype of skill such as [Name] could only return the name of the target...It was mostly used for uified books and art in general.

While other skills like [Judgement] seemed to only wainst [Evil] or [Bad People], the skill implied as such, and it seemed to work uhe premise that the owner could make a fair judgment about the state of its oppo. This was the way we found the [Thief Scribe] (He had that as a job).

So far there didn't seem to be any reason to not join the system, easier access to almost superhuman level of power, an easy way to increase one's strength by just doing what one did on a daily basis life.

And the fact that we had firmation of the existence of at least [Two Deities] seemed to be a good enough reason to accept the indu...Right?

  No. It wasn't.

As stated at the start this all started three months ago, the first month was easy enough, plenty of people were wary of joining [The System], at least within the [Scribes]. By the half of the seonth people started to join if only to stop the blue ss from b them, at that point the normal humans learhat they could also gain [Skills], granted most were normal.

But the differeween someone running and someone [Running] was so big that soon enough most of the normal clerks had turned into [Clerks] of some type. Paperwork would be finished in half the time, and then by the end of the seonth, at least one had mao [Evolve] his skill to allow them to write using both hands and speaking with their neighbor...At the same time.

So you my dear reader may wonder, why didn't you join then? If you are inducted already you may even think me a madman, for the advantages are plenty, aren't they?

The thing is...There are things as [Scribe] we must keep, one of those I found by mistake, you see... No one remembers the name of [Framework] or [Odyseey] while I .

I know that [The ■■■■■■] existed, instead of the current [The ars] after [The Juggernaut] left their anization. I remember ■■■ ■■■■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■ and ■■■ ■■■■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■. And speaking of them to anyone inducted in the system just makes them look at me weirdly as if they couldn't parse the meaning of my words.

Any book I show them ends with them speaking about how these books speak of their deeds as humans in aimes, instead of how they are stuff about what they did a month ago. The system was actively preventing information from the inal forms of [Framework] and [Odyssey] from spreading.

If that was all it would be fine, but what else was missing?

The world had this big gap, they held information in their databases, but it was...It was almost as if they had another petitor, but no information was around.

He went to the outside but besides a few spots for new goveral buildings here and there no obvious gaps in the infrastructure, most libraries were tied to their internal system to allow the rey of information. But even so, besides the emblem of [Framework] of an eagle holding a shield nothing was amiss.

In the end, it doesn't matter, I will leave this log and hope for the best. The higher-ups have fihis experiment's funding and my new work requires me to have certain [Skills] avaible. It just isn't possible to pete against other [Scribes] without the right job or [Skills].

tinuation from previous Log, [High Scribe]:

Most of the information in the previous log is sored and unreadable, so I will tinue uhe assumption that this was sored by someone higher in the and structure. I am a [High Scribe] after initialization, this granted me the right skills to do my job such as:

  -High Appraisal.

  -True Assessment.

  -Evaluation.

  -Iion.

  -Falsehood dete.

  -Fast Read.

This allowed me to verify the veracity of the information avaible to me and to evaluate and categorize the information o tih my job. Unlike most others of my peers the [System] granted me what we are describing as [High Tier Job], this granted me a higher bonus to my stats and skill profipared with others.

The [Boost] hasn't been qualified as such since we don't have nearly enough high-tier job users, or at least not many that came forward to me for this experiment. Most of the ma have refused to disclose their current job or their tier. And sihey are my superiors within and outside the system, my skills 't pierce their defense beyond seeing their name.

The [Scribe] with [Thief] reted skills was moved to aeam si was found he could piere of those defenses, so he is now managed by a [Law Scribe] with the correct type of skills that allow him to trol and wrangle him with ease.

My previous log seemed to focus plenty on our new [Gods], si seems to focus on their deeds across the ages, how they mao live almost 200 years without access to the system and the boost granted by their [Stats] is beyond me. But they ended up as gods so perhaps they knew or had access to the system before the rest of us.

At the very least they were powerful enough to be leading figures, we don't know if they were part of the previous ten-member iteration of [The ars], and if they were osition they held. Some members of the agical girls like to say that if one of them had been a magic user they would know for sure. The fact that the mages have [Skills] and 't access their [Soulscape] seems to imply her [Framework] nor [Odyssey] were mages, and while most [Magical Girls] and [Mages] do end with Mana manipution skills...

They aren't exclusives to them, enough experimentation grant the elemental manipution affinity skill, and then enough work get you a mana manipution skill, afterwards is just hard work to earn a magic css or profession.

Some [Scribes] haven't taken the [Scribe] job sihey want to get a [Magic Scribe] or [Magical] equivalent. So far we haven't found any way to either reset a [Job] or [Profession], same with the [Status points].

There is implied that a way is avaible the [Student cil] of The Mystic Powers Institute has reported their members have been able to redistribute their status points at least once. Same with their Jobs and Profession, but they are holding the way they used to do so. Reports indicate that at least one of their members somehow unlocked a [Holy] css, but so far she hasn't advertised to which [God], [Spirit] or [Diviy] she is aligned.

Further reports will be logged within the same report for future sorship.
